There is such poetry in this old abandoned house. I just can imagine its ancient splendour. I think that our brain is filling the gaps , and therefore, restore in our imagination, the life that abounded in this place , before. A lovely sharing, dear Mark 🌿🌿🌿

Loved the old farm and the beautiful church. The cross is amazing and like you I love the atmosphere inside these old churches. We had a stunning stay on a farm South of Builth Wells. A little church there with so much history of the tiny little settlement.

That"s a superb scout hut and a top idea to do a first aid course ! The cruck truss was the tech to build with in those days as well as an aisled frame... awesome !! Ha ha ..I love that film An American Werewolf in London.. half a lemonade at The Slaughtered Lamb Inn ! lol I love old churches although I myself am about as religious as a toilet brush ! Wow, that Scout hut did not look a 100 years old, incredible condition! Unlike the farm, that had definitely seen better days! Wonderful walk as always Mark, the stone cross was also incredible, so much history preserved! We saw so many stone crosses when we were on the island of Iona, just off Mull, many over 1,000 years old! Cheers for taking us with you, kind regards, Simon👍

    Brilliant Mark.
    Such a nice watch.
Loved the start with the sun and birds.
It's great to get out and you always meet some great people. I'm the same stop and chat, so nice.
    Old farm house.
Well done having a look and sharing.
The old beams in the loft you mentioned, I've seen so many of them in farm houses, for over 11 years I insulated lofts. Loved going to old farm houses, sometimes they would give us fresh milk etc.
Nice you could walk around the church, 6th century! 🤯👌
Great views. Really makes me want to get back out. I wait and wait for the sun. This Saturday I'll go on mountain or hill no matter what the weather is.
Great little shelter under the tree by that waterfall. I was happy seeing the buds on that tree. Everything is waking up again.😁

Alright there Jamie. Yeah, spring is in the air for sure - loved it as I know you do. Re-the farm I wanted to explore more out back - it's said there was an old peasants hall but I had to get moving - another time. Good to hear of your old work - like you I did pest control and we would end up in loads of backend farms. Awesome. Yeah, 6th C - mind boggling. As for the views they were epic from the slopes I was walking - hope you get some decent views in yourself. Nothing better eh? Well, many thanks. All the best as always. Mark

      It was a good watch.
Be good to see more exploring there again. You do research and share many things, most I watch don't do that.
      Pest petrol, good on you.
I was so jumpy with mice, rats and birds.
Once in a farm house there was a big circle window, no glass in it.
Huge old farm house I had a little 60 watt light bulb, very little light. A huge owl came through the window at me.
I nearly Pooed myself. It was opening it's wings to stop. 😂
Mostly bat we came across. I'd crawl across the beams.
My work mate was fine, he'd be laughing me nearly crying. It was price work, you don't do it, you don't get paid.
      Good memories though.
For me being on a mountain is my favourite thing. Stopping for cuppa and sandwiche and taking it in.
Cool bus stop you stopped at.
      Hopefully Saturday will be ok.
I'm going there even if it has no views.
      Just need a decent hike.

Great to see you on a bit of the Wye Valley Walk again Mark. Interesting fact indeed about Glasbury's distance from the confluence of the Wye with the Severn. Nice one on getting a look inside that scout hut. So glad you got a look inside that abandoned farm too, lots to see inside and no falling through floorboards thankfully 😆And that church with the amazing stone cross, that was wonderful to see. Lovely little waterfall at the end. Interesting to hear about the inspiration of the Hound of the Baskervilles, I can understand why Conan Doyle set it on Dartmoor to take away publicity from the real Baskerville Hall. Glasbury is one of my stopping off points when I go to Pembrokeshire, the loos are very welcome on a long drive. Actually my neighbour used to go to scouts in that scout hut so I always send him a picture as I pass through.

That was a nice explore and walk Mark, with some good views across the landscape too. What a bit of luck that was, finding both the old house and the church open. I always wonder about what happened to the folk who lived in an old house like that, how many winters did they spend there with a nice fire burning in the range. That cross, so old, the man who made it worked hard and with dedication, he never would have dreamed that so many hundreds of years later his work would still be appreciated. Mark, a great looking day for exploring. Lots of Spring energy about👍 Primroses are always lovely to come across. A very impressive Scout Hut and cool that it is still in use. You could imagine that big range roaring away providing heat and cooking food back in the day. Cool to get a look around the church and to feel that old stone Cross. The waterfall was a cool find under that dark cloud🌧️

Alright there gerry, yeah some good spring vibes about and Primroses. As for the Scout Hut it was good to step inside-1912 and still in use. Not so the farm house - seen better days but would do up nice with that range. New conversations - would be cool. Well, the cross was super awesome. 6th C - it's seen a few things. A good day - the waterfall was a surprise. Thanks gerry. All the best out there. Mark

Lovely trip Mark. My pa was very fond of primroses too as was 19th century PM, Benjamin Disraeli. The Wye looked to be carrying a fair bit of water, which is hardly surprising considering all the rain. And how remarkable was the preservation on the 6th C cross? I wouldn't call myself a Christian either though am very much drawn to holy sites, etc. Great stuff that. ATB, Chris
