Besides being perfectly descriptive of Michael, "Somehow I Manage" is unironically a good book title.
It sounds like a self help book for managers.
@@mega_bird700 that’s the joke
Its perfect.
It has 2 meanings

The way he mentions how upset corporate will be and looks at Jan
@@arthurvalaer5306 I thought his best moment was when Jan starts talking about price, and Michael knows if the discussion is about price they can't compete with the big chains, so he just yells out gibberish to change the subject. Genius.
@@tb7667 That's why they needed a codeword, so he wouldn't have to just shout gibberish. And he was right. It was brilliant, because in the beginning, before the meeting when Jan is going to run the meeting and shuts him down, we feel he's right, seeing we know how incompetent he is. But he's only incompetent as a manager. As a salesman, he is incredible.
That was a great way to show why Michael is competent at something. Just being a weird manager wouldn't build that character for all those seasons. They gave him a reason to be so important to the company At that moment and so the audience saw him as a pro.
The interactions between David Wallace and Michael are just perfect. He's the only person that seems to really appreciate and somewhat understand Michael.
Easily the most patient guy on the show lol
David and Pam are the two person who truly understand Michael
I think David doesn't understand Michael all that much but he at least knows he's doing something right for the company .
David wanted to do what was best for the company to make money. They always said in the show how all the other branches were struggling. He tolerated michaels many flaws because the Scranton branch seemed to work with Michael in charge. Just like in real businesses, a lot of flaws are overlooked when you are making money
I don't think he appreciated Michael but merely tolerated him well, after all Michael was denied a promotion.
"Don't be an idiot", changed my life
Yes. Before I do something, I ask myself "would an idiot do that?" and if they would, I do not do that thing.

Other actors were doing great, thats for sure. But the writers pretty messed up on some of the episodes like the character of Andy. I really hate why they gave the manager job to nelly so easily. Michael was removed from his management position, came back fighting and started his own company, outsold his former employment, and then got his position back after a good deal selling his new company. Yes, Michael need no business school. 😂
I have worked with corporate for decent number of years, and I havent seen what value business school adds.
Business school just feels like finishing school to me.
That is why people with bachelors in general business administration
are so unemployable, it is literally one of the easiest degrees to get. If you really wanna do business you need to specialize in something like finance, accounting, or logistics
@@jsgames6843 that and somehow people still don’t simply understand how to operate a business that works for the customer rather than just looking to make a profit. Most businesses fail nowadays because they lose all their integrity with bad management, cutting corners, and trying to cut quality costs so they can make their budget sheet look nicer. instead of going after the customers who just want a high quality product for a reasonable price.
