UK: DUCHESS OF YORK'S MOTHER DIES IN CAR CRASH IN ARGENTINA

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, ended a holiday in Italy to fly home to Britain after news that her mother had been killed in a car crash.
Her mother, Susan Barrantes, died in a head-on crash in Argentina.
The death comes a little over one year after Sarah's friend Diana, the Princess of Wales, was also killed in a car accident.
Susan Barrantes, the mother of the Duchess of York died in a head-on collision in Argentina on Saturday night.
The 61 year old was decapitated when her Landrover hit a van on a provincial highway west of Buenos Aires.
She was driving with her nephew 12 kilometres (seven miles) outside the town of Tres Lomas, when the accident occurred.
Her nephew, Rafael, survived but she was killed instantly.
Barrantes was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Her daughter, Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Queen Elizabeth II's second son Prince Andrew, was informed early on Sunday morning while holidaying in Italy.
Fergie, as she is know, left for Britain immediately with her eldest daughter, 10 year old Princess Eugenie when she heard the news.
She is then expected to fly straight onto Argentina where her mother had lived.
The death comes a little over a year after the Duchess' closest friend, Diana, Princess of Wales, died in a car crash in Paris.
She too, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
For the Duchess, it marks a double tragedy.

The Queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, were told the news when they arrived in Kuala Lumpur for a 4-day tour of Malaysia.
The Queen's press secretary, Geoff Crawford, said "they were shocked and very saddened at the news."
Meanwhile Fergie has cancelled her tour of the U-S for Weight Watchers, for which she is a spokesperson, in order to prepare for the funeral.
Her daughter, Princess Eugenie, will go to the Queen's Scottish estate at Balmoral where she will be met by her father, Prince Andrew, who is holidaying with the couple's younger daughter, eight year old Princess Beatrice.
Fergie and Andrew were married in 1986 and, at the time, it seemed their fairytale wedding was built to last.
Barrantes spoke of how the couple met.

But Fergie's marriage, like that of her mother, was to end in divorce in 1996.
Barrantes was married for 18 years to Major Ronald Ferguson, Prince Charles' polo manager, before they divorced.
She went on to marry professional Argentine polo player, Hector Barrantes, who died of cancer in 1990.
Royal watcher, James Whitaker, says Barrantes may have had a difficult life but she will be remembered for her poise and elegance.

Whitaker says Susan's death is a double tragedy for the Barrantes family, Hector's first wife died in a car accident when she was eight months pregnant.
On Sunday, her former husband, Major Ferguson issued a statement saying the death was "an absolute tragedy" and he was "extremely sorry" and "upset by it."

Poor Sarah, even when talking about her mothers death, someone has to get a comment in about her weight
When a person is so sarcastic towards another for no reason , they have the problem , it must be painful being so nasty , they were trying to trigger her , some people are sarcastic with jealousy, Sarah is a nice lady , probley thought they were idiots , bad behaviour from other people only makes me behave better than them

Sarah's mother left her when she was still a child and moved to Argentina. As a result, Sarah's father got rid of all of the horses and ponies that Sarah loved so much because it was her mother who encouraged her to ride.
Sarah sought solace in riding her financial advisor in the South of France, then getting her toes sucked. 😃
@@stringer-ik1pc Maybe things would have turned out differently if her mother hadn't deserted her and her father had been more affectionate. She married someone who was gone 11 months a year. If you were trying to be funny , you weren't.
