Wow what an excellent outcome. The roof did not look so bad until the job was finished and the contrast with the roof beside could be seen. I continue to admire your skill and expertise at these jobs Nick. I dont know if all pressure washing companies in England tackle roofs, but I can easily see how that would not be the case. They are time and labour intensive, set up and take down is a multiple step process done several times at one job, lots of clean up involved, not to mention battling wind and other obstacles like extensions, lean tos etc. At least this was a completely drama free job! Very good work, Nick! The new homeowners will marvel at their clean, new looking roof every day they come home. The adjoining neighbors must cringe every day they come home to their dirty rooftops. Your ladder assembly skills are just as impressive as the roof cleaning skills.

Your music choices....fantastic. 🎶 This one and the others you have done over the years look like new roofs. We see you refining your cameraman skills. 😉 Thanks for sharing, Nick. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
You are so welcome Coppertop, thanks for the awesome compliments 😊. Think i've finally found a music style that most people like, including myself, that doesn't offend the people who don't like music, it's only taken me a few years, but seem to have got there eventually 😆
Worked my way through sorting what you said, and to prevent leakage, from construction style and thin tiles, you chose scraping over the risk of pressurized water. Good to know that Hypo and Biocide work out to have about the same result, statistically. Today is going to have a Grime Line aspect. The scraping work is doing a good, neat job. That was a nice color change. The roofs you did before look lovely. Holding-up well.
Awesome roof cleaning! The new homeowners will be very pleased with the results. The roofs of the other homes viewed also look awesome! You do great work!
Thank you Nick for moving your scaffolding just for us! It really was nice to see it all in all. Your roofing line skills are great! I am amazed that the roofs stay so clean, for years even!! I guess I thought they had to be done every other year. I feel sorry for the neighbor which is the other half, silly I know. The neighbor on the left really needs their back yard patio cleaned, it is black!! And deadly. Anyhow, hope you are having a great day! Take care of yourself!
My house was built in 1937. AFAIK it has the original tiles on the main roof and there's no roofing felt. Some shifted and some cracked tiles so will need repairing soon. It's a terracotta tile but they're BLACK from 90 years of schmutz etc. My kitchen extension we felted and retiled 20yrs ago. Two years ago I got up there (lean-to roof) and used the surface cleaner on it, rinsed then sprayed it down with my garden sprayer with 2 whole bottles of Tesco's citrus bleach and 10 litres of warm water, let it dwell for 20 mins before rinsing it all off. Still looks like I just cleaned it so it's lasted well. Love your vids, wish my roof was in better condition for you to work your magic on. The transformation would be HUGE. All the roofs in my road are in dire need of a clean, you'd be busy for a month solid.
It's been an age since I've seen a good, old-fashioned scraping! It has a special charm all its own. At least the watching part does - the doing part probably isn't nearly as fun! 😂 Interesting discussion in hypo vs biocide. You're so good to us, finding something new to show us and explaining your thoughts. Such a nice job - good line, very clean and who knew it was such a pretty color? Great video again.. enjoy what and how you do it.. bewildered well from a old man living in the rural mountains of central California.., USA..
I don't remember when I last saw you scraping, wow 😮 Still so neat, especially the change of the literally black roof on the back was awesome. The condition of cleaning the roof is very understandable. If the tiles are thin and there is no protective layer under them, then you really shouldn't take the risk of moss causing cracks in your tiles. For the very same reason it's absolutely understandable that you didn't want to pressure wash. With a result like this definitively not a bad choice at all.
I really enjoy watching your channel, it’s one of my favorites. It might sound weird but my favorite part is watching you when you’re washing it, I like the foaminess. Thanks for your wonderful videos. I watch them each night before bed.

Lol, you noticed that then 😁. These scraping blades get rounded off at the ends fairly quickly so I just cut them down with an angle grinder, until they’re so short they need replacing. This one needs replacing 😆

Hello Nick I have thought about using hypo through my Progreen dosing box. I use Algoclear Pro Biocide on the roofs.. Do you use a dosatron or a backpack to do the job.? Also , what ratio do you use for the hypo roof clean.? Cheers mate....
Hi Chris, if you've got a dosing box, it's likely to be a dosatron, I think i'm right in saying that different dosatrons are used for hypo than bac50 or ddac, so probably best to find out for sure if you can put hypo through it. The people you bought it from will know for sure. I have a Honda Roltek for bigger jobs, but use a Gardiner backpack for smaller jobs like this. I do 1 part hypo, 3 parts water mate, with added surfactant for the foam 👍
Hello Sir Nick. Isn't it a bit odd that when you clean these homes that have two dwellings in them, and only one side of the total roof is clean, and the other is not, I would think that maybe the other tenant would like to complete the clean by having their side done as well, so the building as a hole is completely clean, a much more cohesive look, yes ?? or is that just me ?
You're 100% correct and totally agree with you mate, hypo is a biocide as well, I should have been clearer when talking in the vid, when I said biocide, I meant BAC50 or DDAC, but didn't make that very clear. Thanks for the great comment Sean 👍
I don't mean this in a rude way at all, but, is there a functional reason to clean a roof, or is it cosmetic only? I understand floors, they can get slippery and unsafe. But I assume walls and roofs are just for the look of it? Again, don't mean it in any sort of an unkind way, just curious is all!
@@matt07080 I have a Roltek pump and use Gardiner backpacks. Will use the Roltek on bigger jobs, but for smaller ones like this, I find it more convenient to use the Gardiner

Yeeeeeees, go on LuAnn ✊❤️
Any thing what kills is biocides imo when got 100% kill rate takes x3-5 years for organic matter to take hold again. Imo Great work as usual mate
What jets you got in your brush
You're 100% correct and totally agree with you mate, hypo is a biocide as well, I should have been clearer when talking in the vid, when I said biocide, I meant BAC50 or DDAC, but didn't make that very clear. Thanks for the great comment Sean 👍
Great job 👍🇩🇰☕️😁
Thank you! 😃
I don't mean this in a rude way at all, but, is there a functional reason to clean a roof, or is it cosmetic only? I understand floors, they can get slippery and unsafe. But I assume walls and roofs are just for the look of it?
Again, don't mean it in any sort of an unkind way, just curious is all!
what do you do about hypo getting on lead?
Keep the lead wet, or if it oxidises, use mild brick acid to change it back to grey
@@PrestigeExternalCleaningdo you use a electric backpack to pump the hypo or something else?
@@matt07080 I have a Roltek pump and use Gardiner backpacks. Will use the Roltek on bigger jobs, but for smaller ones like this, I find it more convenient to use the Gardiner
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning thanks a lot
Nick your arms must feel like dead weight when your done cleaning a roof and it always marvels me. Roof looks fantastic.
Hey Alina, it's definitely hard work, but i'm used to it now, thanks for the lovely feedback 💓
