Because they don't move freely like double strands twists or braids, cornrows do not normally lock up if you wash them, take care of them regularly and don't use products that can create matting and build up. When done properly and taken care of the same cornrows can be kept for a long time without the need to take them down. Of course, this method may not work for everyone. The key to any successful protective style is to know your hair and take care of it.

You can kinda see where her buildup is, that’s how you can tell how much new growth it is, from her scalp all way to the buildup is all the new growth.
That’s a bad habit to break. I used to do that back in the day. Leaving my box braids in for 9 months to a year, which was due to sheer laziness, not feeling up to taking them out. It dreaded and couldn’t be removed without taking most of my old hair with it. It grew to my waist but was back to neck after removing the dreads.
I feel like I'd leave my hair in up until the baby shower (when's that like 7 months?) when I start having kids. And THEN I'd do the 9 months once the babies out 😂😂
You can also braid your natural naturally with out anyway weave too. Personally I would leave them in for 7 to 9 months. And the easiest way to clean your hair is braid it in singles and leave then in for 7 to 9 months of choice. You can leave them in for 3 or for whatever you choose on how long you want them in. For better results, leave them in longer and wash it between those months.👍🏼😊 Also eating healthy is also great to have better hair health and rapid growth. And a healthy body. 😊👍🏼❤ Be patient with your hair. Do a protective style, moisturize it and leave your hair alone let it do what it doo!!!😉😁
