- This is probably one of the most non-event ASMR roleplays I've done in some time, but if you like near-future bureaucracy or soft spoken questions, then perhaps it'll help you sleep. Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
Disclaimer: This video is intended for relaxation. Any views, opinions, or advice expressed is purely for the purpose of entertainment, and to induce tingles through ASMR. These videos are not a substitute for traditional medicine, therapy, or any other professional medium, and should not be treated as such! the idea of citizens getting compensated for smoking cause it kills them in a timely fashion might be the most dystopian thing I've ever heard
I know alcoholics that get paid by the government to keep drinking, basically just been written off and given free license to drink themselves to death.

One of my favorite narrative styles (don’t know exact term) is when an author drops you in the middle of a setting-no exposition or establishing shots-and you have to puzzle out what the hell is going on from contextual clues and dialogue. Well done, this was a treat.
The slow reveal where Bert tells us about himself reminds me of the end of 12 Monkeys. Maybe the feeling it gives? Post-Apocalyptic setting as well. (Although the movie was Post-, and Pre-, and plain ol’ Apocalyptic)

I found it, y’all! Cold open in TV and film, yes! Especially if it functions as a teaser before the title sequence/title card. For literature, it’s called “in medias res.”

Bertrand feels like he's the same guy from Bureaucratic Dystopian State Monopoly, just older, and the state dystopia just got even more dystopian and bureaucratic.
That was a superbly crafted dramatic monologue. I didn't get any ASMR from it but I was completely spellbound and the emotional turn at the end was immaculate. Subscribed.

I can’t quite explain why this is my favorite Jim video. The character of Rand is great. The idea behind this world is great. And the whole idea of dark bureaucracy/dystopian post-war bleakness as ASMR is great.
This whole thing is fascinating.

I had sirens and other loud city noises going on outside while I was watching this and that added to the atmosphere

I had a lot of reservations about this new government, but a life time supply of special K. Not the worst regime to ever be in charge.
I want to see a sequel to this where a new regime takes over and he has to do all this again lol. maybe this ones better, maybe its even worse.
This feels less like 1984 and more like Gulag Archipelago. The author was a russian veteran of WW2 who was imprisoned for making anti-soviet comments in a letter to a friend

This was so great to listen to. So calming, relaxing, with just the right bit of intriguing lore and mystery. I only wish there was smooth jazz and/or typing sounds to mix in... :)

This isn't ASMR, but it's awesomely scripted. Bertrand is, though really formal, really lovable.
He's trying so hard to be helpful and nice while having a horrendous job where he basically needs to threaten you every sentence.

I love your ASMR Jim and I 100% appreciate this is YOUR channel and you can do whatever you want but nearly every video has you smoking and I HATE the smell of cigarettes and it really distracts me from the actual ASMR 😬 not sure if anyone feels the same but anyway, thank you for the great video!
I also despise smoking and cigarettes but it doesn't bother me at all on video. Probably bc i can't smell it. Maybe u just gotta learn to separate the visual from the olfactory in this situation, the smoking on the video won't affect your life after all. But it would be good to have a trigger warning if anything, kinda like there's warnings for sensitive or offensive topics or gunshots
