    I am amazed how long they have been doing these rowing crossings and no deaths. Speaks volumes for the great work of the organizers! This needs to be an TV show like Deadliest Catch!

    I admire ALL who do this challenge and I might try it some day. But to describe this as rowing across the ocean I think diminishes what is REALLY required and what is happening which is wind, currents, weather, leveraged by rowing, and mental strength of the crews! A hell of a lot more complicated than just go out and row across an ocean! If I am wrong, then why are so many of these videos the crews are talking about the impact of the winds as if they were on sail boats? PS that is why ancient mariners quickly moved beyond rowing to sails :)

    Hey everybody,
    I hope this finds you all well and in good health?
    Question; have you ever heard of Dragon or drgtoken?
    They are doing some fantastic work with serving/former injured/able-bodied forces personnel.
    Former Royal Marines Commando ‘Paul Moynan’ is a co-founder of Dragon and his experience with Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Commandos has added an aggressive driving style to his social responsibility ethos within his business model.
    Dragon has been on the radar for just over 4 months now and already they have become heavily involved in support and sponsorship for various events that involve serving/former servicemen and women.
    One of them is Cockleshell-Pacific;
    The Great Pacific Race (Cockleshell-Pacific) - Two former Royal Marines, Steve Sparkes and Mick Dawson, are preparing to row across the Pacific Ocean in the Great Pacific Race. Sparkes lost his sight due to a diving accident during his service in the Corps, and the men aim to raise awareness and money for two charities, Blind Veterans UK and The Royal Marine Charity. The men will set off on June 2, 2018 and row 2,400 miles from California to Hawaii. They will be among a fleet of up to 20 competitors, and it will take between 50 and 60 days to finish their voyage. Dawson is a professional sailor and one of the most experienced rowers in the world. He’s had various adventures including rowing the Atlantic Ocean twice and has a Guinness World Record, as he successfully skippered the first and only rowing boat across The North Pacific Ocean.

    I really do not understand 2 hours on and 2 hours off. I would think 4 hours on and 4 hours off would be better. Off just for 2 hours you cannot get a good sleep at all!

      Can you row for four hours , it can cause damage to your body , I know the crews know better than you .
