it's crazy how i have been producing in ableton for a lil under a decade now & i still learn new ways & ideas from videos like this. I always stay away from resampling for some reason but what you did here was pretty cool! & i respect the OTT at 14% OTT at under 20% is the secret sauce to make leads sound a million times better lol.
I feel the same way...I'm constantly learning new stuff that gets me super excited to jump back in and experiment. And yes, small amounts of OTT do the trick like every time lol. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
I found this very useful, thank you. Sometimes the creativity of Ableton is so endless, that you need someone to give you a foundation, or, to put it philosophically, it's not freedom to be lost in the woods. One tip I learned from another guy I like to watch is that: if you put your EQ into mid side, select the mid option, create a highpass and sweep it up around the 100-200hz area, you will really start to hear your bass and kick better, without all the messy low-mid side signal! Let me know if it is useful to you!
I know what you mean…when the options are endless, it’s overwhelming. That’s why I try to keep my tracks pretty minimal. I’ll have to check out that bass and kick trick…sounds useful. Thanks!
Another great video and song K.Hart. I really appreciate you explaining the shortcuts that you use as it's something that I always struggle with! Love that pad technque too!
Just want to say: thank you so, so much. You are a phenomenal teacher. Is there a way I can support your content? It's beyond inspirational and I made my first ever complete Ableton track because of you.
That’s amazing! I’m so happy my content is helpful. I’m planning on setting up a Patreon and coming back with more content in the next couple weeks. So stay tuned and thank you 😊
Hey Lovely Lady, Dope videos as always. your musicality always shines through no matter the genre that you dive into. Did you end up getting that electric violin? Would love to see you play and lay down a track in Ableton! Valhalla Supermassive is so smooth and wonderful I absolutely love it!
Hey, thanks! Yes, planning on incorporating the electric violin soon! I bought a 5 string, so I’m still kind of getting used to it 😁 and definitely agree on Supermassive. Even better, it’s free!
Yup Supermassive is the best free plugin for sure, smooth and lush AF! Looking forward to your next videos! Such a huge fan of your work. I've made a lofi too after some understanding of how you use Ableton. Could you please leave a link for the free Valhallah VST (mentioned in the video) can't seem to find it. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I’m using pretty much the same as in the video below. The only thing I added was a notch filter with a slow LFO to slightly move it in the midrange. How to Make Dark, Future Garage from Scratch with Ableton Stock Plugins ua-cam.com/video/WqCcwzd7HPQ/v-deo.html
