Rogers dropped on nought after a genuine edge and England looked to be paying the price as he went on to hit two outrageous maximums.
There is definitely something in the pitch for the bowlers though, with plenty of balls going just past the edge. Stokes makes the breakthrough as Rogers looks for yet another big shot, this time picking out Adam Lyth at Long off.
Mark Wood then bowls David Warner, the ball straightening slightly and just clipping the top of off stump.
Smith survives a couple of LBW appeals but can only look on as Broad takes an outstanding catch low to his left off his own bowling.
Voges is the next man in and gets off the mark with a lovely straight drive for two, then gets a bit of luck as an edge skids down to the third man boundary.
Clarke, who looked to be struggling early on then finds his rhythm and a decent partnership sees Australia through to lunch on 72-3.

Trust me on this, get your medium pacers, bowl full, off cutter with occasional swing and variety, you destroy any line up. I use defensive 7, it seems to me that the ball that goes in are always more likely to get you wickets than the balls going 'out'.
there is a mod on planet cricket called "fearsome tweak", it creates more chances to get a wicket (edges, lbw etc.)
can there be a mod where short pitch bowling is actually effective and fast bowlers are useful. My top wicket takers are all medium pacers. For instance, best bowler for aus is Mitchell Marsh where the hazelhood, cummins and starc are getting belted. When i played the great west indian team, my top bowler is the spinners. Ambrose, Walsh, Garner, Holding all going for runs.
great video..have you tried playing without the ball markers on..it's hard but obviously very realistic

surley bowl around the wicket to left handers?
Cheers Drew. I prefer playing across the left handers, trying to draw them into shots when they are unsure of swing or seam movement.

It's on Pro difficulty, but I have reduced the skills of every player to try and make it more realistic. With the default attributes you never ever get edges, they either middle it or miss it, it's rubbish.
And we all know that them Aussies can't hit swing. Crik-ket, as Sir Boycott would say
