To eat an orange, you first have to peel it. You did that car almost exactly the way I would have. Except I would've gone with a Lapis Lazuli (Japis Blau) pearl with a hint of sapphire and ruby pearl, the suspension would be Tein or equivalent coilovers that are dual adjustable and of course height adjustable, and the wheels would be some old school JDM goodness from the 70's. You know the kind. Not Watanbes. Preferably a matte gold center with a chrome barrel. If budget allows, a set of Five point Star Rotoform wheels with a gloss gold center and silver chrome barrel.
Hi there, thanks so much:) Wow that sounds like a magical colour! Yes I'd love the Tein coilovers too, maybe one day, this project was a fairly tight budget so couldn't get everything 100% This car has been in our family over 20 years and i just wanted to save it from being scrapped, it brings back memories having it driving on the road again:) Thanks for watching 🙂
I completely don't understand the gold/white/color coded wheels idea. The only right color for wheels is shades of silver/gray down to black in some cases. Anyway. You have restored yourself a beautiful car. If only the steering wheel was on the correct side :-P

Hi there, thanks so much, the car has been over 20 years in our family, it had gotten to a point where it was going to be scrapped if it wasn't fixed up so I decided to save the car so we could enjoy it for another few years :)
Thanks for watching 🙂
Hi there, thanks so much:)
Wow that sounds like a magical colour!
Yes I'd love the Tein coilovers too, maybe one day, this project was a fairly tight budget so couldn't get everything 100%
This car has been in our family over 20 years and i just wanted to save it from being scrapped, it brings back memories having it driving on the road again:)
Thanks for watching 🙂
I completely don't understand the gold/white/color coded wheels idea. The only right color for wheels is shades of silver/gray down to black in some cases.
Anyway. You have restored yourself a beautiful car. If only the steering wheel was on the correct side :-P
@@CeltDoesStuff absolutely! The stuff I was listing is a "when $ allows it" list of stuff. You did a great job & it looks amazing!
Nice work!
Hi there, thanks for the positive comment 🙂 more videos of the car coming soon

The fact that it ran off just a fuel pump is amazing
Hi there, yes essentially I just added fuel pump and a starter and battery and it fired right up :)
After only about 1000klms of driving it is now heating(head gasket) currently working on it, should be running soon and a video of it being done also :)
Your channel looks great! Well done! I'm a new subscriber now!

This is awesome, need to get a Zero7four sticker on it somewhere ;)
Thank you, I have not heard of zero7four, I googled them, looks like a jdm donegal group?.. that's interesting as I'm in donegal also

Criminal to allow such neglect befall an otherwise iconic awesome beautiful halcyon car. God bless your efforts for what you have done.

The work put in exceeds cars value, but glad you did it.
Hi there, yes thats very true,
the reason for fixing the car up was its been in our family over 20 years and has sentimental value, it may of been scrapped if I didn't go ahead with the project,
Thanks for the comment and watching 🙂
Wow...excelente trabajo👍🏻😎
Thanks so much, we have had the car in our family over 20 years, its nice to finally get it back on the road,

Awesome blue colour. Black alloys always lose some detail tho so IMO, silver would make the car pop!

Hi there, thanks, its a MG colour that I darkened to my liking,
Ah yes I know what u mean silver wheels stand out, in person these wheels are a dark grey/graphite so not completely black :)

Thats cool you are in Greece, I bet it is much nicer weather there that in Ireland:)

Nice video just wish you would of shown a tad bit more of the maintenance item replacements
Hi there, thank you,
Yes I understand what you mean, perhaps I should have made it like a ongoing series of videos from start to finish, I may do this with a future project 😀
I'm still new to making videos and I'm humbled with the amount of views this video got, honestly was only expecting it to get 500 to 1k,

This blue is perfect👌🏾👌🏾
Hi there, thank you,
The bulk of the blue is MG Battersea blue but I added in other random dark blues to darken it as it was too bright for me,
More videos on the car coming soon :)

Very nice work, especially the bodywork. I have the same one. Please tell me where you found crystal-type headlights because I want to replace mine.
Hi there, that's cool you have one too, they are a lovely car to drive, I much prefer them to the new cars released today,
I was gifted the headlights, I think the guy got them on ebay

best celica restoration vid by far😭😭😭
great work dude
curious tho, how much did it cost?
Hi there,
thank you, probably €4k to €5k and 500hours, the car has been in our family over 20 years so its great to finally get it back on the road again,

Amazing result and job. In Ireland if you find an abandoned car, can u take it?
Hi there, thank you, the car has been in our family over 20 years, its good to finally get it back on the road,
Haha no, if you take a car without permission it is stealing, but in Ireland the law is very lazy so alot of people are thief's and they never get prosecuted the police would rather catch ordinary people on their way home from work 5km over the speed limits than real criminals as its much easier
Thanks for watching and have a happy new year 🙂
Nice job seriously ! What was the light green under coating you've put everywere ?
Amazing proyect
Hi there, thank you so much, you are very kind!
Thanks for watching 😊
Nice job ~ not a fan of dark tail lights though. Much prefer the OEM clean bright look.
Hi there, thank you, I mainly darkned the lights as they were quite old looking as they were faded and have some signs of mold inside them, it covered up all that and gave them a nice gloss, obviously if I had a bigger budget I'd of bought all new lights :)
Thanks for watching, new video on the celica coming soon 🙂
@@CeltDoesStuff I pray you do find the budget for new OEM lights - keep up the good work!
Mk 5 celiacs look better now than when they first came out

I had a -86 GT-i. Cool rides, not really deserving of the GTR badge but still very nice cars :)
Nice, they don't make em like they use to :) we have had this celica in our family over 20 years now, its got alot of memories for me, lovely car to drive, pretty much as comfortable as a Carina:)

You made very good job. I feel joy watching it!!!. By the way did anybody know the name of the song starting at 2:22 ?
Hi there, thank you so much, the song if you search youtube is Amnesia by Moochi 🙂
Thanks for your comment and watching, much appreciated 😊
Thanks a lot. Is has vibe I like. I am waiting for more content 😁
Looks amazing, what pop-up motors did you use? And how do you control them? Been looking into doing the same mods.
Thank you 😊
I just used second hand motors from a place that is scrapping these cars,
My motor retract relay was not retracting them once they popped up so I took apart the relay to see if I could see anything visual wrong with it, I took off the covers of the relays and they will retract if u press the relay directly, thats how I manage to make them wink etc
The headlight retract relay is a blue box below the instrument cluster, I had to extend the harness by about 2 foot to allow me to do it easily beside the gear shift lever,
I'll have more videos on the car in the future and I'll show how I did it
Thanks for the comment and watching 🙂
looks amazing! what color blue did you spray?
Hi there, thank you, the colour is MG Battersea Blue, but it was too light for me so I tinted to be darker with a handful of blues i had,
Thanks for the comment and watching :)
I'll have more videos of it up in the future 🙂
@@CeltDoesStuff looking forward to more content! love these cars and its nice to see one with such care given to it

beautiful restoration Celica

A quedado genial, peeo coches rescatados asi, se les tiene que hacer una restauracion completa, desde dejar el chasis pelado, hasta cambiar cableado si hace falta, la intemperie es muy mala, hay que asegurarse en su totalidad
Hi there, ah yes I understand what you are saying, with this car I only had a very small budget to get the car back on the road, most of the parts were secondhand also I did not have the time to put thousands of hours into the job, as it was 500 hours went into the car, the car has been in our family over 20 years and I just wanted to get it back on the road for the summer 😀
Thanks for watching 😊
It has DNA's Rally. It should convert to rally look. It will be great.
Hi there, well we do like rally cars but I wanted to keep it as it was when we had on the road 20 years ago when we first got the car, I want to use it for a daily driver car for all small to medium journeys :)
Thanks for the comment and watching 🙂
What did you use to replace the woofers in the doors? I have been looking for a replacement for years

Restauré Toyota Celica
Hi there, thanks for watching 😊
hello, may i ask what the exact colour is? thank you
Hi there, its MG Battersea Blue but I heavily tinted it to be darker 💙
@@CeltDoesStuff thank you it is a very very nice colour !!
Gotta say i would of trailered that to the garage and had the timing belt changed, after 15 years thats risky af. Lovely car though.
Hi, the top timing belt cover was removed and entire belt was inspected and was not perished or cut(it had been replaced years ago and was not the original belt) and each of the rotating pullys inspected to check if sized, the motor was turned by hand for this, the car was not driven on the road at all on the original belt,
This video is just a condensed oversea of the work, 500 hours went into the car
Thanks for watching 👀
500 hours. That is lots of hours.
I could of put 2000 hours into the restoration if I had the time and money but I had to draw the line somewhere, its great to finally get it back on the road again 🙂
Are you going to sell after?
Hi, no I am keeping it as it has sentimental value to me as the car has been in our family over 20 years, its a lovely car to drive, I use it most days 🙂
Any chance, this is up for sale
Hi there, sorry its not on the market, the car has been in our family over 20 years, I fixed it up as it has sentimental value to my family, it had gotten to the stage where it was either needed to be fixed up or scrapped so I decided to get stuck into it and get her on the road again:)
