What are your thoughts on Lindsay and Carl's claims on their breakup now that you've seen it all play out? Was Lindsay blindsided? Did Carl not mean to breakup?

Interesting how we have now heard the landlord and police were called several times by neighbors. Really?? They thought marriage would be a good idea?!! Crazy.

Lindsay isn't Ariana as much as she tried to make Carl be Sandavol. Ariana went on with her life while Lindsay went on a world tour trashing Carl. She should probably stop jumping from relationship to relationship and spend some time alone to figure out why all of her relationships keep blowing up.

Excellent point @lynnbendy and very well said! Lindsay has major issues and really needs to work on herself. I can't handle another season of single, needy Lindsay!

Taking her back is not working things out. Taking her back indicates she has to change.

I don’t know if Lindsey was blindsided or not, but I know marrying Karl would ruin her life.

I think that Carl and Lindsey are both problematic, but Lindsey is significantly more problematic.

Carl said point-blank before he left that he didn't think they should get married. Andy made the point that production was following up with both couples after a disastrous summer. The audience saw with their own eyes Lindsey being drunk and interpreting every conversation as Carl being aggressive, abusive, and changing while she was under the influence. Lindsey’s career and finances are not that much different from Carl's, and he brings home almost a 3/4 of a million dollars a year. Despite this, she complained about him taking time to figure out what he wants to do after decades of being an addict, which she weaponized the whole summer. Lindsey is psychotic and thrives on drama and conflict; that would have been his whole life moving forward. The fact that she thought that was normal is incredibly problematic. People are excusing her behavior because they like her as a reality star, and they are villainizing Carl because they don't like him as a man for themselves.

One of the best assessments of the Carl/ Lindsay debacle!! While I do think she thought she was blindsided I don't actually think she was if that makes sense! And...idk how he didn't lose it on her when she accused him of acting like cocaine Carl.....

Carl earns money from the show but when Lindsey talks about a "job", she doesn't include the show. And I think that's reasonable. It's not a job in the sense of having any longevity or stability.

Yes and yes. During the season, she said that her concerns about Carl's lack of employment were related to his ability to make money/sustain them if/when she became pregnant or was on maternity leave. Which Carl took in and seemed to understand when they were at their (tenuous) best.
It did require filling in the blanks a bit after that, but the reality of their lives as personalities or influences means that she would not be as focused on bringing them both brand deals, as well as the likelihood that both of them would need to either leave the show temporarily or significantly reduce their roles. The focus on how much each of them made in this exact moment didn't seem to be Lindsay's point as much as it was used to defend Carl.
The rest of the cast so vehemently disagreeing with Lindsay on this particular issue (the job search/career progression) felt silly since everyone else on the show works (which has always been the norm for SH). Paige even mocked Lindsay last year for not having a real job.

I think not being able to talk about Summer House being a job is part of the problem. Not just from the perspective of making the majority of their income from it, but what growing up/out of that lifestyle would mean. It's unspoken, but having children would mean they will probably not be on the show anymore because it's about a party house and the original cast members are getting to an age where it's less socially acceptable to be party animals. This isn't the only Reality TV cast who is becoming sober and settling down. Lindsay seems like she doesn't want to miss out on the opportunity to have a safe pregnancy. The anger likely stems from thinking they were on the same page about moving on with their lives, but him not being ready. She has expressed feeling like she has had crucial years wasted.

I don't think it matters that we all could see RadHouse *_shouldn't_* get married. We saw no indication that Lindsay would've ended their engagement; and we saw Carl tell Lindsay that they have serious problems, he's had second thoughts, BUT that he was committed to working on their issues (sometimes in the same sentence). I mean, they had couples therapy scheduled for that very day.
That's enough to understand how she could be caught off-guard, even if the end result was the right one. _The bigger question_ (if I were her therapist or good girlfriend) is why she was willing to push through in the face of so much dysfunction and unhappiness.
