I’ve always felt the moment Rickert slapped Griffith that was clue to how he’ll be defeated. As an agent of the Idea of Evil he like all Godhand’s use narrative structure to bend reality, it’s being able to change the story to say that Ganniska’s arrows won’t hit me. Acts of hatred and anger only fuel the idea of evil, Rickert despite everything didn’t hate Griffith, he then talks about how Griffith is trying to recreate the Band of the Hawk. But it’s not the same Symbol, most of its members are demons who naturally listen because of his status. All of his supposed paradise is a lie. It’s a poor imitation trying to be something it’s not. He betrayed and killed the original band, hell Rickert literally forged swords as grave markers for each member. It’s changing a narrative by injecting truth into it. It’s easy to hate, and feel anger, by not being there when the eclipse happened he offers a different perspective of its consequences. Guts has to come to terms with his hatred cause the only things he hates more than Griffith is himself. If Guts comes to terms with his hatred then can he deny what the core of Griffith is. The idea of evil is strong but it’s built upon the false idea that all people are at its core demons in the shape of mortality. Forcing and changing things have a cost they just haven’t seen it yet.
It is a common theory. My theory is simpler. I think it was Slan who said, just after the Eclipse, that they were not gods and could not foresee everything. Griffith probably did not foresee that Rickert would slap him and was taken by surprised.
I think Charlotte will kill Griffith, especially after she finds out what Griffith really is

Where is the gods? Angles? Everything is evil in berserk. Griffith was slapped with no ill will by ricket. If Guts wants to win it’s the opposite of what everyone is thinking, not giving in to to malice, rather rising about causality towards truth and beauty as we’ve seen his crew has been beginning to do. There is a whole other side to this story that has been largely ignored/avoided. That lack id say is keeping it from being just another nihilist fall from grace story.

Remember that Guts and Casca, as anomalies - they were branded as sacrifices but survived thanks to the Skull Gigachadknight - exist as living Interstices, which means that they can do impossible stuff on willpower alone. That's the only way Guts is still alive and so strong and fast. That's also how he ALMOST managed to pierce Femto's forcefield during the Eclipse.
Who knows, maybe he'll manage to do what Ganishka did - become an extremely powerful independent Apostle or even a God Hand-like being and defeat Femto and the other 4 God Hands. Remember that the 4 Kings of the World exist - beings similar in power to the God-Hand, but simpathetic to mankind: maybe they're the key to empower Guts.
I believe the scene where the almost pierces Femto forcefield is anime filler, as in the manga Guts just can't do anything to Femto
It'd be funny if Guts traps all the Godhand in their primary dimension with Griff, especially if he betrays them first. I've always loved the idea of villains being trapped in hell with people they come to despise.
@@Dunge0nthis is where they always existed being trapped wouldn’t do much at all but be a inconvenience they still can tamper with the world even if they don’t exist physically it’s shown too when Guts was fighting the manifestation of slan using the troll guts and they still can make endless apostles using weak willed humans desperate at death so yeah being stuck would prove to be a problem with certain plans but they never truly existed physically to begin with and need vessels that involve complex rituals anyway so I don’t see how this would be their endgame solution for dealing the godhand🤷♂️

The Dragonslayer has been bathed in the blood of men, tons of monsters, and now a deific entity. I think Guts’s unactivated Behelit may need to be infused into the Dragonslayer somehow, perhaps in a similar fashion to Skull Knight coating his sword in the partially digested Behelits he consumed over his long afterlife. Who knows the outcome of the story now? Plus we are dealing with entities that can also see the future and in Griffith’s case manipulate space.

I think that the flashback guts had with skull knight where they show guts the memory of the beserker armor with a DIFFERENT god hand members w/ the exception of void being the only remaining member from the past to the current member that the last fight skull night had (obviously he wasn’t skull night yet but was still the king) his last fight against the god hand in the beserker armor allowed him the strength to kill those 4 members of the god hand who we don’t recognize in the current god hand before the beserker armor kills him……

He didn't kill them dude, godhand members have a term just like presidents. Void was there because he was a fresh new member at the time. He's now the oldest and the strongest member, which means next godhand will replace void.

Man. I hated the boat arc during the old days. But now that i have the cool complete collection, its actually rly good. I lik3 how they show how the one guy is a badass ship commander. Something Guts really needed.
It just went on for too long and was hard to read at the time. It's a genuinely great arc. I also think people dislike it because it's not as hyper-focused on Guts like a lot of other arcs are.
At the level guts is now it's impossible when he fought ganishka we can see that ganishka was strong and became even stronger even if he lost his sanity but femto killed him easily when guts and zodd together struggled

My personal theory is that Femto will take the place of Void and Guts the place of Skull knight. It’d be an endless cycle.
Miura said that Guts will have a happy ending, so no, that won't happen.
I think that's what WOULD happen, if Guts didn't deny fate the way he did. That's the "natural" cycle of that world, a cycle that Skull Knight accepted. SK is the foe of the Godhand, but he cannot deny them entirely. He's trapped in his armor and exists within his own doomed fate. Guts, on the other hand, challenges fate in every way, so its likely that he will be the one to break the cycle somehow.

The speed up heart beat of the sea god almost ripped Gutts apart. Ruptured his ear drumbs, and nearly his eye. Brutal. He'd have to as i said, surrender to his Humanity to the berserk armor I think the only way that's gonna be possible is if more or less uses the Bailey and watches Casca die.

My theory is that the only way Guts would be able of defeating the Godhand is if his power conceptually transcends to a powerful archetypal idea-like how “God” is the idea of evil. Maybe Guts would become the idea of hope somehow?
Another theory I have is that since Guts and the gang are working for the Kushans, Daiba would teach Guts about magic from the Hindu gods. Maybe Daiba would pray to Durga, goddess of war, to assist Guts and grant him some god like powers. After all, Daiba HAS once referred to Guts as the “Prana of Durga”

I would say besides getting help from the Skull Knight, if you add Silat and his bodyguards to the mix, Guts will definitely being able to handle the Godhand.

Well, given berserk themes, I agree with you, Gutz will only reach Griffith after he changes his motive, not wrath and revenge, but love for Casca and his new family.
Tho now that Griffith has his emotions again, people suspect that the story will go in another way, which I really hope it doesn't, Griffith deserves to pay for everything he has down and the pain he brought.

The Sea God is a mini version of the Idea of Evil and it's internal structure an imitation of the Eclipse. The final larger parasites before the heart shadows of the God Hand minus Femto.
A man that defies fate can do anything. Look at Kratos, even before he’s a god. And look at Asura. Dude was so angry he punched a reality-altering, universe-building god to death.
Guts isn't a god, those characters are gods and also guts didn't defy fate with his own power, it was skull knight who saved him, not some supernatural power he secretly has lol.

The Skull Knight may have gotten him out of there, but his struggling against fate bought him the time to be rescued.

There are so many ways that Berserk could go, that even the most logical, “happy” ending will probably suck for everyone in the world even if they “fix” the laws of the world. If only there was an elden ring in Midland lol
When you think about it, according to the overarching plot point of Griffith making Berserk his own story: then its likely the power possessed by the god hand, or at least their presence and influence over Midland requires a connection. Something to tether them to this world. Guts just has to sever that tie somehow.

Part of me and wants to troll and say why guts will never kill Griffith, but mainly want to believe Guts can get a big power up or a big realization and can whoop on his former best friend.

Currently Guts doesn't have the ability to kill the members of the Godhand. Both Void and Femto have shown they can completely mitigate physical attacks by redirecting Skull Knights attacks. The only way I see Guts becoming strong enough to even challenge the Godhand is if he becomes the Skull Knight himself and transforms the Dragonslayer into the Sword of Behelits. Only then do I see him capable of challenging, not beat, just to challenge the Godhand.
As it currently stands, Guts is just a super strong and fast guy with a big ass sword and fancy armor. While the Godhand have reality warping abilities, teleportation, flight, transmutation, etc...I'm sure there is more that we don't even know about. Guts needs a massive power boost to close the distance on the Godhand.
Unfortunately, at the current rate of the manga I highly doubt we'll ever see a true ending to the series.

Guts won't kill the God hand Griffith will because he doesn't want to share the earth with another king.
That's why he tricked them all into getting a physical form.
After the God hand are dead Guts will fight and defeat Griffith but will probably just turn his back on him like he did back in the beginning.
Griffith's death will likely come by the hand of the idea of evil as a result of Griffith's hubris Guts will die and the series will end on a bitter sweet note.
Without watching, Guttsu has to surrender to the Berserk Armor, give into the beat of darkness and surrender his humanity. Casca is probably gonna die for this to happen as he's following the path of the Skull Knight.
I think the ritual he needs to undergo to become the "hund skull night"doesn't involve the berserker armor, or not only relies on it. You see, Flora had the armor and gave it to guts, if the skull night was solely a product of the berserker armor then the berserker armor wouldn't be no more.
@@evalopez1454 fair, but Skull Knight use to wear the armor, and looking back at the last memory the "armor" had, seems Skull Knights lady was dying and she was branded. No matter the fate, only way for Gutts to no longer be a sacrifice, he has to ascend to the Astral plane, the berserk armor is but the medium to facilitate the process. If Gutts takes Griffith's sacrifice by ending Casca to meet Griffith on his level, who's to say he'll be bound to the armor? SK wasn't, I don't think Gutts will be either. however, I still think Casca has to die for Gutts to beat Griffith. And they both die. All the ways it could end, how do you stop Griffith being a man in a world were he is... as Void said "we who are infinitely more powerful than you?" Gutts as he is can't even get close to Griffith before he passes out from blood loss, and his body won't take much more before its mush, spikes in his bones, muscles. To beat a monster, you have to become one yourself.
I wouldn’t like that ending personally because then everything Guts went through would’ve all been for nothing his whole point as a character is fighting against fate tooth and nail if anything it seems like he’s following skull knights fate but it makes more sense that he avoids it in the end.

Guts is nothing more than a man a very powerful man the pinnacle of what it would mean to be the ultimate Warrior no doubt. But he's fighting an entire elite force that is infinitely more powerful than him. This is just my interpretation. I guess it's considering all the variables not just the way we want to end it. I've been a writer since I was 6 years old and that's why I love Miura's writing losing him was a huge tragedy.

I don't this is a fight Guts is suppose to win. It's been shown that their was a Godhand previous to this one, which provides evidence that this is a cycle and if Guts throws away all he's earned over his travels , he'll just be another skullknight for another wanderer that suffers in the next cycle. To defeat Griffith will be a group effort, using literally the power of friendship (his allies) to bring light (or maybe the idea of hope?)to the idea of evil. The beast of darkness if anything will probably be the greatest threat for the Blackswordsman going forward. I would honestly love to see Rickert and Silat just gunning down demons and Casca facing Griffith to finally give her some closure for what it did.

Guts may have the power to kill the Godhand by the end of the series, but it won't end with him killing Griffith. That's just not the theme of the story and there's more going on narratively to end things differently.
Idk, you need cosmic level beings to defeat cosmic level beings. If guts did manage to defeat a god hand while him being a human, it would feel like if Spiderman managed to kill Franklin Richards which doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you use the regular old "this weapon is a 4 dimensional object that can pierce the fabric of dimension" type shit, which I suppose already exists in Skull Knight, but still does not make a lot of sense when your talking about killing beings that can warp reality. So yeah, either elevate guts, or decrease the god hands power is the only way that would make their deaths make sense, but even from the beginning I never imagined berserk as a manga that would have a good ending, guts will probably die a horrible death.

I think the skull knight said his awards slays too many demons so that it can damage slan. However, why did guts want to kill hands of gods? Do he need to? They do not have any direct conflict. I do not think they will interfere if guts want to fight with griffins. Plus if you think each of the hands of god presents a sin of humanity, you can not defeat the sin cuz they always exists, even guts kills them, there will be new one after 216 years. I feel they just the sin it’s self,and they just watching. The only one guts need to defeat is griffins human form. Which is possible that’s why the moon boy is inside him. If really other hands of gods needs to be defeated, leave them to the skull knight, he is the only one have reason to.

That's an interesting theory however I don't think it will happen simply because it would diminish the relationship the Moonlight Boy has with Guts and Casca. The idea of Griffith being two beings one guts mortal enemy and the other the son of Guts and Casca.

The way I see Berserk ending is Guts being beaten within an inch of his life, he accepts defeat, renounces the Berserker armor and Griffith runs his sword through his heart. Lying there taking his last breaths he encounters God, they have a discussion about his pain and suffering, how God has longed for a Champion as resilient as he is. God bestows Guts with the Golden armor of righteousness, reborn he then picks off each member of the God hand until he finally faces off with Griffith. They both let their blades do the talking with Guts becoming the victor, the armor fades away whilst the building collapses around him and he simply accepts death as his savior. Cascau is left with their son and they both walk into the new era together with Guts watching over them.

The world as it is now is nothing but evil and darkness, it's lead to many people I know believing that evil is the greater good and the only way to succeed at life. This isn't the case, Berserk needs a moment for the light to shine through. Even if it is just for a brief moment.

@desunosutoraiki8019 I think even if it came to the point where God would support Guts (which would be weird, since he hasn't done anything noticable to support him all the time before in his hard and frustrating life) Guts wouldn't accept this support at all, for the same reason. The story as you made it up is ok. But God and his sacred golden armor are unnecessary and cringe in this story imo. :)

I think Skull Knight and Guts are about to have a training montage. I just feel like Skull Knight knows so much more still, idk if there is something cosmic keeping him from saying it, or just something personal, but i think hes about to forgo whatever it was and drop some more heavy lore on us as he helps Guts truly master the armor.
