  • UPRT is the way we prepare for the highly unlikely scenario of an extreme loss of control of the aircraft. In this video I'll show you how we prepare and avoid, as well as recover from these situations!

    I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the detailed simulations of the 'bus in MSFS and X Plane 12. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

    In daytime it must be frightening as hell seeing these upset situations as a passenger. During nighttime, or otherwise without visual reference points, I guess you may suffer from spatial disorientation, but oh my god

  • @vedymin1
    @vedymin1 Рік тому +3

    Also, if you are in imc and your instruments show an upset position, before you do anything wild with the controls, make sure its not just your instruments, check with the fo side and the standby instruments.

      Yes it occurred to me later that we could have gone a bit further! I suppose the key difference would be a quick transition from nose high to low, something perhaps for a future video!

    Brilliant video once again. I have a couple of recommendations for further videos. Remember how you brought your friend in to show us how to fly the 787 Heavy Division mod? Really loved that video and it would be fantastic if you could make the same type of video for the Salty Simulations 747. If possible I would also like a video on what the trim wheel is, how does it work and in what situations would I need to use it. Thanks again!

      Thanks Kobi! Glad you enjoyed it. Sadly I do not have any connections on the 747 right now as it has become rather rare but I will see what I can do. Trim wheel I will think about for the future, thank you!

    Ah I remember similar exercises from my gliding and PPL days. It was called "Recovery From Unusual Attitudes" both visual and under the hood. Landed feeling a bit green and worse for wear after some of these sessions! 🤢

    Saddest crash was air france 447. Pilots were not trained how to recover from high altitude stall. Even though it was FO Bonin who panicked and put the Airbus into a stall by pulling back on the side stick. That was due to peto tubes icing up and disengaging the AP.

    Great video, really interesting, it sounds like a great plane. As a passenger I was transfixed by the wing/engine wobbling about in turbulence, but as you explain, it’s all part of the plan ! Re your channel name - you are still a ‘320 simpilot’ 😂 what ever else you are also licensed to do !

    • @320SimPilot

    Just wondering if you pitch up + increase throttle, that can increase pitch up, can the inverse also be true if you are pitch down + decrease throttle can this also increase pitch down ?

    • @rmadridista369
      @rmadridista369 Рік тому

      not really. cuz the forces of the engines are just "extra" forces to "help" the pitch up moment. when pitching down, without any outside forces, the pitch down just depends on the upset itself
