The castle on the hill, guys, is actually Mont St Michel, a Catholic abbey or monastery, with the surrounding little village on the northern coast of France (on the English channel). It is surrounded by water but can be reached by carriage at low tide. It inspired Minas Tirith in LOTR. See it in the 1982 movie The Scarlet Pimpernel and many others. Good review, guys, can't wait to see what unfolds and how he gets there. 😊 PS. I live in D.C. and you can exit the subway cars at each end through emergency doors.
I think it’s gonna have a religious angle. Laurent will be sent to fulfill a prophecy. They called Daryl the messenger and he has the wings on his vest. Too many biblical/angelic references.
He said "I want HIM to know." It shows it clearly in the subtitles. But also, you can find the synopsis for this show online, and it opens with "While searching for Rick Grimes..." So yeah, it's a fact that Daryl was searching for Rick, 100%.
Where Daryl is jumping off that big cargo ship those 2 big yellow bars above him is what holds life boats to the ships. My theory is he released the life boat then he's jumping down onto it into the water and then at some point and maybe that same time the boat is capsized and he has to then strap himself onto it to sleep so he doesn't fall off of it onto the water
Yes, the castle thing is real. It's called Mont Saint Michel. It's a couple of hours west of Paris. Sometimes the water is higher and you have to take a boat out there. Other times, depending on the season, you can actually walk yourself there. I go to Europe every summer and have been there twice. Absolutely stunning.
I'm so happy you mentioned specific name. It was driving me crazy cause I visited bout 30 yrs ago and unfortunately have forgotten alot of the names of places. Thanks!!
9:05 the place were he jumps off the ship is actually the place were they hold life boats of some kind. So he probally dropped the life boat and then jumped off. It is the boat he tied himself to at the beginning of the trailer.
As a few others have mentioned the castle is at Mont St Michel. The first church was built on it in the 8th century However, I'm thinking that the nuns are in the building shown at 6:55 in your video. From the "first 10 minute" video we know that Daryl start his France journey in the Marseille area - which is on the Mediterranean & quite a distance from Mont St Michel
The abbey church you see is Mont Saint-Michel and, like the Pont du Gard (The aqueduct Daryl walked on) it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in France. It is built on a small rocky tidal island in Brittany (Or maybe Normandy) and is located about 1kilometer (0,62 mile) from the coast. In the past it was only accessible via the beach at low tide, at high tide it was completely surrounded by water. Today the island is accessible via a bridge.
The castle is the Mont St Michel located in the north west of France. During high tide you cannot access the « island »which make this place really great against walkers imo, a sort of natural shield.
I've been looking forward to this trailer reacton! The big castle is on the tidal island of Mont-Saint-Michel. The pistol Daryl used at the end would be a flintlock.
I don’t think that Laurent is immune, but I think he’s probably has something special in him like his blood that makes him invisible to the walkers because in one of the shots in the catacombs he’s almost surrounded by walkers and they seem to be ignoring him.
1:42 How I see "The Ones Who Live" is that it's going to be 1 season because I saw a video where Andrew Lincoln wished a fan a happy late birthday, but he said it was because of the filming of the miniseries, so that's how they pitched the script to him, and he's glad with that, although I do see him popping up in Daryl's show if they expand on that for more seasons.
Dea's picture where he has his crossbow, I say the scene could play out before he lands in France. He doesn't have his crossbow with him in any other picture. When he lands on the beach he doesn't have a crossbow either.
It's gonna be Daryl going on a cargo ship & hell breaks loose & that's where we first see variant running zombies and that's where we see Daryl jump off & he probably finds the boat & he gets knocked out and tied onto the boat.
I think the new villains are from the group that killed the scientist in the post credit scene from World Beyond. I think there are fewer variants because most people were already infected by the walker virus before the French scientists made it worse by creating the runner variant. French scientists were in the US when the outbreak occurred, the villains probably think Daryl is with those scientists and bringing something new and worse with him. My theory has always been that the virus was a military experiment to create a soldier that could continue fighting after being killed, but got accidentally released after reanimation was accomplished, but not higher functions. The French scientists made it worse by taking the experiment further and getting some higher, functions, hence memories, tool usage, running and climbing. Hoping to be able to control the walkers through commands…. Zombie soldiers.
I agree with your theory, very much my thoughts too. I think the French scientists might have actually caused the original outbreak 😷 in the US by taking their initial military research samples/results with them. I’m looking forward to seeing this series link in to the end credits scene of World Beyond. I struggled through most of that spin off but did enjoy the scientist bits throughout & the end credits scene made watching it worthwhile
@@seekingvision I was thinking the intent was an epipen type device that would have been used to inject a mortally wounded soldier on the battlefield, so put into one person at a time when they had no chance of survival, but it became airborne by accident.
Hey guys. I think they are gonna play the Last Of Us card with this one and say that Laurent is probably immune. And that the nuns of this monastery think that Laurent is some kind of profane gift from god or something. And i think Daryl's mission is gonna be getting Laurent to Paris, to the La Biomedicine Lab DDMI that we have in World Beyond. Also, i have a feeling that the villains of this show are former members of that convent who are now non-believers//zealots. And yeah, i think he is kidnapped by CRM but the ship they are on gets somehow infected by Variants and the cargo ship is destroyed.
Theory: Daryl finds ricks note in a bottle in someone's bag then follows that person onto the cargo ship trying to find out if they know anything about rick
Maybe you guys could also react to the first 10 minutes of the first episode that amc released? Its got a few interesting moments in it including maybe an easter egg to the walking dead:alien.
What is the time jump/ time line for this show? Just a thought, Daryl is from the Commonwealth, Rick has been at the Civic Republic, and Morgan was working for PADRE. Did the 3 of them reunite at Alexandria, and that’s why Daryl went to France?
The writing on that building spelt “Fuyet”which in English means “run away”. Btw I’m not French… so I may be wrong but I believe that’s what it says and means

If you watch the "First 10 Minutes" Trailer AMC released, there's a massive clue to the Variants towards the end when Daryl kills all those Walkers. Also I'm nearly positive that the gorgeous pale French woman in the trailers is the same woman from Inglorious Basterds. She is the Jew that escapes from under the house and causes havoc on the Nazis. Her name isnt listed anywhere with it. But I'm sure it's her.
Melanie Laurent? The one who played Shoshanna Dreyfus, a.k.a. Emmanuelle Mimieux? She doesn't look like her. The French actress from Inglourious Basterds looked different. She was thinner. And way more pretty.
@incubustimelord5947 You could be right. Its only flash scenes I've seen her in so far, so difficult to tell. She's great in Inglorious Basterds. Such a cool character. And really beautiful.
FUYEZ = Leave, Runaway, Flee etc. Either Laurent is the cure or he's the last surviving member of someone important, the President of France or whoever. I'm wondering if the nuns are at Notre-Dam de la Garde in Marseille and he has to take Laurent to Mont St Michel, which is a distance of 899km.
Okay, I'm just gonna say this again, as you keep talking about variants being all over the place and variants this, variants that, setting yourself up for a GIANT disappointment. They're VARIANTS, meaning they're not just this common occurrence all over the damn place, that doesn't make sense, otherwise they wouldn't be called variants. Not to mention that it could have been implied in that post-credits scene that the experimentation for a cure is what created those variants over there, not that they were there from the start. So seriously, if you really go into this show expecting 90% of the walkers to be variants, then oh boy are you going to be disappointed. Then again... it did take you almost a freaking year to figure out: "Big boat could have taken Daryl and then ended up on small boat to get to France." as if that's like solving the Da Vinci code or something... Shocker maybe guys, but you do know the sky is blue and that water is wet, right?
The castle is real, it's hundreds of years old, it's in north France and it's called St. Michel. It has no water around it because it becomes an island only when the tide rises.
Lol the nun knows Daryl is the one cos God told her 😂 Seriously though I think it’s going to be linked to some ancient prophecy. I’m wondering if Laurent is either immune or has some genetic reason why the Walkers seem to ignore him without him having to be covered in Walker guts 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t know why but I’m getting Royal Family vibes from how Laurent looks 😂 reminding me of portraits I’ve seen of French Kings before they cut off all their heads during their revolution. Don’t think that’s anything to do with the plot though, it’s just the visuals of the kid, his hair, the castle, the medieval vibes. The medieval weapons are going to be really interesting. Daryl with an ancient crossbow would be cool but way too heavy to carry far in reality
