Some people just have no effen clue what happens during/after a hurricane. There is nothing here to joke about. Be safe and be strong to ALL on the coast. Everything can be replaced. Except a life. PEACE.

I live in North Carolina and as we all know NC is no stranger to hurricanes. They're intense and destructive storms and no longer considered only a coastal problem. I'm two hours from the beach and Florence brought 70 mph winds. My well built home felt like it was about to become a pile of rubble. We've had many storms but Hugo, Fran, Floyd and Florence will remain etched in my mind like they happened yesterday. Stay safe out there!

When you see a palm tree laying on the ground, that was a tornado that wrenched and twisted that tree. It breaks at about mid-stem, and can be flung down or out. These trees are heavy and they take quite a bit of force to break because of their fibrous nature. They are so happy and gallant! To see them on the ground, ruined, is very sad.

Lake Charles was destroyed by LAURA, but that was yesterday's news. Back in 2005 RITA gave Lake Charles 9ft storm surge 35 miles from the gulf, but nobody talked about it because a lot of people in N.O. who live BELOW SEA LEVEL didn't leave. LAKE CHARLES is 10ft.above sea level and 35 miles inland as the crow flies.

I don’t see the type of damage you’d expect based on the radar indicted wind speeds. I’m guessing most of this area is newer-ish construction - if so maybe that’s why. Which is a great sign if those 140mph radar winds were hitting like 110 or so on the ground.

Cya one house without a roof is not CAT2 damage. Widespread damage, many homes with no roofs, trees crushing cars and homes, that would be CAT2 damage. At least from this video I’m not seeing the level of damage I’d expect, which is a good thing since it means homes are being made better.

I am so sorry for all who have lost their loved ones and to all those who
have lost their homes and possessions in this hurricane and all the other
disasters that are happening around the world also, fires extreme floods
and the plagues of locusts earthquakes, landslides etc. It is so very tragic
and heartbreaking to see. Know that my prayers are with you all. I also
pray that people will seek comfort in Jesus Christ who is the only Saviour
of the world. Call upon His Holy name for forgiveness of sins with a humble
and repentant heart and become born again in Christ Jesus and He will
forgive you, give comfort & you will be saved to eternal life. For He alone
died for all our sins so we could be forgiven. Accept the free gift of GOD
and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for your Salvation & believe in
the Gospel of Peace & Salvation which is only obtain through The Son of
GOD and you will be SAVED. May GODS BLESSINGS be poured out upon
you, may you be lifted up in comfort and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In His Holy & Blessed name Jesus Christ AMEN.
