Sounds like that car is suffering from noisy wiring...When you put the battery in the trunk and you dont ground the battery to the frame and ground the engine to the frame also if the relays and starter solenoids arent diode suppressed flyback will take its toll on the sensors etc and it shows......You should do a vid of the fuel injectors power wire being power checked while cranking and running against what the battery shows.....Ill bet theres atleast a 4 volt difference and the low running temps reflect on that too.............
Crank signal is fine. Like I wrote in the video, it’s is a limiter…not breakup due to losing sync. The ecu is activating a limiter that should be impossible to be independently activated. It shows in the log clear as day but there is no explanation as to why. We have seen this behavior in the past…corrupt file was randomly engaging transbrake for single frames. Short or corrupt file is where we are leaning. I’ve created a new cal from scratch, Will be testing later 👍🏼
Sure. You can stretch out the time really long on it that way. Just think of it as any time you have methanol/ethanol in the tank it’s reacting, the more humidity in the air during that time the faster it reacts, so the less time you have it in there the longer it will take before you start seeing the impact and getting noticeable debris.
You sure the mech pump alone can handle the sustained volume for full throttle 1/4 because if it falls behind and the mixture goes lean and burns a hole in the head your buddy wont be happy
Hey guys I'm sorry but I gotta be honest with you I'm not real sure how well the Radiator is going to work out in the configuration my brutha but hey maybe I'm wrong ...But then what kind of Real "Motorhead Car guy drag racer has Methanol running thru aluminum Fuel cell wouldn't a dual fuel system have worked out if this car guy was going to be messing around with Multi fuel ..
PTSFab didn’t build this car. It has been together for years so I assume it works well. But we havnt tested it on long drives ourselves yet. other things we “assumed”about this car’s condition/capability have not panned out great so Nick may end up working out something new of it fails lol. We will see!
Oh hi. Didn’t think you came around these parts. And you are right lol Liam made 1180, but that was at 27lbs and max effort and rpm. This was 9lbs with like 1500rpm left to go lol. It’s got big boi capability lol.
Nunber one change: get away from ethanol.. Alcohol is a pain in the butt. Number 2 change: go back to the simplicity and reliability of carburetors. Injectors can be problematic...
Alcohol is not a pain in the ass if done properly lol. You can’t take a system meant for gas and assume it will do well with a completely different fuel. Tank needs to be hard anodized on the inside or plastic, if you are going to store it just fill it up and seal the tank by using a caps on the return. It’s really as easy as that. No more aluminum reaction, no more fuel system debris. And you just said to go back to carb so I can no longer take you seriously lol. That’s just silly. Fuel injection is not a problem lol, THIS fuel injection system was a problem. But this problem can be fixed.
@@Therendonfamilia Talk to Steve Morris about injectors on his engine and others, and If fuel injection is not a problem, then why have you been hired to try and fix it? If you want to deal with the corrosive nature of Alcohol, thats up to you. There's a reason why racers tend to stay away from it, "silly"
@@kevins5833 racers stay away from it? From what? Alcohol? Oh no sir. Get in out there more man, because 99% of non nitrous cars that race at the level of this car are methanol. I don’t think I need to speak to Steve Morris but I have a feeling if I did he would agree with something a lot closer to what I am saying than he would with “gasoline and carburetor all the things” lol. What I am trying to say is that when a fuel system is meant for alcohol, the level of maintenance required is almost no different than a gas motor. Alcohol reacts with aluminum yes but there are lots of things it DOESNT react with…so blaming alcohol is like blaming an acid when you pour it in your hands…you know it will react so why would you put it in your hands without wearing proper gloves? And we know it absorbs lots of water so why would we leave the system unsealed in a humid place for months at a time…you can’t treat it incorrectly and then get angry at the fuel lol. As for this car in particular, I was hired to fix this vehicle because it was it ran like garbage because it has a fuel system that is not meant for alcohol and was stored improperly for months. Something that would have done the same thing to a carburetor system. Zero difference in result there. Efi gives us the ability to instantly change fuels for a street car that needs to be capable of running on three different fuel at the push of a button. It allows me to be more efficient with fuel mileage on all three fuels. Just two major benefits of THIS car to be efi instead of carburetor. Carburetors have their place, I am not saying they suck in general, but it’s is not a solution by any means for anything we are doing with this car, at all 🤷🏻♂️. Not even a little. but it could be on a future car. Maybe even mechanical injection. Everything has its moment to shine.
Come on bubba that car is not even ready to run now you got it on a Dino and shit's falling out from underneath it fuel water don't know what it is I bet you I got it brains that's some funny shit right there LOL

Time to watch something else when you guys figured it out and you get all the adjustments made and all that bullshit and your arm gets tired of flapping around pointing at this and pointing in that I might watch it again to see what happens but other than that I am not impressed I got junkyard Motors the sit right here in my shop waiting to get the next one built that start idle and run better than the one that you got all that money in so have a nice day boys I'd be embarrassed
@@bigboreracing356 yep. Although I think the heads were refreshed before it got to the new owner but the fuel and electrical systems need Jesus still lol. The tps was shorting out, the electric pump stopped working all together, there were NO fuel filters at all in the system post pump (a filter housing was there but no filter element inside it….) so everything in the system has been going straight to the injectors. It runs well for about 3 days and then just clogs them right up again and they have to be cleaned. There is also an electrical gremlin and we found out the previous owner and tuner were aware of it lol. On their recent track outings it was doing the same random limiter we were experiencing on the dyno. I don’t think the owner was told of that issue before he bought it so it took all of us by surprise. It’s a proven platform but needs some love to the fuel and electrical system to be great again. Great video!! Intro was awesome, well put together. Enjoyed this one from start to finish!
My first button is on the left too. Personal preference. Bad ass car

Put a 10 micron fuel filter on. And verify crank sensor gap

So is it okay to use an aluminum tank as long as you drain it at the end of a race day or race weekend and put pump gas in it?

Yes, as I mentioned, the mechanical pump alone is enough.
Turbos are nice, but pro chargers are much better and deliver better results
