    You missed that Amelia Williams author connection. That in the "Bells of Saint John* where Clara mentions to Artie that the book he's reading for school is her favorite book, "Summer Falls" by Amelia Williams which was Amy Pond's married name. Funny enough Artie says he's on chaptFer 10 and Clara says that "11 is the best. You'll cry your eyes out." Perhaps fore warning is of the 11th Doctors effect on his friends and companions, I also suspect that there's something 11th Doctor related going on with the cover of that book as well. What could it all mean???

      I mean in your old years of age most people will write books, maybe that's how Rivers book was published, so in a way it was already written in stone, and so for her last few decades she started to write.

    • @martins3776
      @martins3776 5 років тому +5

      The big link with this is I think it's tied into the 'some (so me?) of them (me mories) become stories' line. The numbers are used a lot too, such as 'I am in twelve'. Keep spotting things too - the pennies only just dropped A-me-lia, Me-lody (some of them become songs? River of course also).... if you listen to Me's speech (A shil dr!) about the doctor and Clara there's some clever overlap between the doctors, companions and masters and even a hint that the boundaries are blurred- the clever thing being it's I think intentionally ambiguous whether Me is talking about the doctor and Clara, the doctor and herself of the doctor and the master- so who's who in this speech? are any of these entities actually one and the same? With the doctor and Missy storyline and the doctor seeking to help rather than hate Missy Missy too becomes akin to a companion. With Clara and Me running off in a tardis there are lots of out there interpretations of things- is 'Me' literally 'Me' and a future doctor or is there a curveball master link (even the River Song storyline had some odd master/doctor connection hints, kept wondering if River might be a future someone, spoilers....), so many clever echoes across characters weaved in- I think the ambiguities are deliberate- lots of doctors/ time travellers/ masters of time. Rose, Me, Clara, River, the doctor/master all echoes of each other. They could play with this- two hearts and the regenerations- what if there were some sort of overlap through the interactions of characters through their stories? Maybe the master has a different origin point than that which we previously thought, perhaps the hybrid is the doctor/companions/master link, the two hearts some key to this. The doctor talking about time happening all at once for example, 'life is the magician because life only lets you see one day at a time... imagine if time all happened at once... time is a structure relative to ourselves (our selves?)... the space made by our lives where we stand together forever. Time and relative dimension in space. It means life.', it would be really cool for me if they explored the idea that these different characters are an aspect of time - different times- playing out simultaneously. They are all timelords- maybe even as one connected entity. Anybody spot this- TI.... ME. (they've certainly planted a few seeds future writers may revisit) Me's fusing of the master/Clara and even herself (in the two people/hybrid/Clara's death dialogue) is a genius bit of writing- she could be talking about any of the three as the other half of the hybrid with the doctor- who's who indeed :) Writing in latest series totally lost the craft of putting in all these clever subtleties I think, although I've maybe paid less attention due to being less enthused by the latest series as it's good but way below the heights of its predecessors.

      there were a lot of references to the number 11 in that series. In Hide Clara says that "whiskey is the eleventh most disgusting thing ever invented" In Nightmare in SIlver, the last number we see on the bomb countdown is 11. There are others, but I don't remember them all.

    • @Ireneharnack1138

      Martin S well I vaguely recollect the Master joining the Doctor in the capacity of some kind of “companion” during a few of his “must save my fellow Time Lords/Galafrey” moments when the other incarnations of The Doctor would join in at times granted this was during the 70’s and 80’s with Doctors 2-4 when they’d have storylines that would span one season or at least 4 episodes but wouldn’t necessarily have an intertwining plot line spanning the whole entire generation of that particular Doctor. This shows the effectiveness of the show runners input for every Doctors storyline they’re in charge of.
      Whether or not the new show runners will take advantage of those past plot potential seeds that were sown has yet to be seen I suspect (I’ve yet to see the new Doctor in all her new glory.) But as a LONGTIME fan of Doctor Who I will keep my fingers (toes, hairs and even eyes if I have to) crossed.
      And seeing that every year I rewatch Doctor Who from Doctors 9 thru present I will try to seek out your telling Easter eggs and clues before finally seeing the Jodie Whittaker iteration of The Doctor. 😁

    Fun fact - The school that doubled for Coal Hill in the Day of the Doctor was actually my old Primary School - Gladstone - in Cardiff. I was in year 5 at the time of filming, and that room used to be an art room but according to some of my other friends who have relatives there says it's now a new computer room.

      That is crazy quite crazy really when you think about it. Moffet had his eye on Capaldi but I don't think he was cast at that point. So that was his last major role before Dr Who. Jodie's last major role was in a show called "Trust me". The premise of the show was "Trust me, I'm a doctor" because she played a fake doctor.

    There are two Easter Eggs in Remembrance of the Daleks (Seventh Doctor story), well three if you count the story being set in Coal Hill School. In one of the classrooms, Ace picks up a book about the French revolution - a nod to the book that Susan borrows to read in the first Doctor Who story, 'An Unearthly Child'. The second relates to the a TV playing in a room - the continuity announcer starts to introduce a new science fiction show, but gets cut off before the title is revealed. This is a reference, once again to to An Unearthly Child - this story is set in 1963, the year Doctor Who began.

    OK, I know we're talking timey-wimey here, but I don't think you quite understand the word foreshadow. It means indicating a future event. In the case of the episodes in which the Great Intelligence is in the Tube, those events may technically be in London's future from the setting of The Snowmen, but for The Doctor and for us the audience, it is most definitely in the past. Therefore, this isn't foreshadowing so much as it is a nod to, or at best a prequel.

    Here's another one for you. In the ignored animation "Scream of the Shalka", listen to the Master's voice. That is Derek Jacobi who later plays the Master in "Utopia." David Tennant also has a small part, voicing the caretaker. Richard Grant is the voice of the 9-1/4 Doctor and appears as one of the Doctor's reincarnation in the Comic Relief parody "Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death" and later as the villain Walter Simeon in "The Snowmen." The companion, Sophie Okonedo, went on to appear as Elizabeth X in "The Beast Below." So many of the voice actors later wound up in the rebooted "Doctor Who." Maybe "Scream of the Shalka" shouldn't be ignored.

    Cal Arts is (was?) divided by *suites* for the various schools. The Character Animation dept's ground level suite was A113 where there were rooms with animation desks for the various years, a moviola room to view film, a film editing room, a soundproof booth, a camera room, etc. I'm sure much of that has been updated since I was there in the late 70s to accommodate new techniques such as video shooting & editing but yes, that is reserved as a high sign and indicates that someone who worked on that Who episode had attended Cal Arts.

    So fun little thing that not many people realize. When the tardis changes in one of the versions ( think it was Matt smith or peter’s tardis look) you can see a weird blue red and silver ball with things sticking out. Well that is sort of a reference to primeval. when Conner and abby come back to Britain from an anomaly( basically wormhole to different times, mainly dinosaur eras) we see a device with the same sphere with prods coming out of it. The device locks anomalies using electro magnetic pulse. It’s a cool reuse of a prop and a cool Easter egg

    "Upgrade to an Academy" Ok, I am 100 sure the Narrator isn't British. That's not an upgrade. most "Academy's" were failing schools.

    • @BowtiesAreC00l
      @BowtiesAreC00l 6 років тому +2

      Whilst I profess to being no expert in this, I don't think that's correct. Failing schools enter 'special measures' where they come under a more watchful eye, and are very much taken control of by outside bodies. An academy school is one where they have separated from local authority control, thereby controlling their own budgets etc. (which is not something that would be allowed with a failing school). Of course, a failing academy is also a possibility.

    • @HarryWessex
      @HarryWessex 6 років тому +4

      The schools that have become Academy's were either schools doing very badly, or schools doing very well, the schools that were at the top of the worst GCSE results in the past 10-15 years are either closed or now Academy's same with schools at the top. Mid-Ranked schools are the least likely to become academy's The worst school in my town, which was one of the worst in the country was the 1st to become an Academy in my area. Also other failing schools in my county became Academy's. Most Academy's aren't lone-standing. They're in a group.

      The Doctor and Ace face a Dalek on the same scrapyard where Ian and Barbara foliowed Susan and entered the Tardis for the first time.
