Early 90's DOS games were magical. PoP is a prime example of what they were like... Retro but still modern at the same time. Really cool, I remember them fondly.

That computer came with a quite quantity of dos games like Titus the Fox, Electroman, Alone in the Dark, Domark F1 and Prince of Persia. One week after we got the computer, I was playing Prince of Persia, we needed to go to the church, and I didn't know how to quit the game to turn off the computer. It was a conmotion you see, none of us wanted to turn off the pc in a "forced way" because it could harm the newly computer, and we were scare to leave the computer turned on. So we called a technician from the store where we bought the pc. I only can imagine what that technician felt with a problem like that, I'm an IT guy after all. So, how was the "way" to quit the game? Just press Alt+Q. Ahh.. Prince of Persia. You will be in my heart untill I die.

I used to play this game on my old macintosh my parents bought to type their thesis in, back in 1996. I played it endlessly as a 5 yr old, and at least in my game it had an anti piracy thingy, and after level 1 you had to take two specific potions to go through. If you failed, you had to start from the beggining. We didn't have the manual so we just guessed every time. The farthest I got was the part where you cross the mirror. It was really eerie and fascinating to me, the duality, the reflection, the other "me". I remember I got to see the ending because my mother had a friend, and she was so good at the game. My mother, my sister and I would sit and watch her play until she beat the game. It was surreal. Good memories, it was a blast to watch this run.
I loved/hated this run. the ease of dominating a game that brought me much stress that I finally beat years later but this was very entertaining lol....kudos my friend

I played this game on my dads old sega around 2002-4. I never beat the second level as a kid because as he said this game is punishingly difficult so seeing all the levels I never got to after finding this video is like years of closure. Awesome run

What I devised when I was like 11yo (not as a speedruner haha, and that's the actual video times, not the speedrun time) : - lev3, 4:35 : long jump to skip the skeleton (same that in the video) ; - lev8, 8:49 : when the guard wait for you just push down and mash shift key, the time to sheat your sword, draw it again and hit, meet exactly the time for him to decide to move forward. Not so fast but I believe it works 100% times ; - lev8, 10:06 : shift-walk so the green guard won't turn and you can attack him from the back when you're up Other things : 16:45 : As far as I remember, the saving mechanism was available only after level 3, and left you with only 15 minutes when you restore. 17:30 : Never saw this trick ! But do you need to merge with the ghost for the magical slabs to appear? Thanks you for the memories.

How do you do the screen wrap at 14:10? I manage to jump and directly catch the edge and hang onto it but then I just keep on hanging there. Your other teleports work for me.
When my mirror dude closed the door and I had to catch the ledge I let Prince fall to his death repeatedly a few times, that screaming was so much fun! I eventually learned how to beat the game, we were so young but had patience, went a little bit further every time
That's because there isn't one. Once you pick up the sword in level one, it is automatically drawn when an enemy is near. As he mentioned in this run, he skips picking it up by glitching through the guard, and the game assumes you have it on level 2. But in casual, you have to grab the sword from the far left of level 1 first.
