Wow, now that is a loft! And the railing around it looks fantastic! I noticed the Swamp Angel, Iron Mistress and another CAT have found their way to the Red Shed...
Excellent work. You and your Dad are cabinet makers masquerading as frame carpenters. I like the idea of fitting plywood between the metal siding and the storage area. Again, first class planning and work. Thank you.
Very functional and aesthetically pleasing all at once! Nice work! Please take us along as you load, unload and position equipment in the barn. I'm sure you run the track vehicles on something to protect the floor
Thanks for showing us your work methods. I suppose some will say it's all simple stuff but I'll bet it's not. Skill makes it all look simple. Beautiful work.
Congrats to you and Senior for finishing up that beautiful red building ... now I'm looking forward to you filling it up with CATS and some RED POWER. 👍👍
Congratulations on finishing the shop it looks great! When we put the loft in ours, it added a lot of strength to the building. I'm shocked you guys haven't got frost yet either. 👍
Another outstanding job. Everything you and Sir do is top notch and professional. Attention to detail is y’all’s middle name. Absolutely love your channel. No BS just good content.
Squatch & Son Construction and Repair. We add quality and durability to everything we do. When you want it built right the first time or when you want your tractor repaired better than new, call Squatch & Son Construction and Repair. Let's face it. We're just that good.
One of the last projects my father and I worked on together was a set of stairs for my workshop. He was diagnosed with cancer shortly after and passed 14 months later. I miss those type of things we did ....
We did our stairs with a landing exactly the same when we put a upstairs in our barn. Our barn is full of hit miss engines and larger ones on the ground floor.
Looks fantastic!!! I personally would add 2-3 vertical supports on the right side of the staircase going from the stringer to the railing. Maybe even down to the floor if you plan on keeping under the stairs dead space. Maybe finish off the wall on the left hand side of the stairs just for aesthetic purposes? But otherwise you two did a great job! Very professionally done.
Squatch253, once you get all of your equipment moved to the barn, please do another video describing each machine and your future plans for each. Thank you.
Hmm. Your upstairs build is stronger than some medieval castles would have. Given the single forklift bay,and storage footprint at a premium,I would suggest to you something my late friend and mentor Thomas would have remarked on. Put everything up there on shipping pallets and put casters on every pallet . That instant mobility gives a flexibility that has to be savored. Or maybe you already thought of that. The amount of grief that saves is memorable. Batches of big swiveling casters are not cheap. And worth every penny when ,literally, push comes to shove. Screwing plywood walls onto a white oak shipping pallet turns it into cubic storage.
Thank you , swamp angel looks so proud and out of the winter weather. She is such a beautiful girl and has come a long way. If you would have left her she would have turned into a Toyota Hood. From one of your proud members
It will be very interesting to see where the condensation drips run :-). There is a timber yard where I work that has a tin roof, and (crucially), RSJs for roof support. Over night the roof freezes, then out comes the sun and melts the frost, and down comes the condensation. You can follow the Joist runs by the witness marks on the floor! (And on the stock !). Might be a good idea to see where the drips are before parking valuable machines under them. Tins on exhausts might still be a good idea. Having wooden joists should help, but condensation is a Bitch. And I DO have Shed Envy . . . . Yours is bigger than my house !
We’ve never had a pole barn sweat inside like I’ve heard others talk about - I don’t know if we’re just lucky here or it’s something about how we set them up breathability-wise but I’ve never had that happen. 👍
Your trees are looking like mine. Already had a couple of morning frosts. Possible snow is in the forecast for this weekend. Old man winter is on the way. Thanks for the video.
That turned out amazing, I see a one day project of adding electric and spray foam insulation or another working shop on the property, after the house is built. The possibilities are endless with a Red Shed Production...lol...great job
Also to save room, you should step from your last tread up to your landing/mezzanine. Also you should run a 2”x4” flush with the bottom of the stringer from top to bottom, gives a great amount of added strength. Just a thought!
Y'all did a bang up job on both projects. Can't wait for moving day. Did you use metric lag bolts? It looked like a number on the head. If it were me I'd add plywood to cover the steel siding because I'd surly bump something into it.
First off, Nice barn. One thing the guy that built my 40x64 pole barn did that I thought was a nice feature was he nailed scrap 2x stock in behind the poles to stop the rodents from using the horizonal boards as racetracks, if you had drops say from your spindles it might be something to think about.
Man, ladybugs had a go this year. There's like 14 of them in this video alone. Over here in Europe, i lost a week doing other things and had an overfill on the gutters. Cleaning them up, i swear i must've picked up like... at least 50 of them. Must be because of the pandemic gap, these last two years i've seen bugs i hadn't seen since i was a kid. Three four years ago, i would've said i hadn't seen a praying mantis in a decade+, now, i saw like 4 or 5 of them and the whitened skin left behind by one growing up (that one's a first for me).
Thanks for the update the loft looks really nice and it creates the ideal storage area for the D2s underneath it. Are you going to pack the lean to full also
Try enjoy your time with your Father. He's such a treat to watch. I miss mine everyday !!
Great comment I do miss those days working with my Father, Lots of Love
Dads are the best.
Specific to the loft: 1) it looks bulletproof. 2) It is definitely a piece of Engineering Art! Thanks for taking us along.
Do not forget the stone crusher, Toby! That thing has got a ton of work waiting for it, after you restored it of course.
Quality isn’t expensive it’s priceless, what a fantastic Red Shed, nice job. Filler up
Timing is everything and you did it well with senior working in the background.
The greatest reward for your work is the satisfaction of seeing a job well done. You and Senior must be feeling well satisfied now.
What a treat to be able to work with your pop…
The storage loft looks really good! Now you need an antique caterpillar powered generator to run some lights!
Would like to see a video of what it takes to move a tracked machine into its parking spot in the storage barn.
Wow, now that is a loft! And the railing around it looks fantastic! I noticed the Swamp Angel, Iron Mistress and another CAT have found their way to the Red Shed...
Thanks and yes - the Big Move is now officially under way 👍😎
Winter is coming, the great migration has begun.
Excellent work. You and your Dad are cabinet makers masquerading as frame carpenters. I like the idea of fitting plywood between the metal siding and the storage area. Again, first class planning and work. Thank you.
You and your Dad should be proud of the work you have done!
Very functional and aesthetically pleasing all at once! Nice work!
Please take us along as you load, unload and position equipment in the barn. I'm sure you run the track vehicles on something to protect the floor
Nicest job on a mezzanine I've ever seen. You too make some team!
That looks good and I’m sure it’s gonna last forever the way you guys do things it’s just incredible love watching you
You two do fantastic work.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone
Greg in Michigan
Great job! Fun to watch - start to finish!
Beautiful ! I would use that as my living quarters !!!
Great project. Not a guy watching that doesn't wish he had that storage building. Nice job.
Thanks for showing us your work methods. I suppose some will say it's all simple stuff but I'll bet it's not. Skill makes it all look simple. Beautiful work.
Congratulations on a job well done. May it be a safe haven for the historical stuff you so proudly present and preserv.👌
Compliments for a fine looking quality building.
Functional, Beautiful and a work of art!! Very well done!!
The Squatch museum looks great 👍🏻🤩😀🤓
You have a very well thought out building and the two of you do excellent work.
Outstandind work! You and senior are multi talented. Reminds me of my Grandfather and dad. Fun and educational to watch.
Congrats to you and Senior for finishing up that beautiful red building ... now I'm looking forward to you filling it up with CATS and some RED POWER. 👍👍
I’m excited to see all the machines in there!
You and your Dad do so much good work together it makes me want to go and build something. Keep up the good work.
Given your attention to detail on this loft, I was surprised that you didn't put in riser boards on the faces of the steps. :o)
Congratulations on finishing the shop it looks great! When we put the loft in ours, it added a lot of strength to the building. I'm shocked you guys haven't got frost yet either. 👍
SO INFORMATIVE!!! NICE WORK WITH THE JIG SAW ON THE STRINGERS!!
Outstanding work, like everything you guys do
Thank you 🙏🏻
The shed looks nice
You guys did a great job on making the loft for storage. When you finished the video, I couldn't believe it had been over 24 minutes since it started.
Jack of all trades.
Great job guys. Since your putting all your big boy toys in there, you could call it "Toby's Toy Box". LOL 😆 😂
Excellent craftsmanship!
Very nice, it looks great! Love seeing the cats in their new home!
❤❤❤❤❤great work looking awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You and senior went above and beyond but I kind of expected that's how you boys roll, no half steppin here it looks great.
Very impressive work, looks great. I am jealous that you and Senior have good knees to go up and down the ladder that many times too.
Killer job on your mezzanine!! Good to see you guys not take any short cuts on your projects and go the extra mile to do them right. VERY nice job.
Great work! Looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Looking nice!
You should do name signs for all the bays with the tractors. That would be a nice touch.
Another outstanding job. Everything you and Sir do is top notch and professional. Attention to detail is y’all’s middle name. Absolutely love your channel. No BS just good content.

Fantastic Job , so pumped to see it filled up !
That looks great!
Planning the work and working the plan. You and Sr. have done an amazing job.
Looks awesome Squatch!!!
Everyone else’s work looked good…Yours looks great 👍🏻🤩

Congratulations to you and Senior. You are working fools. Wish I was productive as you guys are.👍😎
Beautiful work!
Superb piece of carpentry, very satisfying to watch it take shape, Good job, Guys!
Great job on the building and mezzanine!
You should look for a little vintage forklift for lifting stuff to the upper floor.
Hmm. Your upstairs build is stronger than some medieval castles would have. Given the single forklift bay,and storage footprint at a premium,I would suggest to you something my late friend and mentor Thomas would have remarked on. Screwing plywood walls onto a white oak shipping pallet turns it into cubic storage.
It would be pretty cool to see all the D2's in a line in there.
That is one fine looking piece of work Toby, you guys should be proud of it. I've seen houses built with a lot less and not looking nearly as good
That's just too nice. Wow.
Great video!! Shed is taking shape. Thank you for sharing!!
Enjoyable video, you guys do great work, making it look easy and professional. Well done
Very cool space! Well done!
Nice job!
The loft looks great! Gives me ideas for mine.
Once it is built it must be filled. Looking forward to seeing all the machines under one roof.
Nice job looks great 👍

Looks awesome!
Quality work!
Must've been one hellava lumber bill!
I got sticker shock 😲 just from watching it
Well done fella's.
Well done both of you long time coming
Nice work well done

The tin garages often have an inner roof to avoid condensation. Maybe some kind of goretex fabric could be suspended from the roof?

Perfection both of you

Like a tee?
@@erik_dk842 No,nailed or screwed on the inside of the stringer
Flush with bottom of the stringer.
looks great
You guys do very nice work!
Very impressive
very nice
Very nice red shed I’m very jealous I once had a nice shop all insulated with a mezzanine until I sold my farm I sure do miss it
Took extra tome to build it but when you have grandchildren playing up
in grandpa’s loft it will be still holding up well 👍🏻🤩🥰
Nice compound miter.

What a great building. Do you plan to insulate it? Metal buildings can sweat but maybe not if there is no heat...
A urethane finish would make the floor look great.
Quality work in everything ya'll do! Probably been asked and answered, what is the age of Senior, he sure gets around good!
Early 70's IIRC
When I had to make long stairs I went to HD and bought the longest premade stringer, used it for a pattern and returned it.
