I think they used a two engine pod from a B-47 if I remember correctly. EDIT: I just looked it up, and I was correct in a roundabout way. It used the jet engine pod from a B-36, which were actually “taken” from the B-47.
This would have been cool to see! Sadly, i believe the lineit was running on, like this concept, no longer exists except in small sections. I think this was the Erie Lackawanna line in Western Ohio.
The ride over that jointed rail must have been exciting to say the least.
There was a documentary here on this rarity. I believe they used GE engines on it. It was built a long time ago.
