I played this song for my roommate, Joey last night while we were driving to get ice cream. He said "dude what was up with that weird monologue thing he just did?" And when the instrument cable making a weird part came on, he said, "wow I don't think I like this band at all". Keep in mind, this is all said in a pretty playful way, because it's a known thing in the house I love music that people wouldn't. I don't know what the point of this story is, but I love this band more than any band ever. Jake Ewald is forever my favorite songwriter
After finishing this Album, and then subsequently playing it on repeat for approximately 48 hours, My words now are the same as when I finished it for the first time: It's Perfect.
You know exactly what to do with your hands... Gonna listen to this right before I next do a presentation or performance or something lol. Beautiful stuff.
I remember when I saw you guys in Tampa last year, I noticed a few of you walking around the block beforehand. There were cars driving with their roofs down and loud radios blasting. This song feels really personal to me, I love it
When I listen to this album I think of the scene painted in “104 Degrees”. A person sitting cross legged on a park bench in the early fall, a slight breeze and with the leaves changing colors while flowing in the wind. They have a hot cup of coffee sitting next to them that you can see steam coming out of the top. They’re sitting there and reading a poetry book, this albums lyrics is the book and the person imagines the music in their head going along with what they’re reading. There’s no other band that gives the same feel that Slaughter Beach, Dog does. Like an old sentimental blanket wrapping you on a chilly winter day next to a fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa in your hands. Please stop never making music.
Dude, i saw the cat and i said to myself, if the cat gets up and leaves as the music swells, this is going to be a good song, and the cat got up and left and it was a good song, and now, the greatest compliment that I will ever give to someone is "you are familiar to me like a slaughter beach dog song"

Amazing album, thank you for this amazing Christmas gift!
If all the pent energy in me wanting to go to a concert again was a song, this would be that song.

At first I didn’t really get it. Didn’t care for the spoken word. Then it all clicked for some reason. Easily one of my favorite sbd songs
Your songwriting reminds me a lot of Jarvis Cocker (besides Lou Reed and David Byrne)... That's supposed to be a compliment.
