He's gotta run the ropes a bit more tho, love his plancha but cringe when he does guerrero suplexes, he's not as fast or slick as his daddy but he's got potential.
So fantasy booking time: End of November, Orton calls out Cena. They have a shoot talk about their careers and how they have been with each other since OVW. Orton then brings up Nov. 14, 2005. Their first tv match. Orton then says he wants one more match. But not any match. He wants Cena's last match. And he wants it on Nov. 25, 2025. A 20 year feud finally ending. Cena agrees and then Orton announces that it will also be his last match. For the next year, they stay apart. Put one on Smackdown, the other on Raw. Give them great last year runs, but always remind people that it is their last year. Even have them keeping track of what each other are doing. But they dont touch or interfere with each others runs. Nov 25, 2025 is a Friday so make the whole show a celebration of both mens careers and then give them an hour. Make it over the top full of tons of run ins (maybe even have a moment where Cena and Orton are fighting off people together) SuperCena pulls off the win after multiple RKO's Show ends with both men embracing and the entire locker room, and backstage out and applauding the guys and just for fun: As everyone is celebrating "King of Kings" plays and out comes HHH. He gets in the ring, stares at both men like he wants to do something before smiling and announcing the first two nominees for the 2026 HOF as Cena and Orton
I’m not gonna lie I might tear up in that scenario especially with HHH coming out because the feud the three of them all had.. wow. Emmy award whatever the hell award is available
As much as I'd love a Cena/Melo match because Cena is such a good guy to the younger ones, we need the biggest stage and the biggest rival that can mirror Taker/Shawn. And that would be a match against Randy.
I know you're supposed to lose your last match, and Cena has been putting people over a lot lately, but I want him to win his last match. It's Cena, even though I hated "super cena" it's still his legacy and he should go out on top, that said, it should be a guy who can take an L without losing any momentum. I don't have a name though
Position Cena as The Gatekeeper. Handpick 4-6 superstars, stipulate that if you beat Cena, you get a title shot at the next PPV. When the last contender is due to be revealed, with Cena (and ref) already in the ring, facing the titantron, Cena’s own music hits. Cena then does the most devastating move in aaaaaalllllllll entertainment - on himself. Ref just stands there staring at him. Cena gets up, gives the ref an “ah, camaaaaan” look and cheeky smile, ref nods. Cena surprise roll-ups himself again, ref hits the three count. Referee’s decision is final - Cena’s going to Wrestlemanina. Goofy wrestling 4 life.
No it's the worst possible answer. Why do you retire someone to someone who is going to retire himself in a couple of years? Whonis already super over.
I know the whole traditional passing the torch to the younger guy on the way out but Cena has done more than enough for the younger generation over the last 6 years. I think he should win on his last match and if you wanna have him lose then lose to someone like Randy for good old times
It's a good point but you would still be losing out on a huge opportunity to make a new star. So you get 1 good night for potentially years of a new star. In theory.
I’d have Carmelo Hayes on my list, I feel like I see a lot of early heel Cena in him and I think they could tell a great story with that. I mean Carmelo’s breakout moment was literally referencing the “ruthless aggression!” Promo
The whole storyline “my time is now” could make a number of stars as they all converge to be the one to retire Cena - Waller, Bron, Corbin, Miz, Melo you really could pull a number of them in and have it branch into various angles ☝🏽
I completely agree with you here Simon. Gunther is the best choice. We haven’t had a true passing of the torch is quite some time. Gunther was going to get that from Lesnar before all that stuff went down. Cena is the next believable person especially because all that Cena stands for is what Gunther hates so it works
Imagine Somehow Edge back to WWE And At the last match of Cena take place in "2025 Surviver Series " Edge as A Referee At Cena vs Orton match That really would be End of an era Match of Ruthless aggression, 2 Greatest Rival of John cena At his last match ... Although Some of you just say it's like hhh vs Undertaker But Idc About this , It's going to be great 👍🏻
I think it should be the Wyatt Sicks and Bo Dallas. Make it cinematic where the lights go out and he disappears and it’s a way to honor Bray Wyatt because Cena that type of dude to honor people
Then i saw door closing on Cena shirt, i imagined not maybe last match, but Uncle Howdy finishing him. I believe Cena will go for 17th title, but will lose. Turns Heel, says he will not leave and Uncle Howdy makes Cena remember who he is and ends him. Cena says Thank You and Vanishes forever, you cant see him anymore.
Dawg ,Gunther doing it would be a great way to move him into the main event. I also would want Cody to defend against Cena before he’s done but that’s feeling unlikely rn
John will definitely lose his retirement match, his respect for the business will be him counting the lights to pass on the torch. I think his retirement tour should be Cena reliving his best hits, Punk/Orton/Miz etc with his final match being either Bron or Solo, if it is Bron you are essentially handing him the keys as the face of the company for the next 2 decades or you use it to move Solo back to the top of the card once they he has ultimately lose the Bloodline Civil War with Roman and you are looking to get Solo into the role of the final boss of WWE lets be honest Brock isn't here for much longer at 47. I would love it for Gunther, but I don't think he needs it & he is 37, so compared to Bron/Solo WWE gets an extra 10 years of who ever they want to be the next face of the company
Alot of people will disagree with me, and that's fine, but I truly believe Karrion Kross deserves a shot in this conversation. Karrion is super good, underrated, and under utilized, and his booking hasn't been great, and he's an excellent talker and story teller when given the opportunity to do so, and I think that giving him a big feud and retiring one of the greatest of all time will help propel Kross as a main event heel for years to come
If the John Cena US open challenge showed us anything is that Cena can have GREAT face vs face matches, see Zayn or Cesaro who arguably had the best match of his WWE career against Cena for that title
While R-Truth would be fun, not the right way to go about it. Probably not a popular opinion, but I could see either SZ or KO in the role. Cena gave both their introduction matches on the main roster (all were bangers) & both men could bring out a killer retirement match out of him. You wouldn't even necessarily need to turn either man full heel to do it either IMO
I like the Bron one. Give BrOn the inter title, and have Cena's motivation for coming after Bron is that he's tying up loose ends, one of which is never winning the inter title. Bron can dismiss Cena saying that he's got nothing to gain from facing Cena, because if Bron loses he lost to an old man, and if Bron wins he beat an old man, badass vibes. Then it's Cena pursuing Bron but Cena loses at the end.
Curveball...Angle comes out of retirement (cena asks him to do so) cenas final match is against the very man who he launched his career against. Both men retire here as it also gives angles final match redemption from the corbin match. Afterwards, angle then inducts cena into HOF at mania 42
Bring Edge back for a Fatal 4 way. Rock, Orton, Edge, Cena. Hell throw Punk in there too. Just blow the roof off the place. Would also protect a lot of the older guys who can’t go like they used to. Cody is def gonna retire Orton.
Small feud until Wrestlemania. Afterwards John starts chasing for the 17th title until he wins at Summerslam. Gunther beats and retires John in December 2025 at John’s final PLE.
I think it should be Orton it's really the only thing that makes sense. Do the match with Gunther if he is still world Champion (I don't think he will be I think Seth wins it at the Rumble so we can go through with the Punk/Seth night 1 main even planned for this year) earlier in the last year and go either way they want with that.
Honestly, whilst I don't think he should... CM Punk could be awesome if you set it up right. Imagine CM Punk as World Champion. Cena facing him for the title in Cena's last match. Basically setting him up to win the title, from Punk, and walk off into the sunset with it. The insane paralells.
It should either be Cody Rhodes or someone young to make the main eventer like Bron Brekker or Oba Femi. To me, those are the only good choices. Anything else would be a waste of opportunity.
Id love to see Solo Sikoa retire Cena and you can do a similar build to Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker for their second Wrestlemania match Cena could even screw solo out of the WWE championship to force the fight
Wrestlemania vs Cody Summerslam vs Randy Final Match vs 'Future of the Business' guy (Melo, Trick, etc) I'd have him lose to Cody, beat Randy, and then put over someone on the up to close it out.
I want Miz to do it. He is a great heel and would be a nice back and forth on promos as well. he just lost his tag team title as well and R-Truth can again meet his childhood hero.
La Knight. Cena competing in one last US open challenge, this time as a challenger and with hopes of ending his career as the best US champ of all time
Cody makes sense. Bron would benefit no end. But Gunther. Thats how you make a new end game boss. Brock is probably not coming back so no one can be made by retiring him. But if he dose that should be Bron. So Gunther beating John makes a new star
I'm asking prior to the end so if it was mentioned ignore this. Do WWE bring Batista in to fit the HHH role of the End of an Era match between Shawn and Undertaker
Okay…. Am I the only person who finds Gunther boring? Like…. I recognize that he has talent, but I’m just not all about him winning everything and doing everything. I actually very much like the idea of Orton retiring Cena and the whole “end of an era” angle. Or, even either Cody or Seth, as they each have history with Cena. Especially, Cody.
Why do Gunther and Cody have to hold their titles for a year or more? It just doesn't make sense. There are many wrestlers who can pin them on the roster.
I want an Austin Theory redemption arc where he protects/helps Cena to make sure his retirement year is "the best retierment year ever" only for Theory to turn on Cena at Wrestlemania in the big Orton vs Cena WWE Championship match :)
From outta left field… Bring back Wade Barrett as a manager for a new Nexus. Have them ALL beat down Cena. Super Cena finally fails. Put Santino on commentary calling the match against John Chaina.
Do you not think that Roman helps Cody at summer slam then it’s Bloodline v Bloodline. It then turns out that the rock put Solo in charge and then Roman and the rock fight at Mania 41? Cody then helps Roman. Bringin on rock v Cody at 42! Just a thought. Think the story has a better arch.
Speaking of Orton and Cena. If you want both of them to fight together but not really fight together. Put them both in the Rumble as number 1 and 2 let them both run the gauntlet. Fighting against each other, with each other. And in the End you maybe do let Cena win the Rumble. And thus letting him go on to Wrestlemania facing Gunther, everyone thinks Cena is going to win but looses.
R-Truth retires his childhood hero lol
Yes
Love it!.
There wouldn't be a dry eye in the whole area.
I didn't know I needed this match until now!!!
This the one 🎯 give the HBK “I’m sorry” before the 5 moves of doom
R-Truth: "I'm sorry. I love you."
If they don’t do this at some point even on raw, they are missing out big time
Yes!
100,000% 😂
This is it right here
i love how simon always sneaks in an "edge no not adam copeland" joke in his vids lmaooo
It's getting a bit old imo
@@thomasleerlingBoth that and the premium live event joke have gotten old. It'll always be ppv to me.
Cena vs a mirror, so that he can finally see himself and be able to ride off into the sunset
You know who i think should retire john cena ...
Simon miller.
Why?!
Here's why!!
That sir definitely gets a Golden Up!
The only right answer is R-Truth!
Top 3 options in order: Randy, Cody, Rock.. R-Truth gets an honorable mention
I could see a Cena vs. Orton Feud. Give Cena the record for title wins or let Orton get his 15 and 16th tying him Flair and Cena
Cena Vs Orton was the rivalry of the late 2000s and they never had a 1on1 match at mania
The only correct answer, just think Randy vs Cena with Rick Flair as a ref.
Okay Simon, I respect your opinion usually. But come on, surely this is the push Repo man needs! He should defeat the invisible man!
Dominik Mysterio. Just think of the heat
Have him also retire his dad then you have a new legend killer
He's gotta run the ropes a bit more tho, love his plancha but cringe when he does guerrero suplexes, he's not as fast or slick as his daddy but he's got potential.
@@JrLibrarian-m4n when Randy started the legend killer he was still green

I would put that match at survivor series

Let’s be real the only right answer is Orton for the title with cameos just like Roman vs Cody at mania
Goofy idea. They should have another match but a guy that's a few more years till his own retirement shouldn't do it.
@@lordeowsthekingyes he should. Orton may wrestle another 2 years or another 10. It’s still the right opponent.
oh another orton and cena match....yay..no thanks

Yes, but not at mania.
It should be Orton.. Regardless of whether you like their matches..Orton was his biggest rival and he should be the one to retire him..
yawn
Edge was his biggest rival, Orton didn't hate Cena as much as Edge hated him.
Orton 2nd biggest rival.

boring
If Cena was ever to go heel in his career, he should have done a newer version of the two-man power trip with Orton back in the day.
I’d have Carmelo Hayes on my list, I feel like I see a lot of early heel Cena in him and I think they could tell a great story with that. I mean Carmelo’s breakout moment was literally referencing the “ruthless aggression!” Promo
If there was any justice in the world, then Wade Barrett would come out of retirement and retire Cena, gaining revenge on behalf of the Nexus.
Maybe wade steps out of the announcer table and screws John out of the match
Randy Orton
Bron Breaker, for sure. Put a belt on Cena to get him to 17 and then have him drop it to Bron in a brutal squash.
