@@cmartsolfMy Iron Lung builds almost the exact same way (probably because it's about how much they hate this song). It may not have the same amount of emotion in it, but it still conveys the message really well and might be one of their best overall songs. The bends in general is an awesome album. Pablo Honey was definitely their worst.
I am English and what I really love about this song is how it pulls everyone together. Just look at the various languages in this comment section alone. Some might not even understand the lyrics but it still gets into them anyway. Fantastic song fantastic performance. It's just great to be human sometimes.
So true...the emotions of this song are universal. I fell for an english guy in the past and although I am Greek I felt that this song was written for me...
This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen. Not the singing, not the looks, not the show... It's something about him transporting the message.
Nobody's going to talk about the tremendous job of that guitarist..i mean to sustain that hell of rhythm with his hands to get those chords..i can't stop watching him and thinking how hard it must be...great great job. BRAVO!
The part that hit home for me and sent this song into the stratosphere was the guitar going bam bam, I hit the floor at that moment and it was an instant love for this song. No more to be said, well done. Ur Highest Level Angel here here.❤
this version kinda broke me idk how to explain it and his performance is amazing , he seems so hurt , the way he puts all his emotion on the song is incredibly beautiful this song touches my soul and heart its so special to me
His expression right after the "run" part gets me so hard. In a way, it's such a relatable emotion. I listen to this version every once in a while, but today it really made me tear up.
Thom, love you brother. Your pain, your agony has given us company, the ignored ones, the silent ones, in our corners with nothing and no one, we’ve lived by your work, your voice, your expression for decades as we slowly inch towards our ends. to be able to find some beauty in our rottenness, it has always been an honour living in the same time as you, i only come back to this video for the ‘run’ to experience the ethereal vain in your voice and the absolute tragedy you become during this performance, allowing us to accept our eventual fates with grace, Thom and Radiohead, forever, thank you.
Lyrics for Creep by Radiohead When you were here before Couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world I wish I was special You're so fuckin' special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doin' here? Whether you’re male or female I think we’ve all been in the place of the singer of this song thats been rejected or ever felt not worthy to be with someone special
I agree , a very heartfelt rendition, thank you for posting that. Tom Yorke delivered it with all his soul, it shows. Creep is the song that made me discover Radiohead almost 30 years ago and it still have a grasp on me, like many others...
Every time I watch this performance, I'm always struck by the change in the female fan's facial expression from 2:22 - 2:26. Smiles and laughter with her friends that drains away to a plaintive, lonely stare. I've always thought those few seconds perfectly embodied this song's message.
no idea why but that girl is the reason I love this video so much, never realized how she looks away to be blank but just HER, in the moment is so addicting to watch. knowing that she is old, or even dead, is truly an amazing thing to realize with that.
Maybe they weren't actually friends..............kinda the sadder version of seeing things but I think there's a shot that might have been the case. Just strangers to one another. Smile in a moment, but a moment never lasts. A stranger never sticks around
There are songs that stands the test of time and sound great. Then there is this song that literally sends you on an emotional journey, his live version, expressions, tone all also make the song like no other emotionally.
I saw Radiohead in South Park, Oxford, after saying they were never going to play Creep again, Tom’s guitar string snapped twice, they played this. It was pissing it down with rain and I still get goosebumps now thinking of it.
This song is for the outcasts, the afraid, the hated, the self hated, the people that tell themselves they want to be left alone but really just want someone to talk too. And most of all, the Creeps.
Back in 2007, my girl played this song for me on a particularly bad day. She said that the song reminded her of me and to remember that all of us feel the same way at times. Rest in peace, Honey.
It took a long time for me to comprehend that art like this is inspired by more than a drive to entertain and to merely perform. I'm just really dumb. This guy is really pouring it out. We need more guys like this.
Thom put everything into this. You can see him wipe away a tear at 3.59. I understand now why he doesn't want to revisit this song. I'm not sure many people singing along in the audience can even relate to it, the paranoid feeling of being a weird creep that doesn't belong.
every now and then something like this really hits too close to home. but he wrote this. this is home. if you've ever listened to tool, there are a few songs the singer says he'll never play live because they're too hard for him. like this song, it's just too painful. i dont blame them one bit, I'm just grateful songs like this let me know im not alone
he put NOTHING into this! LAZIEST shot at this song I've heard. I love Thom York...However, This was horrible. no passion, no emotion...this the most phoned in performance ever...
After all the live performances i watched, this is really the best one. The Tempo, The sound quality (even if its seperate from the vid), the voice, the vid aesthetics, the crowd and the emotion everything's fucking perfect
this song has been there for me through many rough times , i first discovered it when i was a very edgy and lonely kid around 7-8 , also bullied for my eye disability. whenever i came home from school and finished my homework , this song kept me company when my friend was abusing me mentally , when my family was abusing me emotionally , and during my suicidal thoughts , i'm not gonna say that the song saved me since it's an exaggeration , but it definetly made my day brighter during those hard times , and that's why i love it to my heart ❤

I might be wrong, but it's not run, run, run, in telling her to run. It's ran, ran, ran, in that she ran away. If the lyrics I have read are right then it's soooooo much more tragic 😭
God I still love this song even with one foot in the grave lol. They just floated my boat with their meaningful lyrics and the ablity to change their persona and beautiful demeanour from song to song. A once in a generation band and I had the good fortune to be in their era, got buy some songs and Albums, even go to a few of their gigs in the UK and USA. True hall of famers.
An amazing performance. And as is so often the the case, whilst Yorke and Johnny are fabulous, the drummer is absolutely en pointe and incredible and holding all of it together beautifully
Here in 2025. Feeling pretty horrible to be honest but at least I know myself and plenty of other people really resonate with this song to this day. I wish you all the best.
Thom's genuine quality in this brings to one feeling an intimate experience - as in he is singing to you and only you. The tender passion in his face, his vocals, and even the way he holds the microphone reflect both a talent and a heart that is impossible to fake.
Totally agree my friend. Only other band who’s had the same effect was Jarvis Cocker with pulp. Creep though, a masterclass on how to perform an amazing tune 11/10, top marks . Still makes me cry at 60.... Timeless, take care my friend, shine on 🌠
As a 36 year old that recently got diagnosed with ASS this song resonates with me unlike anything else.., from the very first time that i've heard it...
Will Thom ever know how many people this single song has impacted and (like mine) has become my anthem? Before it's release, mental illness was not publicly discussed nor understood. We all were left to feel like outsiders for which we had no control over. I know he hates this song, but his voice gave so many others voice (like mine) meaning.
I’m a Radiohead fan, I never told anyone that. But one time we had to do a project and talk about something we like. (Music band/artist, person and etc. Literally ANYTHING.), I said to the teacher “Radiohead?…”. Guess what she responded with. She said “oh wow, that’s a really good band. I listened to their songs when I was in cegypt. I love them too.” I was so happy, and she asked my crush that if he knows them too, because it definitely does look like he does. And he said yes. Made me even happier. She asked the rest of the people in my classmate if they know the, no one knew except the 3 of us. She then said jokingly “you guys are not cultured.” It was obvious she said it jokingly and not rudely, she was smiling. She said we could listen to one of their songs or album at the end, my crushoash asked if we could listen to the album “In Rainbows” and she said yes. But everyone was too slow to finish their work and supposedly she forgot about it lol.
I feel like none of the kids in that crowd really understood this song. As a teenager, we might have been able to relate to the words.. But those of us who grew up and developed massive anxiety, insecurities, fear of success or intimacy... It started to feel like the music that plays in the pause menu when i stop for two seconds to think about what the hell is going on in my life.
No, you're wrong. Everyone can relate. I'm 32 yo now, but when I was a teen, I felt the same. But maybe with less experience. But this song is mostly about what is going on inside of you.

It may not have the same amount of emotion in it, but it still conveys the message really well and might be one of their best overall songs. The bends in general is an awesome album. Pablo Honey was definitely their worst.

I heard this song done by Jay Gearhart and thought it was the best of all. But I finally hear the true artist and it blew my mind. Omg! Thank you!
He wiped tears from his eyes in the third verse
Every time I watch this performance, I'm always struck by the change in the female fan's facial expression from 2:22 - 2:26. Smiles and laughter with her friends that drains away to a plaintive, lonely stare. I've always thought those few seconds perfectly embodied this song's message.
no idea why but that girl is the reason I love this video so much, never realized how she looks away to be blank but just HER, in the moment is so addicting to watch. knowing that she is old, or even dead, is truly an amazing thing to realize with that.

Thom put everything into this. You can see him wipe away a tear at 3.59. I understand now why he doesn't want to revisit this song. I'm not sure many people singing along in the audience can even relate to it, the paranoid feeling of being a weird creep that doesn't belong.
