I can't stop watching all of these wonderful Enchroma videos of colorblind people seeing colors for the first time. I have teared up several times with many of them. It's like watching the deaf people hearing for the first time with cochlear implants.
+Bryce Byerley Is there not a famous book about that? Where 1 guy invents a new colour (I'm Scottish) and tries to describe it to the world? If not a book I've definitely seen the premise somewhere.
DigitalTwisted Heh...there is also _The Colour Out of Space_ by Lovecraft that tries to describe the same thing, but the ending is not so happy as these videos.
Um, three. Can't quit smiling with every one of these videos! The people who invented the glasses are absolute geniuses! What a blessing ❣️ for colorblind people to be able to break out of their dull prison!!!
I only know one person who's colorblind but I can't stop watching these videos. It really makes me think how people just take seeing in color for granted. It helps me appreciate how colorful our world is.
One of my fondest art projects is to use different colors of acrylic paints on a homemade Gel Plate & discover new colors that are blended by the rolling action of a brayer. Another favorite thing to do is to look at the multitude of colors of agates, Jaspers, etc, around the world via the web. So many colors that God/Nature blesses us with. Now, colorblind people are able to enjoy what we who aren't colorblind enjoy! So exciting to see & share with the newly sighted people what they go through. Very moving! Thx!!!
No, it actually doesn't matter much. The recommendation from Enchroma is just a piece of common sense and nothing else. There is no scientific research to support the claim that keeping the glasses on is essential in any way whatsoever. I would in fact suggest to Enchroma that they _remove_ that "recommendation" from their manual as it seems only to create confusion and stress. Just state that in some cases several hours are necessary for the effect to "kick in" but otherwise don't stop people from flipping the glasses, it's aggravating as some people's emotional makeup and reaction is such that they _must_ remove the glasses briefly, otherwise they feel _really_ uncomfortable. Let's be reasonable for a moment: the visual cortex _had_ been receiving the confusing, anomalous, visual input for a few _decades_ now, so why would a few extra _minutes_ (literally) of "confusion" due to the glasses flipping make any difference?
I would probably flip the glasses, too. It would be fun to switch between the dull world & the real world to experience the miracle over & over again! When comparing the two world's, it makes the experience more 'real' I should think. Imo.

Wow...that had got to be mind boggling. Can you even imagine the idea of seeing a new color? How would you even describe it?

"Comes with a user manual, I'll read that later."
I seriously laughed out loud at what a "guy" move that is. Righteous.
"You're a genius..."
"I am? :I"
Haha that's adorable. This is so cool I'm really happy this exists.

Dad / Justin has a good sense of humor. Wifey sounds like a sweetheart. What a life moment! Congrats to the whole family.
Man, they needed these glasses in the 80's
Imagine how amazing a trip to the paint store will be for him! Hundreds of different paint colors!!
Great upload! It was amazing to see the world through different eyes.
“Come look at this!” Best reaction award. Aww!
Congratulations. This is such a sincere video. Thank you for sharing your story.
The more we see things the more invisible it is. So value and appreciate the simple things that we have. Godbless to ya'll and have a Great Day! 😊💕
“My whole life has been a lie”. You're actually saying a truth that's universal to all of us.
Great video! Man, your kids are beautiful.
I guess the closest comparison I can think of, might be like how I felt as a kid......when we got our first color television set.
It doesn't matter if they know not to keep flipping the glasses. They just always do. It's touching watching this. Thanks for sharing.
Men: “Comes with a users' manual. I'll read that later.”

The colorblindness of Ray Romano
Good man, keep him close, before the word gets out
That looks like Stanley Park in Westfield, MA. Very colorful.

Nobody keeps the glasses on and they get the bland experience, what a shame

woman is awesome in her place
I’ll read the user manual later……

"...you're a genius"
"...I am?"
