    Nice crappie

    Kyle, as usual, great video! Man, I could handle a whole freezer full of crappie like that first one you caught. There might not be a short answer for this, but what is the biggest line you'd ever buy for crappie fishing? Sometimes you do hang some bass (like Don), and it is nice to not lose 'em because you're geared for crappie fishing.

      The max Kyle uses is 15lb braid anfd 10lb fluoro but he mainly uses 10lb braid and 6lb fluoro. Hope that info helps! Thanks for watching

    What weights do you like to use on those weighted swivels ?

    • @acccrappiestix
      @acccrappiestix  Рік тому +1

      1/16 to 3/16 depending on depth we're fishing in!

    I'm headed to Greeson next month. Do you mind sharing a couple coordinates of those brush piles? I know they have them on the agfc website but I heard sometimes those pins aren't up to date.

    I noticed you use a split shot in clear water like Norfork, but you are using a much larger swivel weight here. Do you use the smaller profile in clear water and the swivel weight in tinted water?

    • @acccrappiestix
      @acccrappiestix  Рік тому

      We'll use the weighted swivels in clear and stained water. Don't use weighted swivels for every occasion but it's a preferred method.

    • @acccrappiestix
      @acccrappiestix  Рік тому

      It also depends how deep we're fishing. We'll use a larger swivel if we're fishing deeper water to get it down faster

    For the weight of the weighted swivel, do you match the weight to your jighead? I bought some of the weighted swivels in 1/4 oz but my leader keeps wrapping around the braid. How do you prevent this? It appears toward the end of the video that you are slowly reeeling the jig just above the brush top, and not vertically jigging. Is that correct? I am just getting in to crappie fishing and your videos are helping a lot. Thanks for answering my questions.

    • @acccrappiestix
      @acccrappiestix  Рік тому +1

      Usually close to matching the weight of the swivel and jig head. Enough for the jig head to fall below the swivel. And yes we are casting and slowly reeling above brush or suspened fish, not vertical jigging in this case.

    Never used rigs before but saw guys using them last weekend. We use minnows this time of year and have them a foot to three feet off the bottom. I'll have to get some and try it out.

      We were fishing Bull Shoals last weekend (clear water lake) and we caught most fish on minnows. These stained lakes with more white crappie are will have a good jig bite!

      We have more lakes coming out. Our videographer (Kyle) lives in Arkansas so we're hitting those lakes more often. He has another job and 3 kids so it's hard for him to get away for long periods of time!

      @@acccrappiestix I love it! We live near those lakes, so excited to see videos of places we actually fish. Dardanelle might be a good one too :-)
