A variation: If you jump over a piece, it gets sent back to the starting position, never the turn-around position. You have to get all 5 pieces back to the starting space turned around.
Kinda look like a pirate like battle game about using "ships" (game pieces) conquer the "island"(other side)" and "jump" is like sunking the oppoment's ship "down".
That would also make sense with the movement speed reversing on the way home: If the wind’s favoring you in one direction, it’s against you in the other. But I’m thinking it’s not age of sail pirate ships (which attacked with broadsides) so much as triremes (which attacked by ramming).
Like how in studying the rules for a tafl game called Thud (wherein Discworld Dwarves and Trolls vie for control of a stone), I realized that in Checkers, the pieces aren't jumping but trampling.
@@adrianwoodruff1885 Those wooden games are called the "Modern Classics", it's called that because Gigamic used to make several abstract board games, mostly combinatorial (no luck at all in the game) in a series called "Classics" series, here's some of the games in that series => Quoridor Quixo Quarto Pylos Gyges Skybridge Quads Inside Eclipse Batik (this is one of the few non combinatorial games in the series, because it focuses on dexterity) etc., the 4 games at the top are also part of the "Modern Classics", which also include Quantik, Squadro and a new game called Qawale (to be released on Oct. 5)
I have an idea for card game to be in your video if you want it. I can tell the rules on mail or in discord, and in Poland sometime ago it was the most popular card game that they were playing.

The youtuber Vat19 has a lot of videos of these kind of games.

It also makes sense since the game’s name sounds kinda like “squadron”
"yeah" it "kinda" is "like" "that"
Pretty cool little game
What an interesting idea!
1:19 can you make a bridge straight to the end like this?
Quorridor?
How cool!
Hello
i miss the times when he said "the rules are the same as regular chess except for these changes..."
Looks like Quoridor
Same maker IIRC
@@adrianwoodruff1885 makes so much sense, but if you were a developer would you upload another thing that is like one of your old uploads?
Quixo and Quarto are also from Gigamic
They are well known for their wooden board games.

competitive rush hour
It's a race
A race where you ram your opponent's ships and send them to Davy Jones' locker.
Second
What a weird little game
Ew. I don’t know why but this game gives me a weird gross feeling. And I absolutely dig it! I may get this sooner or later.
