Alright there Jamie. Really glad you enjoyed the space mate - we're only looking for them spaces that make us feel good eh? For sure it's really good hospitality there. Re-the name this is what I've been told but as you say it may differ in certain regions. Interesting you love in a Gilfach though. Well, thanks again old mate - hopefully out in the next 10 days or so. Peace.
@WyeExplorer I really enjoyed it. I would know of the old buildings, churches and things you find. Special little places that most people don't even know are there. It makes me happy seeing it all nice and tidy, nobody trying write on the walls or spray on them, use as a toilet. I just seeing things like that and you share it well. Thanks mate. Me too. How nice that there is trust to make yourself a coffee and make a contribution. I would always give more than the price of a coffee as a thanks for the trust. You don't need to go back to the medieval period to find accounts of families living in the same room as their cattle. This is the same scenario as my father in law. Hats off to Liz and colleague for saving this building. Interesting that a fresh water fish can adapt to salt water, what a process. I'm glad you made this video, Mark, I always learn something each time!

Yes, they did a fine job saving it. I agree well interesting how they return to the sea and back to fresh water. Many thanks Andrew. Take care. Mark
Nice to see Gilfach again Mark. We visited on a convoluted journey back home after visiting Blorenge, 'twitching' a Marmora's warbler that should've been residing somewhere by the Mediterranean. Sad to hear it too has been stressed. But hey there's the Esk Valley walk there. For sure a wonderful space to kick back in is Gilfach - it's in the trees and the walls. Thanks Sue - take care both. @@WyeExplorer hey, thanks Mark!! That’s really appreciated, I’ll take a look tonight. Bless you! Here’s to salmon leaps 😊 Sleights near Whitby was the best spot ❤️
I loved this video, Mark. Gigrin Farm is near there too, where the red kites are fed daily. Radnorshire ( like Herefordshire) is stunning. Amongst my books & maps of those areas, I've got a couple of great Roy Palmer books about the folklore there... fascinating stuff. I do appreciate that North Yorkshire ( where I now live) is beautiful but I have never felt it to be where I belong & suspect I won't stay much longer. A pleasure my friend. You'd enjoy this place and the valley and river Marteg. Re-the Wye - the catchment has just received 35 M to clean up the phosphate. They're going to need more. Take care out there. Mark
Very informative thanks, I think you can hike up Gamallt from that visitor centre? I understand you have walked the whole length of the river Wye from source to mouth? But have you hiked all of the Wye’s tributaries from source to mouth also? Best wishes Adam
Informative about Gilfach you mean? Yeah, you can get to Gamallt from Gilfach but you can get to Gilfach from Gamallt too. There's no public right of way so the grey man is needed. Re-the rivers I have hiked every single river of the Wye system from source to confluence - about 700 miles. It's on my website if interested wwwdotwyeexplorerdotcodotuk. Thanks. Mark

Thanks dude-yeah it's worth a bit of time for sure. All the best. Mark
Looks mint that 😊
It is bro - some good hiking around there. Mark
Gilfach is sure a lovely spot Mark. The restoration of that old house is marvellous, great place to chill and have a cuppa coffee. Good to take it slow sometimes. I'm sure you had a great walk back to Rhayader. All the best 👍
Alright there Patrick, you'd certainly enjoy this space mate the restoration and the coffee. It's up the side of the hill and secluded. Re-the walk - it was great. I took it easy. Appreciated as always. Mark
@@WyeExplorer You're welcome as always Mark. I'm sure I would enjoy that space, it looks awesome. Glad the walk was great 👍
@@solitaryrambler Cheers Patrick - yeah nice and mellow. Have a great weekend.
When can I move in !!?? lol.. I wish !!
Awesome Mark bro ..as always my friend !!
Hi Andy, well they actually do have a flat at the end. If you want to look after the place you're ready to move in. Many thanks old friend - I trust you're well. Mark
@@WyeExplorer That's awesome bro ! ..If I could tie up a few loose ends here I would be over like an octane powered rocket with no brakes !! 😉 Have an awesome weekend Mark my dear friend !
@@JimTimber Hey, I know you would Andy - it would be great to hike, camp and confab with you bro. I will have a good one - you too old mate. Peace.
Thank you for this - one for the visit list for sure! Such a sad state of affairs for the River Wye but from what you say some positive news for the Marteg at least
A pleasure my friend. You'd enjoy this place and the valley and river Marteg. Re-the Wye - the catchment has just received 35 M to clean up the phosphate. They're going to need more. Take care out there. Mark
@@WyeExplorer that is great news! An iconic river like the Wye deserves some care - will look forward to seeing more of your adventures mate 👍
@@bigdogcountry1693 It is I agree. But it's a drop that will need more. Good start though. Cheers dude.
good work again buddy, we will also visit x
Cheers there all. Yeah, you'd enjoy it. Take care.
Thanks. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Thanks Mark, yes informative about Gilfach, what’s there and it’s history. I’ve seen it on the map but didn’t know there was so much to it. Easy to miss as you say , thanks for showing us that. The part about the Monks was interesting too , trying to picture the routes in my head!
Nice pictures of you and Paul at the end.
That’s incredible great achievement, you must be a world record holder as I doubt anyone else has done that? Expect Paul maybe?
Sounds like you’re having a good week. Best wishes as always.
@@adamradford2285 You'd like Gilfach for just relaxing Adam. And of course there's the walking, which you are now aware of. Re-the monks if you knew the area it seems unlikely they'd choose the route. Thanks - yeah Paul and I had a great time up here. As for the rivers - yep nobody else in Britain has done that. Thanks Adam - take care.
@@WyeExplorer well that’s very impressive, it could be a very long time before anyone else attempts it. A hinge undertaking but very enjoyable and rewarding. Catch you soon
@@adamradford2285 Thanks Adam - it was more of a healing endeavor for Paul and I and especially after he died-grief was present throughout. So, I kind of see it differently. Appreciated bro. Peace
Dw i'n hoffi coffi ☕️
Thanks Chris - an interesting way of putting it. Mark
😊👍
Hi there Steve. Cheers mate-hope you're well. Mark
"The ecosystem of the Wye has been collapsing". Sigh. Seems like the same story everywhere.
Yeah, Adam it's had a terrible time with industrial farming etc. The world is up against it. Thanks bro. Take care. Mark
There are some great places that otherwise I wouldn’t know existed. 🏕
Hi Anthony. Glad to have brought it to light mate - well worth a visit. Mark
