      @@peacebewu One of the main issues with DM is how much money they waste on luxuries for Corporate (offices far bigger and more luxurious than necessary, limousines, expensive hotels) so I'm sure David is quite overpaid.

      They were actually going to have him cut up the dollar bill, but they learned you can't do that because it's defacing currency, so they changed it to crumpling it up and pocketing it and it's even funnier. And it fits the situation so well because given his financial hole, Michael is not throwing away any money.

      can't you see the silver lining that Erin points out at the end?
      it's the story of how false hope spurred self improvement for a group of kids.
      plus, the sing along part is good:
      hey Mr Scott whatcha gonna do? whatcha gonna do, make our dreams come true.
      there was a point in his life when Michael was even more unrealistic... his kid's show interview:
      having 100 kids so he can have 100 friends is kinda like taking on a parental role (tuition) for kids resulting in them celebrating him.

      ​@@Funky-Channel not quite. according to the facts, most americans today are "severely rent burdened", an economic term that means they work full time and still spend 30-50% of that on housing, which puts them at a dangerous risk of homelessness and makes it a really tight struggle to cover all the essentials. america has a massive wealth gap (more massive, even, than france in 1789, and we all know what that led to) so a really very tiny percentage of americans are rich enough to afford what you say.

    Yes, money has been a little bit tight lately. But, at the end of my life, when I'm sitting on my yacht, am I going to be thinking about much money I have? No. I'm going to be thinking about, how many friends I have. And my children. And my comedy albums. I mean, I have a yacht so I obviously did pretty well money wise. This part is missing😂

    That scene with Darrell was exactly how I felt at my job being there for 10 years. Found out how much they were hiring completely green mechanics with no experience for way more than I did at the time. Absolutely furious.

      I mean, yeah he is a funny character. But he is by far the easiest to write. Basically you just give him any nonsense lines that don‘t fit any other character. The fact that you don‘t need to care for any conitnuity with him makes it so much easier to write than Jim or Pam.

    I actually know people in my company who haven't asked for a raise in 10 plus years. It's so weird it's just never occurred to them to ask. They still get like 3% a year for inflation but a real raise is like 8%

    As a railroader, it’s super dangerous to do what Michael tried (hopping the car.) so I know he probably had a ton of railroaders there to ensure he did it safely 😂

    How much he earns is the main reason the company kept him for so long without firing him for being so unproductive and bad at managing. He was occupying a management position for 14 years yet, to begin with, his salary was the lowest possible for his function, and in that time it was raised 0 times... he's the ideal employee for any corporate structure.

      @@Joe_Parmesan and people say Oscar hated Michael but I don't think thats the case. Oscar was always extremely helpful and supportive of Michael, even helped him get out of debt when it wasnt even part of his job to. Sure Oscar looked down on Michael but he definitely didn't hate him.

    I now realize I'm more Michael than Jim, which I though I was for being a salesman and marrying my Coworker. These money problems just hits all the spot man, from not having a raise in 5years, to getting a 30 years Mortgage. But, this show thought me I could still have a laugh at my circumstances, especially when my friends joke about paying my mortgage in my 60s and I also realized that I am not alone in this predicament and I can still be happy like Michael
