I remember this from when I was a kid. It was around the same time they had the A-Team stunt show, which then became the Miami Vice Action Spectacular, which finally became Waterworld.
This was not the original version which I created for the attraction. I don't know who messed with the show, but the original was better. Of course I would think that.
There’s another video on UA-cam titled Universal Studios 1984 Tram Tour. Robert, that pretty closely resembles my memory as a 13 year old. I went on it multiple times. BSG was my favorite show as a kid. That one has the original dialogue, and the person playing Apollo shooting the Cylons, and their blowing in half. It includes the Imperious Leader dialogue recorded by Patrick Macnee (who was also Count Iblis on the show), and the Cylon voices. This one is just...wrong beyond the Cylons on patrol outside the ship.
The original was better. As I remember, it didn't have that flashing light under the leader's throne, and a Cylon Centurion spoke after Patrick Macnee's voice said, "Speak, Centurion".
I remember they had this attraction up until the mid-90s so I know this attraction was there for over 15 years I saw it in the early 80s and then I went back in 1995 and they had just got rid of it. The tour guide for the tram still had the Battlestar Galactica attraction on it up until the mid-90s.
Right you are Dale. I was not happy to see this. When I put the show together, The voice of the Imperious Leader was performed by Patrick McNee who did the voice in the TV series. And unlike this one, the voice of the Colonial warrior was pre recorded. I know this because it was my voice. And in the original release everything worked correctly including the Warrior Cannon. The attraction ran for 9 years. I have no idea when the screwed it up.
Hi Amy! This is great footage. I'm putting together a youtube video about the history of Universal Hollywood - Would it be possible to use a clip of your video (with credit)?

Nice to know
Saw this a few times. One of the rare cases of a stop on the tour having a live actor.
Actually great video footage from it being decades ago. Nice upload 👌

I also saw the one where the Cylons split once shot, was in August '81. Awesome job, as a 9 year old i was blown away!

Yes!!! This was so great! I remember it!!
I work at universal and even though this was taken out before I was born we still get asked about it.

I wish it was still there
I loved going on that ride.
Absolutely my fav as a kid. When was this footage taken?
Wow! I never knew there was a Battlestar Galactica attraction!
In the name of the 12 colonies of man I demand the release of the humans.
Do you recall when recorded this. This must have been 84 or later. The Imperious Leaded voice was changed. Thanks for posting this.
Had to have been in late 80s or very early 90s. The guy in front was wearing a Simpsons shirt.
I believe you are correct. This was the late 80's to the early 90's.

Boy they must of spent billions Just for a two minute ride
Why do parents bring crying babies to amusement park rides?
I feel bad for that actor. Having to dance around and say that corny dialogue.
