aleksi is one of my favorite players and im super stoked to see him do this all the time now on all sorts of maps. the creativity thats gunna hit the game will be nuts
I shit you not I was looking for a demo of Aleksi to see the new nade changes in action 4hours ago and was praying for a vod on this and it was already 6hours old on your channel. We blessed
Ever since aleksib was bullshittingly dropped from ENCE I've loved him, and I love him more and more for every event OG plays in. This is part of why that is.
This ct spawn position is so op now that the ct can basically have a reserve of nades and cat plays are so used on Dust 2. Gonna have to adapt. Fun to see things change though.
yeah, when ts throwing one way smoke and shit, and a lot of times they just sitting in short, that choke point gonna be problem for Ts now, people can just throw 2-3 nades in 10 seconds time
when launders mentioned that one of the only ways to counter he grenades is to "draw them out" that made me think that decoys might be used to bait out he nades (and maybe decoys will have other uses also) and with droppable utility you can buy a decoy without sacrificing your other utility what do think
well now you can fake flash around a corner by dropping a decoy, or dropping a flash and then just picking it back up. I've tried it a few times and people are turning away
It’s pretty crazy tbh I had a similar reaction. Imagine a round on CT inferno where u start 3b for banana ctrl and you just have all 5 players throw down whatever extra piece they can throw. The guy who runs back to a can just go pick up nades and fill back up. These “bonus nades” are gonna be huge for the next few months, fuck maybe even a year. This is really sick
Gotta say I like the nade update, but couldnt they wait till after the major? Not much time left, much could change in little time. We had 2 years without a major, why do it now? Must suck so hard for NaVi.
@@BoogieWoogieCat So if Navi wins the major they'll get the credit of having grinded with the new meta but if another teams wins it's fuck them they didn't do shit to improve I guess, because they weren't the #1 team. @@MrJeanjean2009 Any top team before the update that wins the major deserves the credit. But I guess the point is saying NAVI has the most to lose because their the best team in the world.
Mohan, i remember being a fan in 2015, u were good back then, MUCH quieter and not as 'entertaining', the change to today is NUTS, insane development. Fun to watched and to have watched the progess.
droppable nades make so much sense. Like in DOTA, a lot of great support player start as a carry player and change to support when they older, wiser. They can use their macro skill to offset their worsen micro skill because of age. This droppable nades thing will change how IGL work and how long a player can play at the highest level of CS.
This nade update has been in my head completely for the past week now. In my games it isn't anything crazy, only dropping smokes for the person who knows the lineup or a flash to a player so that someone can make a play, but just thinking about the depth of strategy that can be achieved with this new meta boggles my mind. Is it effectively a more ct-sided buff? I view it as HEs and molotovs having a greater efficacy on the CT side, so greater ability to use them freely in the most high value choke points could level the playing field in a sense with the CTs having a far worse economy. Chip damage occurring more often to allow for a faster time to kill for CTs. Molotovs and smokes concentrated in a certain area to hold off pushes. The possibilities are endless. How to best work it into the t-side strategy isn't something my tiny brain can handle. Besides the ability to string flashes from a valuable area during an execute, not much comes to mind. I think the mind games are going to be on full display with fakes, faked fakes, and all else. What about shooting grenades to get them to a place where they need to be??? To be fair they go flying, but maybe you could make it work to allow nearly instantaneous transport of grenades? There's that one clip of a guy shooting a smoke to a teammate in long pit which helped him secure a multikill. Just watching alexib truly push the new meta as far as he could take it with how little time he's had to prepare it is crazy. So entertaining. Paired with the new Dust 2 it was really a treat. Sprout's not a bad team right, how the hell is a team getting 14 rounds on ct side Dust 2??? It's a bad experiment since two variables were changed, it's impossible to say how much is owed to dropping nades and the mid rework. You could see the easier ability of taking mid and lower tuns control helped OG place a heavier stack towards A on a few rounds. And all the HE damage on the grouping players on Cat and lower tuns was nasty. The future is unclear but that's exciting! Two major map changes, new nades, buffed a1-s and nerfed deagle (saw electronic bring out the five seven earlier and almost every rocking the silencer). I know voocsgo will be feeling conflicted with the weapons changes. I know it's a wall of text and a rant, but this is just so exciting! If only valve could have acted on the uptick in interest in csgo by creating an even better casual experience for the newcomers and the people returning. Short matches are a start but there needs to be more! (Also maybe an overlooked map where a utility stockpile could be sueful would be CT Nuke? Hell is pretty central for an outside rotator and the ramp anchor so maybe some HEs or smokes there could be very useful)
I love csgo and therefore didn't have any problem with reading your rant. I just wanna share some of my thoughts on the nade update specifically. One idea I had about what teams could do on T side would be to maybe keep re-executing. Especially on maps, where rotations through T spawn are more common (D2, Mirage, maybe Vertigo) and could definitely shift the meta of these maps imo. Another thing: I actually thought that Nuke could just be one of the worse nade stockpile maps for CTs because of how far back the CT spawn is. Compared to other maps where CTs rotate directly through spawn (Inferno, Mirage, D2, Overpass, Vertigo, *maybe* even Ancient), Nuke's spawn is a little too deep, considering how fast rotations sometimes have to be and considering how often Ts infiltrate the Hell area. However, I could imagine a nade stash on Nuke CT spawn on A-retake heavy strats. E.g. when CTs overstack outside or ramp, they can pick up nades without losing too much time (often have to wait out T util like mollies anyways) and without too much risk for the A retake. Maaan, it really is exciting! Edit: Something I forgot to mention. Teams will only be able to maximize grenade stashes if they have the money for that. That could mean so many things! Maybe T sides will be stronger than before because Ts usually have more money? Maybe, in addition to the Deagle nerf, we will see less force-buys or less money spent on low-/force-buys?
i'm glad you enjoy the drop grenade change, idk about the integrity of the game but it looks like some additional spice. thorin seemed really upset about it - I do want s1mple to get the major though
this demo just confirmed what i thought: personally, this nade drops is one of the best updates i've seen if not the best, just imagine the possibilities
The thing is, when valve makes changes to the game it usually brings out a completely new exploitable meta that favors those adaptable players for a couple weeks until valve decides to fix the issues theyve created, and thats what the community is used to. So i understand why people overreact to these kinds of updates cause being able to drop grenades feels like such a big deal. But it just adds that little nuance to the gameplay that really shouldve been there the whole time, it opens up a lot of new opportunities and brings out the importance of utility especially on ct side
Here's what the nade dropping update has done. It has given the long touted and speculated "Role/Support" players an actual task. How many times have we seen players who are more known for their ability to aim and click M1 die with utility? Tonnes! Now, the IGL and the supports can use those nades to execute strats without the star players needing to worry about learning nades and stuff like that which adds a new dimension to the game. We've yet to see the update implemented and exploited to its fullest potential so maybe it is a bad update but for now, we'll get to see the big brain IGLs brainstorm ideas before the major
The stash of nades in spawn is so good for someone playing off them like this. Super excited to see how this plays out. My Anders-esqe insane theorycraft idea is a team on Inferno having someone shoot all their HE’s up to B from CT Spawn, and have the banana player just decimate a B rush with 5 beautifully placed nades.
Lau or lau’s editor if you see this: Videos with edits and intros and everything look absolutely amazing! Please keep up the fantastic work always a big fan
it'll be cool to see how the tiny update changes the game. day 1 i had a game end 16 14 after a 1v1 where deagle would have gotten the kill on old update and the game woulda went to ot. very cool how the little shit can effect the game
Basically when taking the A site, the T's need to get a lurker to CT spawn to take control of the nades and possibly kill the CT that is fetching them?
ENCE vs G2 on D2 IEM Fall. You'll find the crazy drop flashes and fake. Snappi faked long a few times while his team pushed short. And players were caught rotating to long. Good demo!
Now that I think about it your team can probably have a cache of extra grenades in CT spawn for the retake LOL So if everyone buys an additional nade that’s like 4-5 extra useful pieces of utility depending on if you smoke the cross.
I just realized it will probably be meta at top level to drop a he in spawn and then buy the rest of your utility. Since you can buy an extra nade after getting rid of one. So pros will do that as long as they have enough money to.
As i recall HE could be dropped upon death in older versions of CS. Like 1.5? Maybe even 1.3, then they added in riot shields and removed the "dropping" feature... It really changed CS for me as I loved throwing some good nades. I still get lucky here and there but this update will be big for me. Awesome
holy fuck dude this was so funny I love this video so much. Second only to "you know how it has that bit in the dictionary, where it has the phoe the phone the ph"
Honestly the first thought that came to my mind when I heard of this update was how you could drop nades in spawn and use them for fakes. It's dope to see someone just use grenades alone to do chip damage/potentially fake how many players are in an area.
The value for UD and EF in the scoreboard only refreshes on a new round. It's made that way so you can't look at the value mid-round to see if you've damaged someone or flashed someone. Seems to work the same while reviewing the demos. At 15:28 you can see the player avatar's and their health at the top of the screen when you're following the grenade path. It does significant damage but somehow it didn't show up when you toggled to spectator hud. And it will not show in the scoreboard until the next round. Great demo review as always big man.
I think this new update will benefit Aleksib. He is a utility master and a big part of his playstyle is based on playing around utility, especially smokes.
love your work launders! new nade meta is going to result in some amazing plays when the big brain IGL's get their heads around it. I'm sure booml4 is coming up with some plays for the boys so that s1mple can still get that major ;-)
Some team is gonna create a grenade supply chain. A line of players from spawn and the last dude throws a ton of nades from a good position with a supply, without committing multiple players to a position.
have you ever considered doing a classic demo review? like maybe reviewing a demo from 2015 and comparing it with the current meta/playstyles or something, feel like it could be cool :) love the videos keep up the content man
Thinking on it, droppable nades will be a buff for CTs on maps where they commonly rotate through CT spawn (ancient, overpass, dust2)... Ts will get it too but not to the same extent?
I don't think sprout even knew that OG were doing this during the game. OG didn't do crazy stacks and rotates, there were always 2-3 people around aleksi that could've thrown those nades and the biggest damage those nades did was misinformation, instead of confirming 1 here, 1 there, its maybe 1 here, maybe 1 there and aleksi kept on moving as he threw those nades, he rarely was on the same position sprout called.
I was watching this match and I said this in the chat also. I feel like during that game people finally realised and appreciated Aleksib's utility and specifically nade usage. In my opinion it's flown under so many peoples radar. He is so good with utility, but sadly it doesn't show itself in many of the main stats, so people don't appreciate it. It's great in my opinion and in the long term I think that dropping nades will add something special without actually changing the game, like Launders said
This is amazing, too bad that Valve realised now that we don't need big changes to the game to keep it fun so we didn't have to go through the op CZ, Tec9, AUG, Krieg metas as well as unnecessary nerf to the AWP.

It's great in my opinion and in the long term I think that dropping nades will add something special without actually changing the game, like Launders said
25:04 You WHATT Lau? haha jk love the vids brutha
AleksiB looking like Big Daddy Notail in the in-game thumbnail
This is amazing, too bad that Valve realised now that we don't need big changes to the game to keep it fun so we didn't have to go through the op CZ, Tec9, AUG, Krieg metas as well as unnecessary nerf to the AWP.
Do Rez VS FaZe on Ancient.
Also I'd love to see an Oskar demo. Underrated player imo.
You're Lookin HAWT Today!
Aleksib : Breaks the utility damage record for a match
launders : So many missed HE's, so bad
i love the edits. Raw is good, but people can find them in your twitch vods. IMO the edits elevate your vids, love what you're doing!
