How To Etch Wine Glasses

The O'Neil Sisters
Running With Sisters
Etch wine glasses with your own custom design. These make a great gift! We'll show you every step with this glass etching video tutorial.
Have you ever used etch cream to etch wine glasses? It's easy! In our step-by-step video tutorial we'll show you just how easy it is to etch a set of wine glasses with your own personalized and custom design.
Even if you've never etched wine glasses before, you can do this DIY gift project. We'll show you exactly how to use the chemical etch cream Armor Etch to etch wine glasses.
How To Etch Wine Glasses
Materials
4 wine glasses
Armour Etch Cream
Scroll and swirl stickers
Rubbing alcohol
*We got the stickers at Hobby Lobby!
Tools
Soft bristle craft paintbrush
Scissors
Gloves
Masking tape
Cotton swabs
Timer
Instructions
1. Mask off the area you want to etch.
2. Make a custom design using stickers on the bowl of the wine glass.
3. Clean the wine glass between the stickers using a rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to remove any fingerprints.
4. Paint a thick layer of etch cream on the wine glass covering the stickers. Set the timer for one minute. Then rinse the wine glass under running water.
*The glasses are perfectly safe once you rinse the etch cream off and wash them. The etch cream is no longer on the glasses. It just does its job etching (like sand blasting) then is washed away. The glasses are permanently etched but no chemicals are left.*
5. Peel off the stickers and masking tape. Rinse the wine glass again.
Custom etching wine glasses is a fun way to personalize cocktail glasses or wine glasses with initials. names, or phrases. Just use letter stickers to create your design. Are you feeling nervous about etching? Ask us any questions. We're here to help!
Happy Crafting,
Jennifer & Kitty

+Jennifer Herman Thanks Jennifer! Glad you found us!
awesome ladies love your videos thank you so much for doing these please do some for Valentines day
Thanks Josephine! We'll think on it!
Great video - I have some glasses I want to etch / dot on. I will be using stencils made with my Cricut and Oracal 651 tho - that has gotten some amazing results so far.
That should work great for stencils!
J&K
Beautiful project
Thanks Tessia!
J&K
that is so easy and you are really talented
Aw thanks!!
WOW what a easy craft craft that you can do that looks high end and makes such a Unique gift. I am excited to do this. I wish you told us where to get the etching stuff and how to clean the paint brushes and such. But, honestly, you girls killed this...Excellent video. WOW. I may subing to you now and excited to go see what else you have done
Thank you so much for the kind words! You can get the etch cream at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Or online from Amazon. It looks like this: amzn.to/3pc4SCL
We usually just wash the brushes with soap and water in the garage sink. We have the complete written how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
Cheers,
Jennifer & Kitty
So nice
Thanks so much!
J&K
Thank You for teaching us in such a clear and simple way how to do etching. I am subscribing to your channel.
Thanks Eva!
J&K
Omg!! I love this video!😍 I love gifting people so I cant wait to make these🙌. You ladies did an amazing job! Oh, one question? What kind of stickers are those & where can I find them?
Thanks! We got the stickers at Hobby Lobby. In the scrapbooking section. Hope that helps! J&K
Love this, thank you for sharing. Can I etch a ceramic color mug? Like those solid ones sold at The Dollar store?
We have never tried etching ceramic. The makers of the etch cream are the nicest folks. Why not call them and ask? Armour Etch www.armourproducts.com/cms-display/customerservice.html
Let us know if it works!! J&K
Thank you for your reply.the problem with my etching doesn't show the frosting done well.
So sorry you are not getting good results! A few of our troubleshooting tips are: make sure the glass is completely clean and free of grease from fingers, use a lot of etch cream, and leave the etch cream on for the amount of time specified on your etch cream bottle. We have written instructions for this project on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/ Hope that helps! J&K
Thank you for sharing the tutorial! Can't wait to try it. I do have one question, do you know if the etching comprises the integrity of the glass? I was wondering before I buy a glass cup.
Great question Annette! The etching is just on the surface and won't compromise the glass at all.
J&K
Superrr 👌👌👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much!
J&K
Thank youuuu 🤗🙏🏾
You are so welcome!
J&K
I love using this etch cream. Very pretty wine glasses. My question is I had some etch cream drip where I didn't want it and now I have an etch spot on my glass that is not suppose to be there. How can I get that etch spot off?
Hi Tammy,
Sorry you got an unwanted spot from the etch cream. The etch cream really etches the glass. Like sand blasting. The cream itself can be washed away, but the glass is permanently etched. Maybe you can turn it into part of the design.
J&K
I just tried my first etched glass today. Question of have you used speed ball oil based paint to add color? I’m looking to try just wanting pros and cons and any tips if you’ve used before.
We haven't tried adding color to the etched part. But here's a bit of info on the topic www.etchtalk.com/Item/tip-adding-color-to-your-glass-etching
Hope that helps!
J&K
Thanks lady
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
You're welcome Dennis!
Can I use a paintbrush that is used for acrylic paint for etch cream? Would I be able to wash it off afterwards?
That should be fine. Hope that helps! J&K
love the tutorial...i have a question (hope its not a dumb question) can u drink from wine glass after its etched? or is this particular glass for decoration
+Mona G Great question! Yes you can drink from them! Isn't that fun?!
Very beautiful and very simple. Nice demo! Can you drink safely out of the glasses once they have been etched? Can you drink wine out of them or will it stain the etching?
Thanks Carol. The last step in etching the glasses is to wash them thoroughly. The etch cream chemically etches the glass to make it frosted, but once it is rinsed away the glasses are safe. Wine will not stain the glass.
Cheers to that!
Jennifer & Kitty
Hie l'm in South Africa, have been looking for the Armour Etch, modpodge and staff but l can't find it,plz help, thanks
Hmmm....maybe ask Plaid, the makers of Mod Podge, (plaidonline.com/products) and Armor Etch, the makers of the etch cream (www.armourproducts.com/ecom-catshow/Armour_Etch.html), where they sell. Both companies are very friendly and helpful! Or look for them on eBay.
Hope that helps!
J&K
I have seen many videos using the circuit stencils could you not use a regular stencil ? I have some with the sticky back or I could tape it on
We haven't tried with cricut stencils. We like the stickers because they adhere to the glass and protect the areas from the etch cream.
J&K
As opposed to stickers, would it be possible to use hot glue to create freehanded designs? Or would the etching cream react with the hot glue?
Hmmm...we're not sure. Fun idea! We'll ask the manufactures and get back to you if we find out! (We'll ask about rubber cement too.)
J&K
Hi,
Is this glass etch non-toxic? I would like to etch the glass around my glass birdbath to create more traction since the birds are slipping and falling in too easily. Thanks
Great question! Once you peel the stickers off, rinse off the etch cream, and wash the area with soap and water, it is safe. The chemical process ends once the glasses are completely washed. No etch cream will be left on the glass and the birds will be fine!
J&K
Great Video! Always wanted to try this! Love Crafts. Question...when applying the stickers can I use disposable gloves? Would I then have to clean the glass with rubbing alcohol? No finger prints?
Also...it's a "chemical" ... applying all the way to the "top rim" of the glass????
Great questions Carole! Using gloves might help, but there may still be finger prints on the glass. So you shouldn't skip the rubbing alcohol step. Also, the glasses are perfectly safe to drink from after you rinse the etch cream off and wash them. The etch cream does not stay on the glasses. It just does its job etching the glass (like sand blasting). The etch cream is then washed away, leaving the glass etched but no chemicals left.
Here's the complete written how-to with photos. runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
Cheers,
Jennifer & Kitty
Can you use etching cream over top of a crackle finish? Or any other type of finish? Or will it not show?
Great question! Etching cream is a chemical etching process where the cream eats through the top layer of glass. It isn't like spraying a frosty finish, it is like sand blasting the glass but using chemicals instead of sand. If there is already a finish on the surface of the glass, the etch cream will eat through that too. If the glass itself is crackled inside, it may work. We've never tried it. Let us know if you do. We'd love to hear your results! J&K
very good instructions and thank you did you get the materials at Michel's craft
We got the materials at Hobby Lobby, but Michael's should have similar stuff.
J&K
Is the wine glasses safe to drink out of after you etch them? I’m thinking about making one for my girls that are going to be in my wedding for gifts.
Yes Boutsala, the wine glasses are just clean glass after you wash off the etch cream. Totally safe to drink from. They make lovely wedding gifts!
J&K
Do you have to seal the glasses with anything after and is it ok to drink from them or are these simply to have the glass as a decoration piece?
Great question! The glasses are perfectly safe to drink from after you rinse the etch cream off and wash them. The etch cream does not stay on the glasses. It etches the glass (similar result as sand blasting) then is washed away leaving the glass etched but no chemicals left.
Cheers, J&K
Your glasses are very pretty. I watched a few other people and they leave their cream for about 10 to 15 minutes, i did some for 15 and i think the y look smeary..do you think it is because of how long the cream was on?
We recommend following the directions on the package. If you leave it on longer than necessary it could have time to seep under the stickers and blur your edges and look smeary. Hope that helps!
J&K
Ok now the part that didn’t get etching can we color that part and what kind of paint can I use to do that part of it can be done?
Hi Sonia,
We haven't tried coloring the glass after etching, but we found a good DIY page that uses Rub-n-Buff to fill the etched area with color. Looks fun! www.craft-e-corner.com/blog/2015/05/how-to-color-etched-glass-using-rub-n-buff-patina.html Cheers, J&K
Do you think using that etch cream on a 13 inch by 41 in sheet of glass would work?
Hi Kelly, We've done a large etched glass window. It turned out great! But keep in mind this cream will leave brush marks. You can see the how-to here: runningwithsisters.com/the-butterfly-effect/
Hope that helps,
Jennifer & Kitty
very pretty - can I use cricut vinyl and cut my design and put on there? Such as the word Mr. or Mrs. and not fill in the whole glass? thanks
Definitely! Google "use your Cricut to create stencils for glass etching" and there are lots of tutorials and how-tos!
Can I use any sticker???to decorate. Is it safe for dishwasher
Great question Dennis. You can use most stickers. Paper ones won't work, but if the sticker is waterproof it should be fine. Yes the glasses are dishwasher safe.
J&K
When you wash the etch cream off do you use just water? Or are you using dish soap as well? Is warm or cold water preferred?
We use a little dish soap and warm water,. Here's the how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
Cheers,
Jennifer & Kitty
Is it safe to drink from the glass with the etching cream being at the rim?
Yes! The glasses are perfectly safe once you rinse the etch cream off and wash them. The etch cream is no longer on the glasses. It just does its job etching (like sand blasting) then is washed away. The glasses are permanently etched but no chemicals are left. Cheers to that! J&K
Is it possible to dye/add color to the etching cream? Or would you have to buy colored ones? Love your videos ladies ❤
The etch cream we are using chemically etches the glass. It's like a chemical version of sand blasting and takes off the outside layer of glass making the surface less shiny and therefor frosted. You wash the etch cream off. So there's no way to add color. It would wash off. You could try etching colored glass. Hope that helps! J&K
do you add a sealant after you are finished or is the sealant not needed?
Great question Sandra! No sealant is needed. When they are etched and cleaned, they are finished!
J&K
Do you know if this can be done on acrylic wine glasses?
According to the manufacturer's web site, the etch cream will not etch plastics. Here's a link: www.armourproducts.com/ecom-catshow/Armour_Etch.html
J&K
Thanks for videos. bt which chemicals name to the frosted??
The etch cream is called Armour Etch. You can see the product and buy it here.
www.etchworld.com/Item/15-0150
Hope that helps!
J&K
How would you color the etching cream? Like if you wanted a Smokey colored glass? I wonder if you could use alcohol ink. Just an idea
Hi Pam, The etch cream we are using chemically etches the glass. It's like a chemical version of sand blasting. It takes off the outside layer of glass making the surface less shiny. It ends up frosted. You wash the etch cream off. So there's no way to add color. It would wash off. You could try etching colored glass. Hope that helps! J&K
What do you call that k8nd of design of stencil you used in English? I want to find similar design in google image
The stickers are swirls and flourish. Here's an example: www.hobbylobby.com/search/?text=gold+glitter+flourish+stickers&quickview=80784797
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
thank you so much for the tutorial but I've turned myself into a failure😥, my etching has not come out clear, can you pls help
Oh no! Can you describe what the problem is? We'd love to help! J&K
can these etched wine glasses be washed like regular glasses after being used?
Yes! Isn't that awesome?!
J&K
Where can I find design ideas for etching. I have the liquid but no ideas for designs.
Great question! You can find self-adhesive stencils meant for etching at craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby and online. Or you can use die-cut stickers like we did. Hope that helps, Jennifer & Kitty
Those are so pretty! They look festive. Anything frosted looks festive to me. lol!
Ok. I have a question and it MAY be a stupid one but I really want to know. I KNOW its for glass but can those Artic and Yeti type tumblers be etched?
Hi Michelle,
The etch cream is just for glass and doesn't work on Pyrex or plastics. Are the tumblers stainless steel? We've etched copper before using PCB Etch (used to make circuit boards). Here's the project on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/organic-chemistry/ Don't know if it works on anything other than copper.
J&K
The O'Neil Sisters ok. Thank u for getting back to me
Thank you for the video. I have question though... you said this etching paint is chemical. Is it safe to use this glasses (drink from it) after?
The glasses are perfectly safe after you rinse the etch cream off and wash them. The etch cream does not stay on the glasses. It just does its job etching (like sand blasting) then is washed away leaving the glass etched but no chemicals left. Cheers to that! J&K
@@TheONeilSisters is this dishwasher safe
I'm doing a wine glass that very round. I can't seem to get the stencil to lay down flat on the glass. I am trying just to etch the letters not the whole glass. Please help me.
So sorry you are having trouble! There are lots of good tips and tricks on this blog: www.etchtalk.com/Category/tips-tricks We'll look around and see if we can find some advice, J&K
Hi girls, this is my first time watching your channel and new subscriber. I enjoyed this video very much. I've always wanted to etch glass. Is it necessary to spray the finished product with a sealer or clear coat? Thank you so much.
Hi DeDeMarie, Great question! No need to seal or clear coat! The glass is actually etched.
J&K
Ok so you etch the wine glass then you sprayed it with the frost. And where can i get thr frost at.
Hi Stephanie,
We only etched the glasses. No spray paint or spray frost. The etch cream actually etches the glass and gives it the frosted look.
J&K
Those glasses are beautiful. Thank you for this tutorial. Where's the best place to find etch cream?
+Patricia DelMercado We buy it on Amazon or at Michaels. Hope that helps!
Hello. Is the etching cream safe for septic tanks? I'm asking because the glass needs to be washed off. Thank you.
Hmmm...we just don't know the answer. We recommend asking the manufacturer of the etch cream. They have always been very helpful! www.armourproducts.com/cms-display/customerservice.html
Julie, We found this on the Armour Etch site:
Q: Will Armour Etch or Etch Bath affect my septic system?
A: Accumulate the waste water in a plastic pail or tub. Baking soda can be added to your waste water to neutralize the water. ph strips you can purchase at a pool supply or drugstore. The ph strip will indicate when the water is neutralized. Once neutralized, the water can be flushed down the toilet and not affect your septic system.
After you are done, and take the stickers off, and wash it wish soap and water, are the chemicals still harmful? Drinking out of the wine glass wouldn’t be a problem correct? (Once the chemical process is done and it’s washed off, it’s no longer reacting?)
Great question, Jessica! Once you peel the stickers off, rinse off the etch cream, and wash the glasses with soap and water, the glasses are safe to drink out of. The chemical process ends once the glasses are completely washed. Hope yours turn out great!
Can I use any stencil when I'm etching?
Great question Phyllis. You can use an etching stencil instead of stickers. We recommend using ones made for etching as they have been tested to withstand the chemicals in the etch cream. Hope that helps! J&K
If you use spray will you still get the same results??
Hi Lanika,
Do you mean you want to mask the pattern with stickers like we did, but then use spray paint that looks like frosted glass? Yes that should work. The glasses won't be etched but will look etched. Follow the directions on the spray paint for washing and care instructions.
J&K
where do I get these stickers? can't see them in the UK??
We got them at Hobby Lobby in California and they sell some of them on their website. www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Stickers/Gold-Glitter-Flourish-Stickers/p/80666970
But you can use just about any stickers!
Here's a link to the complete instructions: www.kenarry.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
Jennifer & Kitty
Thank you so much.. Are they dishwasher safe?
Yes, dishwasher safe!
J&K
Do you have to seal it once finished? Will it wash off?
Great question April! The glass is really truly etched by the etch cream (like sand blasting) and it will not wash off. No sealer necessary!
J&K
Can I do the same to coffee mugs? And can I put them in the microwave after using the chemical?
Hi Patty, We've never tried the etch cream on coffee mugs, but others have had success, so why not try it? And yes you can safely microwave the mugs when you are done etching them. No chemical will remain.
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
Is it advisable for mirrors also?
Yes! We've done it on a mirror. Looked great! J&K
Will this work on plastic cups? Also, I have a square sticker which has an intricate image of a cat on it. Will the cat become etched, or will it work like your video?
We don't think it will work on plastic. It is made for glass. If the sticker is vinyl or plastic (not paper) it should work like ours in the video. Hope that helps!
J&K
hi I'm doing old school doors on barn sliders for bath room n masterbed room need privacy with little design HELP
It could be hard to etch something that is upright, but we have done windows. Here's a link: runningwithsisters.com/the-butterfly-effect/
Once you do the etching portion. If you wanted to add glitter or decorative pieces can you do so once it's been etched?
Sure!
Can you put epoxy on etching without damaging it
Yes. The etching is a permanent transformation of the glass like sand blasting. Epoxy won't change that. Hope that helps! J&K
How long do you keep the etch cream on for?
Great question Sammy. Our etch cream said to leave it on for one minute. But you should check the etch cream you are using in case it's different. Here's the step by step how to on our blog. runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/ Hope that helps!
J&K
Thank you so much for the interesting vedios,l would love to do this also just to get extra income,is it hard??
Thanks Dennis. It's really not hard! You just dab on the cream and wash it off. Just make sure the glass is clean before you start with no finger prints. Good luck!
J&K
How cute and how you keep cream on
Hi Tiffany, Just brush the cream on then rinse it off. Here's the how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
Cheers,
J&K
Thank you for the reply.Actually the problem is in the etching part, etching is not even, clear. Some part of etching is so well done whereas in some part bit of clear glass is seen
You can try a fluffier paint brush to eliminate some of the brushstrokes. It also helps to use a lot of etch cream. Don't just paint it on, dab on a thick layer. Hope that helps! J&K
So when tried etching i was little concerned about no mask .... i noticed in a few videos including this one noone uses face masks etc is it not dangerous staff unless touching skin ?
Great question! If you have respiratory problems or are concerned, definitely wear a mask. We use the etch cream in a well ventilated area and haven't had any issues. Hope that helps, Jennifer & Kitty
where did you get your stickers from I went to AC Moore and other craft stores and can't find any.
These stickers came from Hobby Lobby. Here's a link to one of the sets we used:
www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Stickers/Gold-Glitter-Flourish-Stickers/p/80666970
Hope that helps!
J&K
Thank you very much. Love watching your tutorials.
Thanks!
Can you etch over a glass that has already been etched before?
We have been looking for an answer for you, but we're just not sure what would happen. Perhaps you can contact Armour Etch who makes the etch cream. They are super helpful! www.armourproducts.com/
Can you paint the inside of the glass before you etch them ?
We are not sure about food-safe paints for glassware. But our friends at Kenarry Ideas For The Home did a great painting-on-wine-glasses tutorial. Here's a link: www.kenarry.com/hand-painted-wine-glasses-how-to-make/
Hope that helps!
J&K
Beautiful! Where do you get the dye cut stickers? And can you actually drink out of the glasses?
Thank you! We got our stickers at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbooking section. Yes, you can drink out of the glasses. The etch cream gets washed off and the glasses are just regular wine glasses, but with a pattern etched into the glass.
Hope that helps,
Jennifer & Kitty
@@TheONeilSisters ok. Thank you for your help AND such a thorough tutorial. I enjoyed it 😁
You are very welcome!
Can you mix any die or paint into the etching paste to give the etching area some color?
We get this question a lot! The etch cream chemically alters the glass so it has an etched texture. Then you wash the etch cream off. There is nothing left on the glass to add color. You can however start with colored glass and etch it, although we haven't tried that yet. Good luck!
The O'Neil Sisters Thank you very much. I thinking if you wanted to start with a colored glass but have a completely different color etch.
I used to do this as a glass blower but it required making the vessel yourself with one color inside and another color outside. Then once it was properly cooled you had to use a sand blaster to get through the thickness of the first layer of glass. I've never seen a commercial product made that way. But a shop with a lot of glass vases and things might have what you're looking for.
I have seen methods of coloring plates with sharpies and then baking them. If you found glass that could resist the heat of recommended baking time for sharpies, then you could color the glass, bake it, put the stickers on, THEN etch it. I haven't tested this but the etch cream SHOULD eat through the sharpie that isn't protected by stickers and leave the glass under the stickers colored. Only thing that might go wrong is if somehow baking the sharpie creates some kind of resist against the etch cream.
Can you stain the etched part by adding food coloring or something?
The etch cream we are using chemically etches the glass. It's like a chemical version of sand blasting. It takes off the outside layer of glass making the surface less shiny. It ends up frosted. You wash the etch cream off. So there's no way to add color. It would wash off. You could try etching colored glass. Hope that helps! J&K
Can you sublimation on a fully etch glass
Are you asking if you can submerge the etched glasses? Yes you can!
J&K
I love your tutorial. My question is how to work with paints or can this be done?
Hi Naomi,
Are you asking if you can paint the wine glasses instead of etching them? Yes, you can use paint specially made to use on glass. Here's a fun how-to: www.kenarry.com/how-to-paint-diy-coffee-mugs/
J&K
thank you so much
You're welcome!
Can we make the designs with masking tape or electrical tape instead of stickers? And then apply etch cream ..
Will that work?
We have used masking tape and it works fine. Here's a how-to from our blog that uses tape: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-glass-etch-a-vase/
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
Thank you so much for your reply.
I went through your link. Thanks again.
Can you etch with lace?
Great question Maria,
Fabric lace won't work because the etch cream will soak into the lace and then etch the area under the lace. You could look for die-cut stickers that look like lace instead. Hope that helps!
J&K
Hi ladies, where did you purchase your stickers?
Hi! We got the stickers at Hobby Lobby. They might carry them online. Hope that helps! J&K
Where did you buy the stickers?
We got the stickers at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbooking section. Here is a link to some: www.hobbylobby.com/search/?text=gold+glitter+flourish+stickers&quickview=80786756
Hope that helps!
J&K
OK thank you
You are welcome!
This is so cool have u ever tried a colored glass?
We've never tried that, but it sounds like a great idea! Maybe we'll try it. Let us know if you do. Jennifer & Kitty
I am still having a hard time finding the type of stickers you use. I can find just stencils, but not the kind that you will put on and then use the Armour Etch, etc. All I see online are the stencils that are etched and the rest of the glass is clear. I want the opposite, like yours are, and can't find those kind of stickers that have a sticky to the back that you place on your glass, then continue. HELP!!!!!
Hi Sue, Here are the stickers we used: tinyurl.com/2p86u2r9
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
what kind of stickers or are they stencils???? I'm confused please help
Hi Sue, These are Gold Glitter Flourish Stickers by Momenta. You can buy them from Michaels. Here's a link: www.michaels.com/momenta-glitter-stickers-gold-flourishes/10504528.html
Cheers,
J&K
When I did it some of the letters didn’t come out all the way. Could you inform me of what I might be doing wrong?
So sorry! It could be that there was a little oil from your hands that repelled the etch cream. Or perhaps not all the etch cream made good contact with the glass. We get better at it every time we make them, so try again! You can get cheap glasses to practice on at the dollar store or Goodwill.

Your glasses look like they have a blue tint...is that lighting or did you do something to achieve color?
They are clear glasses. Here's the complete written how-to with photos. runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
The greenish tint might be from the paper they are sitting on.

Great video!! Can you etch a photo onto a glass?
Great question! For this technique, we used stickers and etched the background. We have never tried etching a photo onto glass but we found this terrific how to: blog.etsy.com/en/how-tuesday-glass-photo-etching/
Neat!

Did you guys dilute your Armour Etch?
No. We used it straight from the container. Hope that helps! J&K

I cannot find any stamps, stencils, whatever you call them. I only see ones that leave the glass clear not frosted. Again I can't find any filigree that you put on your beautiful wine glasses. I live in Canton/Massillon, ohio & there is a Michaels here but I most be calling them by the wrong thing because they are giving me stamps. They do have the glue but it is Frontier brand, I think
Hi Sue, So sorry you are having trouble. We used stickers that block the etch cream from etching the glass. Then we washed off the etched cream and removed the stickers leaving a frosted negative space around the shapes where the stickers were. Here are the complete written instructions on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/how-to-etch-wine-glasses/
We used die-cut stickers by Momenta from the scrapbooking section. Here's a link to buy them from Michaels: www.michaels.com/momenta-glitter-stickers-gold-flourishes/10504528.html
Hope that helps! Let us know if you need anything else.
