I think it's the single best encounter Destiny has had. I absolutely love having an encounter where all 6 people have to be on their toes the entire time and everyone has a role. You can't just throw 2 people on ad clear. I'll admit the bugs can ruin it, but when it works properly, which is more often than not, it's SUCH a good encounter.
I love this theme I even made my own headcanon raid like right before Curse of Osiris DLC a Red Legion General has devised a plan to blow up Mars and having the astroids from said destroyed planet to destroy Earth. Like you fight him and his army in the core of mars this is basically like a all or nothing gambit like how they tried using the Almighty

I think there's a grimoire card that talks about how the psions were holding Phobos in place like a weapon, so a raid like that could technically happen
I miss this boss fight honestly. I kind of hold hope that we get a remastered Leviathan "mega-raid" that would just be a rotation of Calus, Val Ca'uor and Argos... Just have those fights back to back and call it a day.
Somthing I think if they put the effort into making would be the leviathan raids but now with the shadow legion and pyramid tech themed encounter changes. But I can only dream
This was a theme for the final boss of a raid lair called "spire of stars". This raid lair was incredibly buggy and difficult. This raid and other raids are now sunset and cannot be played again.
Hearing this again really shines how bungie's approach to music has changed completely. There are so many choices in this theme that probably would be very different if it were made (or remade) now
It was kind of a weird track even for the time. Calus, Aksis, and Oryx are all relatively modern when it comes to how the boss tracks were composed for their respective fight. Argos, Ca'uor, Crota, and Atheon are kind of the odd ones out.
It's too bad that we're usually busy screaming callouts and for the ball passes to actually hear the boss theme in this encounter lmao. I hated Spire so much because it had so many failure points. Fail to pass the ball properly? Wipe. Fail to blow up the ships on time? Wipe. Fail to hit the ball on Calus's Spirit Bomb? Wipe. Fail to DPS enough? Wipe. DPS enough and kill Val Ca'Uor but bugs out for SOME reason? He dies, but you wipe anyway. -_-
That's what makes a raid good. Destiny raids are nearly impossible to wipe in, Val Cau'uor and Riven legit are such incredible fights and a great change of pace from the usual certified destiny snoozefest

Eater of Worlds Take janitor duty for Calus to deal with his Axis Mind problem before it takes over the leviathan. Mid level stakes since the Vex taking the ship would probably be bad. Spire of Stars Stop the red legions new leader from taking control of the leviathan. High stakes since the red legion winning would be VERY BAD for humanity. Crown of Sorrow Once again take up janitor duty to help deal with Calus's basement problem. Low stakes for us since it's not our ship but bad for Calus.
