One type of printer is so rare as to be sexy - the fully working printer. But I’ve yet to encounter one in a work situation! 😂 Emezi is always worth a read so an auto-buy author for me now.
Your Andrew Bolt comment had me laughing out loud! I’m visiting family atm in North West Wales where you can walk down a street and only hear Welsh 🏴 💕 glad more people are reading the Blue Book of Nebo. 😊
Love the way you review a book - thank you. I got some to add to my list. Definitely not the printer one - I agree there are far sexier office equipment out there 😆 Also thanks for the Andrew Bolt eggplant head laugh
As someone who has an Indian MIL: They take pride in being mean. That’s all the motivation they need. Mine can be relied upon to tell me how fat I am, how my freckles have multiplied, how my son is not as gifted as he might have been, and on. Good times. Good to see you! Hope all is lovely in Aus!
I still need to read catherine newman's we all want impossible things which I cannot understand WHY i haven't yet as it isn't very long and is about grief. Glad to know you enjoyed little rot! I have been seeing some mixed reviews from their usual fans, so it's good to see such a shining one. Ooh, I happened to meet Ela Lee at an event and decided then and there to buy her book and get it signed / have a little chat with her. As I'd seen it around instagram a lot previously when it came out. Good to know it is actually a genuinely good debut as well.
Great video. Was surprised how much you liked Sandwich. Its on my pile and I've yet to read it but it sounds like I might actually enjoy it. Just finished Black Butterflies from the Women's Prize Short list 2023. No a lot of plot but loved the main character and the setting of Sarajevo during the siege. Thank you for these many reviews.
Thank you for the great video! I also felt Swift River was just average and LOVED Jaded All this discussion on vegetarians in the meat processing industry I am going to highly suggest Fowl Eulogies- Lucie Rico where a vegetarian's inheritance is a Poultry Farm. She is obviously conflicted and therefore runs the farm in a VERY unconventional way
Something from every continent? Did I miss the book from Antarctica? The Blue Book of Nebo sounds intriguing but bleak. A new Akwaeke Emezi is interesting, Freshwater was amazing.
Are we talking a Laser Printer....because if you are old enough to remember the old dot matrix printers.... well Laser Printers are more eye candy. I'm actually intrigued by the 3 themes that you brought up in this one.
I loved Of Cattle and Men, but - I guess in light of this review - I occasionally like trash! All reading is subjective, so you could hate or love the book... although, I hope you enjoy it, given it's one you bought!

Great reviews. I am looking forward to trying Sandwich!

So pleased you enjoyed The Blue Book of Nebo. 🏴 It’s sooo beautiful 💙
I have Jaded on my kindle so it’s great to hear you talk so highly of it. 😊

I one hundred percent agree with label makers and laminators being far more appealing than a printer. So maybe that means there’s sequel potential? 😜
Swift River and Dark Emu sound interesting. Thanks for the review.

I hated hard copy I gave it back
Andrew Bolt trigger warning required! I saw Bruce Pascoe give a talk a few years ago, he was very interesting and very gentle in his approach.
My book club read Jaded and only two of us liked it. I thought it was so well done. I’m still thinking about Little Rot.
Emezi does that, stays in your brain long after their work as finished

Early laser printers I get, but these modern ones, they've got a mind of their own.
Damn... I bought Of Cattle and Men. I should've waited for you😢
