    The craziest thing about the books is that it was essentially about how power corrupts absolutely but through the lens of 13 year old mean girls and I think that’s brilliant

    I genuinely think reading The Clique as a nerdy, socially anxious twelve-year-old was kind of bad for me? I wasn't confident enough in myself not to take the books as guidebooks and Massie's opinions as gospel. But on the other hand... it's also at least a _little_ funny that I actually stayed away from Keds because of how much they got dumped on in these books

    I’ve never actually watched the movie *but* I do remember a website called SugarLoot running an online contest to star in this film. I believe the actress who played Claire won the contest! I remember auditioning for it thinking I would shoot to stardom playing Massie, even though I auditioned with Claire’s script. I even remember the mention of tasting pennies from the script 😂 Such a funny lil memory

    I was inspired by this so rewatched The Clique and OMG it was so gay. Massie hates Claire for no reason, is absolutely obsessed with her, gives her a nickname. 👀
    Their final scene had so much eye contact. When Massie says “I’d rather be a friendless loser too” it’s like a love confession.

I was heartbroken bc i didn’t get to finish it!!     In the book, it explains the friendless loser concept a little bit better than the movie...basically...in both situations we’re technically alone...but at least if we chose the other option...at least we’ll be surrounded by people
