How nice of you to be invited by the transport minister's office, certainly becoming bit of a celebrity among the Perth rail enthusiasts. I must say I'm interested in the C Series trains as they'll be very similar to what Melbourne's new X'trapolis 2.0's will be like.
Thanks for filming the event Mark! I missed out on seeing Rita and Roger’s speech. You have been waiting a very long time and the suspense of the event has been building for quite some time. I hope you enjoy these new trains.
I live down the road from Queens Park station. The work on the new stations on the Armadale line is progressing quickly. You should do a six month update in May.
Nice train just a shame they didnt give you guys a ride to Yanchep and back considering its mostly driver training on the extension now. Wouldve given you all a worthwhile journey plus sneak peak of Yanchep station.
Metronet and manufacturing trains 🚆 back in Perth was the best thing to happen to Western Australia. Thanks Mark for another great video buddy 👍 love your channel 👍 keep up the great work 👍
The livery on the X'Trap 2.0's makes them look a little more sleek and stylish than these... for better or worse. All personal preference. I'm glad they look different just for the sake of variety.
When then the premiers were doing the official speeches, I was in the white shirt next to one of the train drivers (I think) and also, I wasn't meant to be on the c-series due to me not winning the comp but, i started to have a small talk with Rita while the VIPs and comp winner were heading to the trains and she allowed me and my mum on and plus i got interviewed by channel 7 as well
it was so much fun, lovley seeing many transport enthusiasts! I do wish that you could call doors, and also there was not many windows on the train, but considering how many doors there were and the size of them its understandable. They are far smaller than the A or B series. I do love the new seats they are so comfy, much better than the old B series, and the USB charging points are great. I love the new door tones too. What are your favourite parts of the new C series EMUs?
@@TransportofPerth i mean the amount of windows are smaller and the diametre is smaller. I also love the higher back seats, its great how you can rest your head. It will be great for those going to the end of the line
Amazing video, the door chime of the door opening and closing sounds very similar to the hcmt trains here in melbourne. I’m also surprised about the size of the info screens, as at least through the video they look very small in comparison to the hcmt, which has similar screens
Impressive :) I first came across you when you did that last train from the old Bayswater station video, but nothing else until now; I was keenly watching the return journey to Perth & looking out for the works at Stirling Station - I was last up that way in March last year, before most of the major stuff, so am interested to know how the replacement station is going?
Yes with Rita's office directly inviting me. I wish they did that for the last Australind in November, although then I wouldn't be on the last day of the Armadale Line so it's fine.
@TransportofPerth I was talking about the train on platform 4 at claisbrook stn that three car set not talking about today train I was saying that 3 car on platform 4 at claisebrook stn it test train to test the tracks at the new bayswater platform and tracks point to make sure everything working before tomorrow
They are reconfiguring the tracks adding more sidings for when the Mandurah Line comes to the Stadium and making the main track through the station through platform 1 instead of 2.
It’s a nice train it kind of reminds me of a British train form the drivers cab. Also do you know what these trans are replacing? Idk why but I heard that they are making DMU variants of these
They are displacing B-series from the Joondalup and Mandurah Lines to slowly replace A-series on the heritage lines. The DMUs are for the new Australind sets to Bunbury.
@@TransportofPerth With the Armadale line being built from the ground up, most of it should accommodate the C series. The only issue is the legacy station that didn't get the upgrade.
@@jamesclarke8564 They were the original trial sets which had slight differences from the final design so they still haven't been repainted, modified or fitted with an interior and are just sitting at Nowergup depot for the moment. These trains look awesome. Can’t wait to ride the C series on the Mandurah line. Are they slowly going to replace all B series trains on the Joondalup and Mandurah lines?
@@TransportofPerth i thought A-series would eventually be phased out, that's the original electric rail cars when the network was first electrified. B and C are probably to stay for a while. the plan I think is phase out A-series, and put B series on lines like Fremantle, Airport, Midland. Perhaps the link connection on armadale via thornline to Cockburn will also have C-series?

Woooo!
I want to walk down the entire length of the train just because lol
Can't wait for more to be built and for more to be rolled out!

The C series is pretty much a modified Xtrap 2

It was good to be on Train 130 from Optus Stadium to Whitfords. I was invited by METRONET.
Does it feel different from the a and b series?
Also on Friday I saw a 2 car a series go full speed through Warwick as I tagged on
Extremely, nothing like them. That might have just been going to the depot for maintenance.
That door issue is so annoying! Our new Urbos 100 trams weirdly have this function, although all doors open at every stop! Great video!

There's something very retro about the design. A lot of sharpness compare to the more rounded design of the last model.
