California Strawberry Production

This video details the California strawberry production system, from bed-shaping to drip tape removal. Footage was filmed by Ruijun Qin of UC Davis, who is researching efficient means of fumigant application. This strawberry project is part of the National Strawberry Sustainability Initiative (NSSI), a grants program funded by the Walmart Foundation and administered by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Center for Agricultural and Rural Sustainability.

This is not very friendly use of soil. All that old plastics that turn into pieces now will me mixed into soil. With years you can turn it into trash. But I think you only rent and care not.

This tractor compacts the soil which reduces oxygen in the soil and killing the soil biology which feeds nutrients to your plants. U of NM proved that soil biology has stronger correlation to crop yields than does fertilizer applications.
