I'm 57 years old have been high climbing since I was 16 years old. The gentleman who taught me how to climb was also a leatherworker and after my initial training he built me the finest leather tree saddle I've ever had and I still use it today. Thank you Ralph Boudin , not only are you my teacher what a great American Woodsman and logger
Ive been a climber for 25yrs now I do it every day, no stunts though! One of the ol guy's that helped me in my rookies years started rigging spar poles for simpson timber co. for 12 dollars a day. Al Hickson was his name over in shelton wa. One of my jobs was his last day of climbing he helped me by taking down 2 125ft firs while I took down 2 larger ones he was 74 yrs old that was in nov 2002 i think he passed away feb 2003 from liver cancer he was a funny tough old dude RIP Al we love ya!
May he RIP. Seemed like a hell of a climber to be up there in his 70s. I can only imagine being able to climb past 50 being I'm 30 with the back of a 50 year old already. Daddy always said I would find out the hard way lifting heavy things I wasn't suppose too. I pray for all climber that work hard for there family's everyday. Tree work and climbing isn't for the faint of heart or whimpering sniffles from words out of mouth.. We stand stand tall and face it All down deep in the South! 💯🙏🏼💪🏼
