Both are legends, Seger is phenomenal & Springsteen is phenomenal except that he’s a flaming liberal who can’t keep his mouth shut when it comes to politics, a major turn off. Bob Seger is way underrated and has an amazing voice!!!
I always thought was Springsteen was a wonderful writer, certainly an American icon, but I never cared much for him as a singer or musician. Compared to Seger, at least for me, he leaves a lot to be desired. Seger always had that powerful, soulful voice, excellent compositions and production (save The Horizontal Bop, great song but terrible quality), and penetrating, heartfelt writing. When we talk about the American Masters, the true greats that need to be studied and remembered, Seger is top five easily! The man is an American icon and a superb artist.
I love Seger, but he would've never came out with an Album like Nebraska. Raw acoustic and painful depressed lyrics. Thats why Springsteen is a bit higher for me. He has a more diverse catalog.

I was 14 when I saw Segar, with Beautiful Loser, January 1975, they were opening up for Bachman Turner Overdrive on the Not Fragile Tour. He really rocked that night. I'm 62 now, but I still remember it like yesterday. Gary from Tennessee. ✌️
Great and underrated for sure. Played their live from Boston tape to and from work in early 80's. Made me happy. Thanks Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. Much appreciated from Canada.

Such a heart and soul guy. He was my first...concert, lol. Right around '80. Toledo Sports Arena. First Song... Hollywood never forgets. I can still see his long shiney hair from the back of the arena....great memory😊
Bob Seger the best storyteller ever!!!! Detroit The Motor City where we know music!!!! He is the most kind and nice guy you would ever meet and very humble.. We love him here!! Rock and Roll never forgets!!!! Happy Retirement Bob!!! 👏👏👏.. 🎉🎉🎉...
I followed you around the Detroit area when you guys 1st started out,. My friends and I picketed the radio stations to play "Heavy Music"! Still love you Bob!
I agree Uncle Bob live bullet is fantastic to listen to still to this day no doubt it. I pop that CD in the CD player rolling those miles across America in my 18 wheeler at least every 10 days. Started driving a truck in 1990 and began with cassettes always had a copy of live bullet some form through all my years.
Overnight sensation? Bob was a sensation for well over 10 years before he "made it big". Also, "Live Bullet" was recorded over three nights, not two. Seger always sold out Cobo Hall on consecutive nights!? Give this interviewer a stick and let him go play badminton.
It's just a pity that you can hardly find any good live videos from previous concerts in the 70s / 80s. Actually all of them have horrible audio and the video quality is horrible too.
Listen to his genuine humility. This is what Detroit Rock is all about. Regular, blue collar guys doing it with the music, not image, make up, spandex, looking like chicks. Detroit rock is real. Not posed (see LA bands)
He’s so Great, here when asked about success, he gives his band mates all the credit. He’s so humble and righteous and sweet ! 🍃❣️🍃
With all due respect to Bruce Springsteen....Bob Seger's music is the heart and soul of America!!!
springsteens catalog and songwriting is nothing compared to Seger

big fan of Bob Seger seen him in concert it was phenomenal
a total icon.
Saw Bob at Cobo Arena in '79 or '80. Tier C. Some guy next to me puked and an usher moved us down to the main floor. Great concert.
Class act. Legend.
