It's good to see that they've all pulled through after you rescued them and I agree that you'll have a lot more work to do in the future but for now it's just a matter of keeping them under control until you are able to start the final branch selections. Nice work Michael. 👍👍
Very nice trees my fellow Los Angeleno bonsai enthusiast.. I wanted to suggest that you get some type of black or plain back drop behind your trees so we can see better shots of your foliage pruning. Good job and keep the videos coming.
Hi, Michael. Could you please give me some advice. I have some money trees (Pachira Aquatica), which have very long trunks. I'd like to cut off the trunks, leaving fairly short stumps from which branches should grow. Just as you have them growing from stumps here. I tried it two years ago, and nothing grew. They all died. But i've seen money trees that have grown branches. So what am I doing wrong? Thanks.
I'm not familiar with that species of tree. But every species of tree is different and some react really badly to a hard cutback. For example, ficus benjamina will also sulk and die if there aren't any leaves left on the branches, so it limits pruning options. It could also be a question of time of the year or the health if the tree. My only real advice is to do some research and see if there's anyone else with experience working on that species.

Thanks. Process not perfection. I'm just glad they made it through the brutal summer this year.

I'll have to think about that. Thanks for watching!

Was it a root that they let sprout?
Yup!
Hi Michael, long time no speak. How are you doing maye?
