What kind of leather u used that; Crazy horse, nubuck, Pull up or what? How thickness?
Brillian🤝
Seu trabalho ficou excelente amigo gostei muito parabéns
Excellent video Carson.
I am fine with people wanting to horse around like this. But is there any produced good honey leather MTB saddles, that I do not need to mess with before I can sit on the, and non brooks...just MTB saddles, with good light not too thick honey leather...are no where to be found...regretfully. While so many people love the leather looks. Also on modern bikes.
What do you think, textured or smooth finish leather which will be better for a saddle?
maravilloso trabajo👏👏👌
Anyone know ow the best thickness of leather to buy for this?
Great work ugly saddle
кожа имеет направление волокон. в одну сторону тянется лучше чем в другую. на видео вы разрезали кусок кожи против направления волокон.надо было сер5дину делать вдоль позвоночника животного. спасибо за полезное видео.
Beautiful
How thick is the twine?
Great instructional video! Thanks! I'm going to recover my Specialized seat and I'll be able to use your video as a direct reference to get this done correctly.
Excellent video thank you
💚 I'll try on my saddle! Did you have more videos in your channel? Show more content!
Great video thank you!!
Thank You for your clip, i Hope next time you make a clip with saddle has a hole in center of saddle
Perfect 🙌
What if you don't have a template??
You can make one by wrapping your saddle in blue painters tape then remove it and place it on paper or cardboard for a template.
What material do You use for leather finishing?
I made leather handle bar wraps. I used a baseball stitch to connect the two sides. I have some leather leftover and was thinking of doing my bike's saddle.

Can you send me info on the glue. Font need the kit
beautiful thank you
Thanks
Thanks. Great video. About to embark on my debut re-covering journey. A few questions for you. 1. How long to wait before the 3M spray adhesive is tacky enough to hold, but not too tacky as unable to reset? 2. When is the 3M glue dry enough to move on to using the white glue? 3. How long to wait between application and with your white glue? 4. Should we not add white glue to the nose until the white glue on the sides and back is dry? 5. When is the white glue dry enough to move on to working the nose? 6. Is there a leather conditioner you recommend? Will pants/shorts/tights/etc rub off said conditioner? If so, will it stain/damage the clothing? Thanks again.
Excellent video. Any tips for building up the foam. I’ve got a big gap where a chunk is missing. Was thinking some expanding foam and cutting to shape.
I have an older Haro BMX saddle that has very thick padding but is worn out and uncomfortable, I think I'm going to add gel to the saddle padding then cover it with leather to turn it into something premium.
thanks for the tutorials. if i could press 1000x likes button 👍

how much is your kits cost?
Very useful video. One question: does the recommended glue allow for the leather cover to be peeled, in case of errors or future damage?
Awesome video, thanks so much!
What type of leather and what thickness?
Are you using the 3M 30NF or 1000NF? I’ve been using Petronio’s which is strong af but also toxic af. Trying to break the old shoe guy habits 🤦
Wow I had no idea that people did this. I did it to the saddle on my fixed gear but that’s awesome that more people do it!
Beautiful!
hi Carson... can you share the leather conditioner you are using... currently i have a project but hesitant to start for i dont have the right material.
Nice.
Sure did turn out nice!
45 minutes. Maybe an hour.
Most leather stretch more in one direction than the other. Which way should the stretching direction of the leather point?
45 degree angle
Hey, what glue is the white one for the edges? Thank you!
I have the same question. Anyone out there have the answer?
Elmers white glue
I'm pretty sure it's the water-based eco-friendly version of contact cement. It has has milky white color to it. The water would soak into the leather and help it stretch, unlike the solvent based version.
Hello very nice video! I would like to ask if you'd suggest using fake leather instead of genuine...! Thank you!
Thanks for your comment. However we are a leather company not a plastic company. I will never use plastic replacement for a material that has been with humankind for 1000's of years.
Very nice video :) When you say final conditioning, what does this mean exactly?
Adding leather conditioner!
saddle should be made at least with 5mm depth this is too thin
Sorry, this is not correct. You will not be able to wrap any bicycle seat with 5mm thick leather.
Normal roadbike saddle cover is 1mm in average because there is foam underneath. So 1.5mm thickness works fine too. 5mm is definitely an overkill.
5mm leather would be for a Brooks-type saddle where the leather is structural, not just an outer layer.
Great work. How thick is the leather?
1.0 - 1.5 mm
Carson Leh answered this further down: Thickness should be 1.5-2.5mm thickness. Commonly called 2-3 Ounce leather. I personally used 1.5 mm thick for my seat.
Carson well done mate. kind of makes it look easy when it is a pretty specific skill set. i did not complete covering a saddle in marine grade vinyl b/c i just could not stretch it well enough and see from this vid the pliers would have helped with that. what's the charge to have you recover a saddle i send you? really dig the bison honey leather for a saddle and matching bars.
Sorry we don't recover seats in house any more!
@@lehseats6509 Thanks so much for sharing your skill! I'm curious how to recover saddles with relief cut-outs. Is it very difficult?
Thickness of leather anyone?

Best video I have seen on bar tape.
