I sang this song for a pop ensemble concert at community college in april. I'm a big Varney fan and while I'm not a great singer, the band and the audience loved it. I'm just glad I was able to sing it, thanks to this video
It's so sad that Varney is gone. Ernest Goes to Camp was one of my favorite movies as a kid. His energy was amazing, and looking back at his acting makes it even more obvious to me how incredibly talented he was and good at creating such likeable characters (watch moments where Ernest plays other characters in those movies, like the old woman with a neck brace). He made very specific choices in his performances that made it easy to connect with him.
