Hi Carol, I learned a trick for cutting slippery fabrics. Try cutting out on top of a piece of cotton even if it's a bed sheet if that's all you have. Maybe this will help. Looking forward to seeing your blouses. There is a blouse challenge going on this month.
Wow you are going deep with the Patina! I just love the Moroccan Lady McElroy fabric, it is gorgous. Your toile already looks good so by the time you have made the others you will be ready to give us all lessons!! 😂
Loved this! I can’t wait to see all your Patinas and hear how the fabrics compare. I have the Aria shirt on my list for this spring/summer. I made a Cedar Dolman from Cashmerette yesterday. I added a bit of a heavier interfacing on the ties and now I’m not sure it was the right decision. Have a great week. Love your glasses, by the way!
Carol, when working with the sheer silk fabric, you may want to use a very fine machine needle size 6. I used to own a fabric store and I helped several people who were tearing their hair out sewing on sheer silk fabric and the size 6 needle helped them with the puckering. Be sure to use a new needle.😊
Carol, your Bettina blouse is lovely. Regarding FBA, have you considered just cutting just one front piece of some cheap material, mark the seam allowances and sew the dart(s). I find that my requirements differ from garment to garment and this little trick gives a good idea of what the fit is like 'straight out of the envelope' - it just costs a little of your time, but leaves your beautiful fabrics for another day. I love your blouse plans, all from one pattern.🌷
I just cut out my toile for the Patina yesterday - I was very excited to see you had completed yours and it looks lovely. Gives me high hopes for mine. Looking forward to your other versions, too. Thanks, and I hope you have a great week!
Hi Lorraine! How did your toile for your Patina work out? Don't you just love the collar on that pattern? I still have my 2 long sleeve Patinas to make. I hope to get around to it this weekend. What type of fabric are you using for your final version?
Thank you so much for this video! You’ve inspired me to give the Patina a try with a nice tencel fabric I have in my stash. I’m going to do a muslin first though because I’m still unsure about an FBA and where the darts would hit on me. Keep making these videos - they are so usual to me! LOL 💞
Hey Izzy! I hope you're doing well. I've been watching your videos but haven't commented much 😒 I'm just in a little bit of a stressful time. But I love your shorts and your idea to post everyday! Super impressive.
I love your linen outfit. I can't get over how we choose the exact same patterns! FYI I am making the Harmony blouse by LN and doing a few modifications. I am using double gauze. Are you making that soon??lol I would to suggest you get better studio lighting. Your videos are a bit dark.
You have the most beautiful fabric. I like your idea of trying one pattern out of many different fabrics.

You might already know this, if so Ignore me, when you do a FBA it will lower the dart.
