Let me know what you think after this practice ( I was quite wobbly myself in the last balancing poses!). If you enjoy these videos, make sure to share it with others and subscribe to the channel. Thanks everyone! :)
You are one of the few yoga teachers that understands the importance of sound quality, Maris! I know it is extra work for you to record sound and video separately, and I appreciate it so much. You are my *only* at-home yoga teacher for this reason. Thank you!
The WholeHealth team did this via Zoom as our physically distanced practice during UK lockdown. We really enjoyed the pace and flow of this practice, though we had more difficulty than we expected with the peak pose! Perfect balance of challenge for us, and the right amount of cues. We really enjoyed this practice, and feel set up for the day. Thank you.
Thank you SO MUCH for such clear, learner-friendly explanation! I know exactly what to do even without looking at the screen constantly and you point out all the things that are not obvious just from looking at the pose. And thanks for such a calming voice!
I did this as a post-Thanksgiving revver-upper and it was amazing! Just what I needed to both get out the kinks and fire up for the day. Thank you so much for these practices Maris!
+C Martinez You're welcome! This is a fun practice for boosting your energy and just moving the entire body . Thanks for practicing and Happy Thanksgiving! :)
25/1/23 wow it was a sweet challenge in the AM 😌🧘🏾♀️🔝. The standing splits to toe stand sequence was incredible 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. However, I lost balance as I attempted to thread my leg through 🤦🏾♀️🐱😀. Maris 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 your creativity is 🔝 notch. THANK YOU ☺️
I remember the first time I did this class, I was like, this woman is crazy, there ain't no way I could possibly stand on one foot with the other leg in front of me, but, hey, here I am, a couple of months later, rocking it! 😁 I think I'm your no1 fan!
Thank you so much for sharing with us. I love your videos so much because you are soft and kind and your instructions flow perfect and gently. you're an amazing teacher. Many blessings to you and yours ❤
Tried this one today! ... I have a big mirror at home which I use for my practice to help me with my poses, I am horribly tight and I can tell you I was a funny sight this morning with the standing splits. LOL .... I'll try this class again next week!
Thank you so much for your beautiful and clearly focused yoga practice. I broke my ankle and had surgery about 9 months ago and the toe stands are a wonderful strengthening exercise that I have not done until now. Thank you. Namaste.
I thought I had done this practice before, but I didn't. It is a very powerful practice, I had never done these heel exercises before. The balancing on the heels with the leg up in front of me was tough, but like you say with practice I will improve my balance. I was thinking how lucky I am to have found your channel. Before I had only 3 favorite videos that I would do over and over, and now all of a sudden I have a whole variety thanks to you. I hope more people gets your message and take advantage of the great healing power of Yoga. Many exercise trends come and go, but the fact that Yoga has been active for more than 5,000 years it is for some reason. NAMASTE!
+Paul Carrillo Thanks for trying this out. Yes, the toe stand balancing series is challenging but good for strengthening the legs and feet. Yoga is wonderful and beneficial for many reasons so it is my hope too that more people are reached by this practice. Thanks again and Namaste :)
Another great class! Love the intense foot and ankle work - standing splits, raised ankle in virabhadrasana II, and the last balance that I don't know the name for! I didn't notice your wobbles, I was too busy focusing on my own!
+vien nguyen That is nice of you to say! Thanks for practicing with me :) I post on my Facebook page too so feel free to connect with me over there facebook.com/maris.yoga/
+Matt West Thanks for trying it out! This is a fun and challenging flow. I don't do this sequence a lot in my other classes but I plan on filming more videos that are similar to this. Namaste :)
EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you, amazing session - your instructions were perfect :) The first time I tried to follow this video I struggled a lot, but love returning to it again and seeing a little improvement each time. It makes me feel strong!!
I really enjoyed this one, especially the foot work. It is a bit different than the usual classes, which is nice. I'd love to do more classes like this. You are a wonderful teacher, all the poses are always well explained. I just have to glance at the video. Thank you for everything!
Hi Maris. This flow was amazing.. The leg balance were not my strong point. Yours definately looked awesome. Today my legs were not as strong as other days. That is yoga. your really a lovely addition to my afternoon. Thank you Cheers, Kate :)
+TooFIT4You Thanks for trying it out, Kate! Yes, everyday is different. The standing balances are challenging and it took me a while too to feel more confident in the poses. It's fun to try new things. :)
You're welcome! Thanks for joining me for practice. :) Also, Just wanted to share some news...I'm not sure if you're aware, I launched a Yoga Upload Membership site! So wonderful and some variations I haven’t tried! Did we forget to do core planks on the left or is it just me? Thank you Mari’s! My new favorite teacher☺️. I can’t figure out how you get your cues recorded to match so perfectly🧐. Do you record them before or after?
I enjoyed this class, you added a few different things and that is important when one has been doing yoga a long time. I don't like a teacher that chatters constantly and you didn't do that. I don't like a teacher that feels they have to tell me to inhale/exhale each time (or at all, I know how to breath during yoga) and you didn't do that. I liked your speed and tone and manner. Thank you for a great class.
I enjoyed this practise, very well guided, great feeling in my body afterwarrds - though I couldn't follow you in balancing on one toe, not yet ;) Thank you!
Thank you. I have been following your classes to guide my practice at home when I need breaks from the white-culture centered yoga instruction I get at the studio. Very grateful to follow a POC instructor. Many many thanks.
Hello Maris: thank you for this wonderful yoga class and for sharing with others . I also love the music during the sequence. It would be great if you cold tell me the source. Namaste from Germany . 💕 Gabriele
Amazing workout Maris. The toe-balancing on standing splits was very challenging and I couldn't do the one-legged squats after that (e.g. at 33 mins) but I felt brilliant after this session. One thing Maris, I have very tight hamstrings and wonder if you could do a short video for this and similar leg stretches - or build it into a longer session. However, please avoid pigeon as I have knee problems!
+Ross Maynard Thanks for watching! I have this 20-minute video ua-cam.com/video/xe8gsUA8FIc/v-deo.html - it's Yoga Stretch for Hips and Hamstrings. This is a gentle flow. We use a strap to stretch the lower body and this is great for tight hamstrings. There is pigeon "on your back" and not the traditional pigeon so hopefully it won't be a big problem for the knees. I have another video with floor splits and standing splits ua-cam.com/video/rYNByn97880/v-deo.html - it's Vinyasa Flow Yoga Full Class - Strength Flexibility Balance - if you want a stronger practice. Hope that helps! - Maris
+Yoga Upload I just did the 20 minute hips and hamstrings video and it is very nice. Pretty fierce on the muscles but I definitely feel better for it and will make it a regular. Pigeon on my back as great!
I'm so glad I've discovered your channel! I've done a few of the classes now and really enjoyed them, they're fun and challenging at the same time. Thank-you, I'll look forward to working through your videos! :) xxx
Very nice flow, thank you. Please keep doing what you're doing. My only suggestion would be to add some light music in the background. Otherwise, I love it!
+Elizabeth Mishkin Thanks for practicing with me! I'm still looking for more copyright-free music to use for the videos. I'll try to add some music in the background in some of the future videos. :)
+Teresa Beckett Hi Teresa, you need to involve your core strength. When you do core planks (hugging knee in to the chest), round your back and really bring your knee in to the chest as you push the floor away. Practicing this will help you get stronger and you will also have a lot of space to bring the foot as close to your hands as possible. Makes sense? It would be better for me to make video on this, haha. Might do that soon. Hope that helps.

Maris, loooooved this. I need more classes from you! Challenging ones. Do you have an app to which we can subscribe for more classes? Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi Maria! I'm working on a new membership site that I will launch soon. Stay tuned. Thanks for the support :)
Can you explain how to successfully move back leg to meets hand from downward facing dog? My foot wants to remain some 12" behind...
