I used the krylon matte UV resistant clear acrylic coat on a wood burning project and got that film as you mentioned. Can I fix it? I don’t want to redo it if I can fix it. It’s my first project and it turned out beautifully until this 😢
Maybe try another spray on top to get rid of the film. Lacquer has always worked well for me. I don’t know if that will work, so test it on a scrap piece of wood first.
Noob question: do you recommend doing this on the small rounds that are just a few inches? I plan to make some Xmas ornaments, so I'm not sure if varnishing is really necessary for something like that?
You’re right; the smalls are less susceptible to warping. I have some small Xmas ornaments from 2016 that still look the same. Just know that over a period of several years, color may fade (if you add paint) or the wood color might change. Depending on how you store when you’re not using; it may take decades before it changes though. It’s a judgement call really.
Thank you. This was a very helpful tutorial.
Another worthwhile video!! 👍👍
