I watch them first to check for language, but we love these reviews. When we went to New York we visited pizza places based on these reviews. We didn’t go to sauce, and won’t be going anytime soon.
The sauce was so addictingly good when it opened up. I recently went back at the end of 2022 and the taste and quality were totally absent. I personally had top drop my onebite score from. 9.2 to 6.6, so i’m happy dave gave it another go and got to see how much the quality has fallen off
Their pizza has been awful since the owner sold. Live right down the corner and their recipe has been iIterated about 5 times in 2 years and just gets worse and worse. There are about 10 better shops just in that area.

I am from the UK and only found One Bite after visiting Ignazios in NYC. I have no idea about Bar Stool, but Dave seems like a fun, generous and quirky guy. Why a business would want to hit a self-destruct button like this is beyond me.

This was the pizza I was most excited to try when I went to NYC because of their 9.1 review and I remember being surprised at how mid it was when I actually had it. Joe & Pats though. Their vodka pie was the best pizza I have ever eaten.

I’ve gone back to sauce every year since about two months after Dave’s first review. At first it was easily one of my favorite slices of pizza. Each year it’s gone downhill and recently the pizza isn’t remotely close to what they used to have. It’s really sad.

Dave gave them exactly what they wanted. They already reaped the rewards of the initial score I bet they still reap rewards from press of this. Even if mostly negative press. It will only help them with changing clientele if barstool ppl and fans of Dave don’t go. It’s a huge deal in the pizza world but many pizza restaurants have thrived and will continue to thrive well before and after Dave.
I’ve been there and that rescore was 100% correct. Having the 9.1 sticker on the window while saying all that is crazy 🤣

I’ve gone back to sauce every year since about two months after Dave’s first review. At first it was easily one of my favorite slices of pizza. Each year it’s gone downhill and recently the pizza isn’t remotely close to what they used to have. It’s really sad.
The awareness of Sauce is incredible. I guess making good pizza and being successful is less important that "expressing yourself"

I went there two years ago based on his first review and was like no way Dave gave this a 9.1. It was average at best. They definitely had to have changed it so I hope people don’t think this just a spite drop of score because it def isn’t a 9.1 slice anymore.

Dave you should have zoomed in on the sticker that says "9.1 One Bite Score" right next to the front door for everyone to see and walk in, similar to a tripadvisor "certificate of excellence"... only difference is they had it made, which clearly shows they still appreciate your free advertising, otherwise they would have taken it down or not create it in the first place !! You should have asked them why is it still there... it's self-contradictory ))
