I thought you were supposed to follow PEMDAS so wouldnt you do 70+35 and not 40-70? Addition comes before subtraction
PEMDAS does have addition before subtraction, but the order of addition and subtraction actually doesn't matter as long as you do what's in the parenthesis first, then the multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. If you take care of all of this, then you'll still get the same answer whether you add or subtract first.
