To these two young men, when asked why have rules (Or why God has rules?) I would have said that the rules that God has are to protect us from consequences of the immoral and dangerous acts if we commit them. Give them examples that someone their age can relate to. Acts that can ruin our lives. Then go on and talk about what are the eternal consequences of the sins committed, but if we acknowledge that we are a sinner and believe in Jesus Christ as the Saviour then we will be saved from those damming, eternal consequences and also have Someone in this life who we can come to for help and guidance. Just a thought.
