    That was some pretty crazy mud. I really need to explore my home state more.

    Hey JOM, the reason you enjoyed that ride so much was the 2 pints at the start. Way to go

    Good job on the pronouncing Eufaula, also as an Alabama native I can fully confirm the PIA caused by that peanut butter mud!

      Good stuff, thanks Matt. Holy eff, that was a total mudfest on that one road.

      @@GravelCyclist Been there before! I've had so much peanut butter on my bike that I was slinging sandwich sized chunks off my wheels!

    Great video! I can't believe you were able to pedal through some of that clay/mud. It looked quite deep and sticky.

      Towards the end of the muddy segment, I was one legged pedaling, dipping one foot into the sludge. A wee bit of a mess, but it was a perfect test for the review bike at the time!

    Thanks Jom, great video. I was impressed, surprised, that you chose the clay on the way home.

      Thanks for the positive comments Monty! I figured, I'm already dirty, and the entire ride was a really good test for the review bike at the time.

    Beautiful!! That looks like so much fun. What is the best gravel bike under $5000 Australian dollars? I want to compete in gravel races and also go bike packing. Thank you! 😍

    Great video JOM. Brings back my own memories of trail running in GA & AL peanut butter. Sucks your shoes right off! My question - any particular mapping tools you prefer for your route "guidance', recognizing they all can mislead at some point?/

    • @GravelCyclist
      @GravelCyclist  4 роки тому +1

      RidewithGPS.com is my mapping tool of choice. Riding, exploring, getting lost and hoping for the best is my style all the way :)

      I have a lot more in the hopper. With no events going on, I finally have time to edit some of the older stuff. I definitely trespassed, not by design, so for that reason, I cannot share the route. Sorry!

    Hi JOM, I've been considering the DT Swiss GRC 1400 Spline 42's and was curious what your take is on them compared to the G23? Will you be doing a wheel review of them on their own?

    • @GravelCyclist
      @GravelCyclist  4 роки тому

      Hey Dan, a variant of those wheels (cannot remember the model) was on the Cervelo in the video, but they weren't light. The bike was returned long ago, so no review I'm afraid. However, between the wheel you mentioned, I'd choose the G23's, provided you are OK with internal nipples. That said, I have two sets of them... one from ENVE and one from Berd Spokes. Both are bang on true... the ENVE built set has seen two Dirty Kanza 200's, and I abused the eff out it in Australia earlier this year.

    • @AmsterDanTheAmerican
      @AmsterDanTheAmerican 4 роки тому

      @@GravelCyclist yeah, I think they call them the 1650's - they are the same wheel rebranded for Cervelo I think. I was looking at the BERD website and spoke to Charlie - Very helpful and friendly. I'd swoop up a pair of the G23 with i9 hubs and the Berd spokes but I live in Amsterdam and the import taxes will kill me. How have the Berd spokes held up? Any reservations? Do you know how big the Panaracer 35's or 38's measure when on the G23's? Thanks a million and keep up the great content!

    • @GravelCyclist
      @GravelCyclist  4 роки тому +1

      @@AmsterDanTheAmerican GK SK 38's measure about 40.5 to 41mm on the ENVE rim. Berd spokes have been awesome, very happy with them!
