- On today’s episode, we headed back into the combine to one of our favorite farms, Kristin & Rusty's, for a busy day of combining soybeans, plus filled the last of our grain bins, fixed one of the broken bins, I got sick, I accidentally ruined our best farm, and we finished soybean harvest. On to corn now!

Cole, we’re all here because we enjoy your videos. Clickbait really isn’t needed
Amen
Click bait is silly , he has many devotees
Click bait isn't for subscribers and regular viewers, it's purpose is to gain new viewers when they see it in their recommendations.
Agree don’t need click bait.
I would not call it as clickbait as yiel
in the Tabletop farm are indeed ruined due to this issue and that was the highest yield farm ...
The decade of manure + the added fertility of you high management likely created a perfect environment for white mold. We just dealt with white mold on all of our beans in which the corn got chicken litter. When we were in fields where there was no manure on before corn there was no white mold
So cute when Edward got all excited when his dad opened the cab door. 😊
I've seen video's of Amish reclaim the cinder blocks on the old cement silos. Maybe there's a group in your area that will come and take those silos down for freeish?
Welcome to having kids Cole! Where you get every little bug that comes along that you never got before!!
I appreciate how you reason things through on the yield/fields, etc.
Push some zinc, too along with your vit c
Agriculture is a science. You will figure out, when you aren't run down and sick, what happened with your beans. Just remember how well you've done in the other fields. Incredible how you're all interchangeable. Makes things run so smoothly, at least the 3 of you make it look organized. Great job! You have many things to be thankful Cole. Down here in Warren County, things aren't so good. It's been dry all summer. When it did rain, it was a major storm with wind, hail, small tornadoes. Then back to hot. Your mind is on continual fast forward it seems. Getting the last bit of the farm cleaned up. It looks fantastic compared to the first videos. ❤😊
Just remember to rotate crops. If you get a pest then rotate in a crop immune to it for a while. Now mold is a tricky one though.
Hope ya all feel better and up to full again. That lil one is just so adorable.
Look better if he was
Edward's smile is so cute when he sees his Daddy ! 😁
He loves his daddy! I love him too ❤
@@NavexCole hey, how can you be replying to comments when I'm watching you in the car with Cole in a storm right now ? 🤔😏
@@dalegereaux1863I guess the real question is how can you be watching me and Cole in a storm right now if you’re responding to this comment? 😅
@@NavexCole multitasking and the magic of the internet.
Watching on the TV and responding with the cell phone. 😉😜
I did pause the TV so I wouldn't miss anything while I was leaving the message.
Don't tell anyone the secret or everyone will start doing it !
@@NavexCole excuse me for a bit, Daddy CornStar is on.
Beautiful family. You are very blessed.
I always love seeing Eduard’s smiling face. So adorable. I kind of forget about the rest of the video honestly after I rewind several times to see that little face 😂
Always good to see Nava and Edward
Cole, Edward looks exactly like you, he is a such a happy baby, i hope ya'll get to feeling better.
And those bins don't have fans. No long term storage. 3:53 add fans and aeration floors. 4:20
7:10 min....... That face when you pull up from work and or on lunch come home to see your child/children and see those smiles, Hell I smiled from this since I'm 11 hours away from my Family. Thanks Cole... Love the videos.
For your cold take plenty of zinc. When I take zinc my cold is gone in 2 day's.
Cole I am a 83 year old female that really enjoys your channel😊 Your story is so fascinating. Love your family❤
Awesome video Cole. Stay safe out and about. 🚜🚜🚜
Prayers for speedy recovery for all the sick cornstars and lil Eddie 🙏
Its that time of year again, make sure you get your vitamin C.
Thanks for pushing through to get us a video Cole..
Hi Cole hope you get better 🙏
Cole, I wish you and all yours well. Every body also needs rest and regeneration. I hope you have a great harvest. but you will have to finish the house.
🙋♀️❤️. Having a clue how much blood, sweat, and how many tears you and your family put into farming, it breaks my heart a little bit when things don't go as you so beautifully planned. Then I remember the real disasters youve handled. You're all very good at fighting back chaos! 😊
You folks may just have a MASSIVE corn harvest. And really hope you will!
Keep it up, feeding the world is hard work! Thanks for all that you do Cole. Mad respect.
I hope you all are feeling better soon. Edward is so adorable. Love his smile! That ear of corn is huge! I'm hoping they are all like that and that you guys have a huge crop this year. The area where you have the white mold on the beans, will you have to treat the ground with something so it doesn't effect next years crop? You guys are really getting it all done!
Love this episode! Full fous on getting things done!! Love the family team work
Takepeals of 3 grapefruit & 4 lemons (choped up) bring to boil and then simmer for 2 hours. Let cool naturally. Drain solids out. Drink a glass twice a day. For a few days.
Another great video today Cole, Too bad about the White Mold on Tabletop, but on the bright side it was only spotty and limited to just one bean field. Now You get to enjoy the family cold just like DC & Momma Cornstar used to when you were little LOL. Hopefully Corn will be a Bountiful crop this year and can't wait to see how the new corn head works out from Coopers endeavor. Thanks as always for bringing us along on your journeys
cole never fails to make dramatic video names lol
This calls clickbait.
Clickbait yet again....
Captain clickbait.
Of course I was going to watch it by any title anyway. Suggest going a little more over the top Cole: “White mold besieges farm; Crops devastated! Story at 10 pm.” 😂
It is rather a fun game 😂💖
Nice work getting all those beans in the bins ! 👍
Will some of your experts possibly know what was going on with the white mold on the beans ?
I remember when you were doing a lot of in-depth studies about crop outcomes. Curious how that is playing out good or bad, or more of the same.
The Colestar's are a good example of a classic family farm. Keep healthy, wealthy, and wise.
You need to rest!!! Be careful everyone.
Does Rusty actually live at Rusty's land?
Cornstars own the land and Rusty is renting the house
I taught school for close to 40 years so i have rock solid immunities built up. I havent had a cold for years. I had them ALL when i was young. 😂
Re the bad soybean area. If u applied some kind of enrichment, it may have been contaminated. Soil may have more compaction or old contamination of either a chemical or a wind blown disease. The roots were dead and the stalks could be sent to lab for ID. I woudl repeat the same next yr and watch that area during growing to see if u see plants r dying .Nutrients obviously weren’t getting to plant
I hope u keep a journal like an almanac
Recognized Modern Farm Systems logo on the one bin. Made in Webster City, Iowa.
Can't wait to see corn harvest
Did you tryout the rubbing alcohol on the sticky rubber yet ? Works good. Just takes about 10 min of cleaning.
it's Alway's a good day when Cole posts another video! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
In regards to cleaning out the waste from the old hog barn, would the Skid-Vac from Beekman Vac like Larson Farms has or a Vacuum Truck be the best option for removing both the solids and liquids quickly, easily, and economically?
Awesome Cole! Get well soon!!❤
🤣"BUSHCRAFT SURVIVAL VIDEOS" I have that addiction too! 😂😂
Hate to hear you all been sick. Hope you are all feeling better 🙏🙏
Glad
Wdym
I’ve been sickly every since the start of harvest, not enough to get down but enough that you don’t want to get up. Been so dry I think the fine particles in the air it’s playing havoc with sinuses.
Enough with the dramatics!!!!! You do a decent job, but the theatrics get a little tiresome. Just an opinion from another farmer.😊😊😊😊😊😊
WORD.
Thank you Cole! Love to watch your videos! Praying your better! God bless your family!
Thanks for sharing lol I remember working on the farm and the government would put tags on the bin stating it had a gov loan and how much they would come out and verify the grain was there and they could check it at any time but they never did after the first time
Feel better soon! Hard to not feel good. ♥♥♥ That ear of corn was beautiful 🙂
I Hope that Everyone Feels Better.
'Tis the season for the crappy crud; so sorry the family has had to battle it. Maybe time to adjust your nutritional intake for a short period to battle the vitamin deficiencies and strengthen your ability to fight this stuff. Y'all are doing great and harvest will be done soon! Blessings!!
Harvest time is an especially hard time to film. Exciting to see the results. Kiss baby Edward for me! 😍
The same meal three times a day, ouch, you also need to live this thing we call life
That M&M doll cracks me up. Lol, must of been a Friday when they mixed and made your chemical. So weird!
Can you use the hog water on the fields? Even if you have to work it into the soil. It would be beneficial for the corn.
Here in Oregon, most farmer (Grass seed) gave up on manure spreading becuase it rarely produced noticeable results. might be the same thing with Soybeans since fescue and soybeans are closely related.
Border view farms had a lot of white mold this year
So nice of Edward to share with his parents
It must feel great to have your bean bins full and ready for sale.
I love mike Mitchell he is a you tuber who never clickbaits not even close he never begs for subscribers no ads he doesn't even have sponsors he is extremely honest if somebody wants too give him a free demo then he'll only give it pros he rejects it he doesn't have as many subs as s lot of others but if somebody mentions his name not just hate comments come up people appreciate him he doesn't over edit he puts his blunders cole if you went after those quality's maybe you would be a great msn
Ryan over at How Farms Work had some Amish or Mennonite people take down their silo to repurpose it, rather than destroying it
It's good your eating differant food and feeling better. Here's your new control study on your health. Great yields on the peas all your thinking is paying off.
Sorry to hear you ruined your farm. You think you'll try to buy another one or find a new career? Maybe your brother will hire you on to help with his hay.
I'm going to be honest Cole, you need to change your diet. You are not getting nearly enough vegetables, and you aren't getting any fruit. Your body needs those things to stay healthy.
Lol ok
MEAT IS ALL A MAN NEEDS
Cole is eating fairly solid diet. The vitamins and minerals found in animal-based foods is much more biologically available than vegetables and fruits anyways.
Also, your profile picture detracts from anything you say around nutritional advice. Practice what you preach.
Congratulations on finishing with soybean harvest! Nice milestone. Be interested to understand how this years harvest compares to previous years
What was wrong with the Red Volvo truck ? Fuel filters?
Total non-farmer here but , why can’t old silos be used for grain storage? My assumption is too expensive to retrofit with efficient removal equipment? Just a guess.
Use the old silos by wrapping them in stone and converting to bed and breakfasts or a dandy playhouse/observatory.
He could build a spiral staircase along the inside wall to create his own bell tower like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, except his wouldn't be leaning. Build an observation deck on top with a sturdy railing, so no one falls off. LOL
Good job 👍 hope your family all get feeling better soon and fast 😊
If you remove the stave silo's and the building, consider a bin so you can save beans for that governement money. Use what you know now for an approch for a truck!
A dear Friend of mine...said that Silos are remarkable ...and somethibg to cherish as they are gravestones of a LIFE once upon a time
Sad Nave and Ed are sickly hope they'll get better soon. Cole change up your foods it's not good to eat the same meals every day.
Enjoyed the show and keep em coming.
Congrats on your bean harvest being completed.
Oh, a farmer’s life😊
Just curious how you fixed the red volvo?
Cole I forgot ask you what years semi truck Volvo, Freightliner and third semi truck ? Thanks again answer my questions great video keep up good work.
I'm recovering from my first cold of the season--right on schedule. I think it has something to do with the change in the sun this time of year.
Contact the Amish still take the silos one of the first videos I watched of how farming works they were doing that
Such a fun harvest video to watch
When testing variables, test 1 at a time. Or do factorial tests. When you make too many changes at once, you fail to learn which was the actual difference.
Cole keep up the good work , stay safe!
Wdym
Where have you haven't seen you in a while? Was just getting ready to kick you off my list.
You make all the points of people watching you.
Maybe you should have left a tiny patch of the bad bean crop and a tiny patch of the good crop so one of your bean experts could take a look and give you his thoughts. Hope the Fam gets over the bug quickly. Edward sure seems on the mend.
I wonder if you spot test your soil to determine what is needed to grow your crops. Not every field has the same soil make up right? Trial and error and charting are all part of farming. Great video.
He soil tested extensively
Hey there are people that would buy the unloaders and other items out of them silos before you make junk out of them.
Glad to see you are getting good food to eat.
Get cooper to make a crank for the trailer. Wel a socket to th bottom of the crank. New timpte trailers still that way
Another thing to try is zinc gluconate for cold & flu season. It can be found as a supplement, in ZiCam and ColdEeze and their generic equivalents.
I Always look forward to your videos
Cole, how do you guys work out each persons monthly income/salary on the farm? Just take the income of the farm and divide it after expenses?
A big well pump will help remove that nasty water, you could save the water and filter it to spray on the fields, maybe supply a nice pond on your property and the earth will filter it out
Also you'll have water if ever needed down the road and a nice pond to have animals come drink
I think you have to pump it out.. Call a fertilizer company and see if it can be used as fertilizer like cow manure is.
Excess Nitrogen = Less beans?
I can't recall exactly, but something to do with too much nitrogen, and you will get more foliage, and less bean.
So sometimes the most fertile soil, can be a hindrance?
So you likely improved your soil, but reduced your bean harvest for this year. (next year will likely be insane though?)
Worth a bit of reading and another round of Testing at least.
Can you leave it for winter pheasant cover, especially if it has no value to harvest?
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
Hang in there Cole, u a tough dude. Great vid
That mystery lawn mower is mine. Please ship it to me in Michigan. I'll pay you back soon.
We had company come out and pump where a dairy barn when we bought a farm, was big bucks to suck up poop. Which the DNR said had to be done. Than we back filled it.
It's not that big of a deal. It will just need to be pump into a honey wagon and disced or knifed into the field. The worst case scenario is they may need to pay to have a sample tested but probably not. Hog manure gets spread all over from hog confinements.
Maybe if this soybean variety grows bigger plants then u can give them more space to grow, so the shade effect is lessoned.
Cole Millenial farmer just talked about a sump tool today its at 11.25 in his video . Edward is so cute ,sorry you guys are sick .
Be well my UA-cam friend. 🙂
mould grows on the plants from being moist, wet and warm?
