About the goth fashion bit specifically as someone who has a dark inclined fashion sense, I think it's just a japan vs american ideas thing. Like Goth in the Japan seems to be all about the actual aesthetic of gothic, like the gothic cathedrals and it's very dramatic and regal. While US goth is a music subculture with a secondary focus on fashion, which is about impersonating your idols or partaking in other goth aesthetics. But also US goth fashion has a huge focus on makeup, arguably the clothing can be secondary to the makeup, and I don't think style savvy is ready for eyeliner to your hairline with gray contor yet. But, if I was to make a hypothetical Goth boutique, this is what I would include. Big shoes, big platform shoes, maybe add a couple of different colors to make them functional for other styles, and they should be wide-set. Band shirts, goth is a music based subculture first and formost so a band shirt would make sense. Anchs, anch necklaces, earings, etc. Pastel goth, pastel goth is kinda dated but if you're doing a kids game the "creepy cute" thing would work very well for younger audiences. Fun but grim jewlery, like knife earings or something. Some of the current gothic styles could work like the pants and some of the blouses, but the game would have to add a bunch more casual pieces. Straps and chains on everything. For mens goth style, long trenchcoats, big boots, ripped jeans, seethrough tops, tophats, etc etc just make it campy as hell.
I love how I was watching the part about the terrible release practices and realized I don't actually remember how I got my physical copy of fashion forward. Also when it comes to the dating stuff I'm a lesbian and I tend to develop crushes on cool girl type characters so my character is dating Yolanda in Styling Star I have decided that for myself

Nintendo released a Direct with a Style Savvy's spiritual successor, Fashion Dreamer. Syn Sophia is involved of the development of the upcoming game and will be published by Marvelous Games.
Never played this game, sounded like so much fun. Ngl there were many ds games that were banger but unkown due to lack of marketing or because they didn't have a major studio behind it. As a 8-16 year old I had so much for the ds era
Style savvy was a major hit in France. All my friends had it and I didn’t have a ds and dreamed of getting it. I’m surprised it wasn’t that big elsewhere…
I wish and damand Updated version of all 4 games fo the switch called Girls Mode Legacy/Style Savvy Legacy. With some new content as well as old content Old Content: Everything that had been made for it, WITH that date with Brad New Content: - Tansferring old saved files information to the next one (which could unlock new potential for the next one) - More cameo's from old characters in the next one in the line-up - More new brands - New Hair styles - More songs - Romance routes (for any gender) - Hints for a 5th game, written into the 4th game's story as well as what you mentioned in your miscellaneous part :) I want to be able to play the games on the switch before a new game comes out. Like we want to keep the Legacy of the 4 games alive before their successor comes TToTT
19:05 I think the blue means you brought that item in collection, when the blue icon isn't there, that means you hadn't brought the item 1 time yet. Pink means in stock at your boutique, if it's not there, then that's means it's not in your stock. But they didn't explain what the icons mean in game, so that statement makes sense by that. Also I really wishing for a 4th one where the Sporty (zipline) and Glam (miss ribbon) brands come back + fashion shows and Music Video customising also combine the menswear and boutique into 1 like the first game, and not be connected to real time. If I have to rank the 3 3ds games, than it would be this: 1. Style Boutique 3ds. Has a lot of brands, shops closing at different days is a smart move, fashions shows are the best in this and the exp system is genius. 2. Styling Star. Love the story and characters, sadly they removed the sporty brand, 3 days for Rosie and Alina's story to continue after their mess up scenes is too long (thankfully this game doesn't link into real time) the girls changing styles (Rosie is girls, yet changes to rock to get her confidence back after her mess up scene) is pretty cool and love the musical numbers. Also, new game + is a thing and is great for replaying to get items and achievements you may have missed. (One of the best things of this game) 3. Fashion Foward. It's still a good game, has great characters and dollhouse feature is great, but the game being linked to real time alone is why it's my weakest game.
I'm italian, and i've never seen the 1st and 2nd one, i know the 1st one but it wasn't there, the only have those: -new style boutique 2 "sempre più fashion" which is style boutique 2 always more fashion - new style boutique 3 "la moda delle star" which is style boutique "star's fashion" -then we have the one that is the 3rd in series which is before those two, but somehow in italy ended up being the last published which is new style boutique
Had you heard about fashion dreamer ? It comes out next month and we've known about it all year I forgot it was a thing for a while because it was announced in a Nintendo direct in January and it comes out in November but it seems to be a collab project from syn Sophia and a brand new take on style savvy

I would honestly try to get them all, but I kinda am also like, Get Styling Star. It has a new game + mode so you can play it over again but you keep everything in the shop, your wardrobe, funds, that way if you want to see the story again, you don't have to lose everything.
Plus, Styling Star is eShop exclusive. Maybe one day you could get lucky and find a cheap physical copy of Fashion Forward :,) they are pretty similar in a lot of ways and I love both but Styling Star has a lot of small quality life updates too.
It is part the next game and it fun. I get your points it totally valuable. But I think due to the design and also being part of a game designer/developer intern I think it also reflects on the size of the game switching from console to pc I can see why size storage is a huge thing. Size storage doesn't also just tell how much gb/storage but it also has to do wit the time due date, the budget, and etc. It probably why we don't have a diverse system of having more customization. Because each sales to the game is going to the next version to the game if you think about it...

I only learned Style Savvy's existence when Syn Sophia was formerly known as AKI, a game dev studio that created the best fighting game engine reused throught the years (from WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF No Mercy, Virtual Pro Wrestling, up to Def Jam Fight For New York and KuhoRyo). Kinda weird how a dev studio known for fighting games has quickly shifted and rebranded to create such girly games like Style Savvy, though KuhoRyo was created during Syn Sophia era. But then again, how the mighty got fallen.
Fallen? They made two popular series, one for the arcade, Pripara, and Style Savvy. And unlike the other fashion games you can find, they don't hand hold or treat you like you're five. It's literally given them something to hang on to. They were even contracted to do a Dragon Quest Arcade game. They just decided to go a different route and it worked for them.

I think regarding your idea on more styles I would actually disagree, I want the current styles to be exanded WAY MORE. Girly, femmenine and bold all tend to get the most items per style while things like the ethnic, chic and gothic all get very little (which you did point out on gothic being basically dark baby doll not really goth). The current styles just need more detail and overhall. Especially with styling star I began to find a lot of items from different brands and styles began to get too repetetive, they really need to focus more on cultivating solid and creative items for each style instead of adding lots of new shallow ones imo.
